Do you believe in them? As in, should you do a lesser sin to prevent a greater sin from happening? Or do you believe their is always a sinless possibility?
I was reading the polygamy thread actually and was going to include this in that but did not want that thread to get hijacked and off topic...but I was thinking if it was better that some guys/girls sleep around all the time, and then when one gets pregnant they do not 'acknowledge the kid' or become a true mother/father to it but either become a dead beat dad or abort it or something similiar....or is it better to actually believe that people can be married to more than one person at the same time? Because I remember Mohogany Snail saying that he believes that when a person has sex, they are married, if that is true then polygamy is a sure fact of life...
The greater/lesser sins come into play when I am considering if it is a better option that someone gets married to more than one person or that they sleep around with more than one person? Because it is a fact of life, right now that many people do this ( me not included as I am a virgin)...So would it be better to endorse these people to have to 'look after' and 'financially support' and 'care for' the people they have sex with, or should they just think they can deceive a person, have sex with them and then dump them???
I mostly still am holding to my view that you can always be sinless, and no sin can ever be excused...but am just wondering...
I know of a lot of other scenarios that are really common as well... I am not sure if 'divorce is the lesser or greater sin' but it seems those who are going through it may feel that divorce is actually the lesser sin than staying in a relationship where both they and their children are being abused physically, emotionally, or sexually...
Hmmm...
