Did you read the scripture to give a response or to see how it applies to you? To answer your question. You see the light through faith in the word You have to bring death to self...
Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

everything in 1 cor 13:4-13 is found in the power of his resurrection ..I am telling you if you are in Christ you have no business talking about confidence in self. Unless your faith is in vain. God gave you the power to do it ...What is hindering you. You think he must come and do it for you .Who is the servant and who is the master. Obey the master ...receive your sight and rise up and walk...God bless

Where did "I" post any confidence in self?
Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

yes brothet just as I need God's approval I need your approval how else can we have unity in the faith. If God say yea ,you say yea and I say yea we have unity. You don't have to agree with me, I don't have to agree with you but we all have to agree with God. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.On some things we agree on others we don't . This is where we allow the word to be what we agree to. We do not twist God's word to suit our doctrine. We do not add or take away from God's word. And we always obey God's word.

I have no Doctrine for that is Dogma to me and causes force to others and so i see Romans 14 as much deeper than food alone, anyway, love the fact that you do beleive, not necessarily the same as what I see that has set me free, as you are free as well right? you are free from bondage right?

You really do not need anyone elses approval, when you are approved do you?
I think not, for either you will approve of me or you won't. It really is not an issue with me for anoyne else to approive of me or not when God:
Ephesians 1:6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

accepted is the same as approved, so if you are then you are right? Why would one need anyone elses approval? did Jesus ever preach to be approved one of the other, or approved, accepted in the beloved by his work, not ours true or false?

In the beginning, it is the Lord's forgiveness that saves us. However, he expects us to learn from our mistakes and repent. Paul tells us how we have to work out our own salvation (Phil 2:12-13) and Jesus tells us to repent (Matt 4:17).

Yes and then see the next verse please what does it say? And what is repent? Is it I have to stop sin, or I need to beleive with no doubt? did Chirst do it all for us as Col 1:22 says he did, and why for what purpose?

No sir. Repent means to be sorry for and to turn the other way from, whatever you are sorry for. I was just responding to the scripture verse that was being used.
The scripture that was used was, "Repent ye, and believe the Gospel' (Mark 1.15).
It means, to turn from doubting the gospel to believing it.
It is not saying to repent of your dead works and believe the gospel. The problem with repentance to receive salvation, is that it would negate or supersede all the other verses that say contrary.

Their is a communicating lapse here I see, As you just agreed with me about repent. I went from unbelieving to believing, period in less that 60 seconds, the mystery of the Gospel by Faith (belief) in Christ we are delivered to Father for the new life Father gives in the resurrected Christ in Spirit and truth, by Belief no doubts. Doubt is what started the mess to begin with back at the Garden, maybe, what do you think? You decide you are of free will as well to make the decision how deep is daddy's love through Son to you?
1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.

Grace is a period in time when humanity can come to God and directly ask for forgiveness of sins. This period was given to all humanity, with Israel being included. It is a gift that only God can give, since the One who humanity has sinned against is Him. Grace is the opportunity for mankind to not only be forgiven of their sins, but also a time when humanity can experience living in this reality with the guidance of a force that is beyond our imagination, and all it takes is but a little faith.

Faith is living out what you believe. By faith, we will see the workings of God, not just in the past, but also in the present.

Wha does "grace alone by faith" mean? Why do we have to repent if we are saved by grace? Or is grace referred to as God giving is Jesus?

GRACE - God's Riches At Christ's Expense.
Like everyone said here, you cannot earn it..its freely given.
However its only available in the Narrow Path to Heaven Jesus said.So when we walks in that Path you could fall into the wide road to hell.So you have to turn back to the Narrow path to be Reconciled through Repentance. In long term we sway less and take pace in the Narrow Path With Abundance of Grace to The Eternal Glory of God.Its all possible when we condemn others less and focus on correcting us more.

We are saved by grace because there is nothing we can do that is good enough to satisfy God. We must repent, which is to turn around and go a different way, because God will not save us against our will. We repent when we confess to God we are not good enough nor can we become good enough in our own strength to be acceptable to God.

For the cause of Christ
Roger

Yet we read this...

1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

according to the title on this thread, it is incorrect

we are not saved by grace alone

there is no Bible text that says that

it is a twisting of the Bible

one of the 12 twisting grace verses that if used together make people think
they can keep right on sinning and still go to heaven

this is not Biblical and is warned about by Paul and James

Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

this is true

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith;

this is tru also

1 + 1 = 2

so saying by grace alone is untrue

and what is FAITH?
FAith is believing every word in the Bible so much that you do all of it

that is what faith is

so by grace, following all the bible

that is how you are saved.

grace comes only by the blood of Jesus paid for our sins

so salvation is through Jesus blood alone by his grace THROUGH BIBLE STUDY BELIEFE AND FOLLOWING JESUS WORD

that is the true gospel;

FAITH without Jesus works in you is dead

so

by grace
through faith
with works of Jesus

there is sanctification

Wha does "grace alone by faith" mean? Why do we have to repent if we are saved by grace? Or is grace referred to as God giving is Jesus?

When you hear the truth, you know that it is right(that inner witness) and you naturally want to(repent) change the direction that you were going and come to the truth(preaching of the cross.)

GOD chose the preaching of the cross and it would be foolishness to those that are perishing, but to those being saved, its the power of GOD unto salvation to them that believe.

Actually sir, I wasn't agreeing with you, as it was you who misunderstood what I was saying.
You asked if repentance was changing from doubt to believing, and I said that it wasn't, and that I was just talking about a particular verse in the bible as to what it was saying. This is just one thing we can repent of, but it is not what repentance is. You can repent or turn from just about anything.

Agreed, and so how is that accomplished or is it already in Christ accomplished, once one steps out of Adam and into Christ?
Love is the greatest of all to all, from God through Son right?

Will all men approve? did all approve Jesus? there is a reality that verses emotions. If one's emotions are in the lead of that one's life is that one's life a mess?
do you see what is said here about the thief that comes to steal, kill and destroy? One's feelings being led by them overrides reality

Thank you
Luke 7:50 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
Romans 10:10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Key words, Work out our OWN salvation in fear and trembling and come to see God's unfathomable love to not take for granted, while being forgiven back at the cross of Christ, where the last shedding of blood took place, for all sin, done why?
Now work that out between God and you. now just listen and hear and ask God for all, you hear to see truth beyond error that this world is steeped in, so incredibly, that Christ had to come here in an earth suit to redeem us.
2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

2 Corinthians 5:19 to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
