Jason, I doubt that anyone going to go back to your old posts.
Never does scripture speak of losing salvation; in fact "losing salvation" is a oxymoron -- if it were lost, then you never had it.
While it is true that believers cannot lose their salvation, on the other hand, they can forfeit their salvation (i.e. they can willingly throw it away by rebelling against God). In fact,

Here is a list of believers who have forfeited their salvation:

  • Saul (1 Samuel 16:14) (1 Samuel 31:4

  • Demas (2 Timothy 4:10)

  • The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32)

  • Judas Iscariot (Psalm 41:9) (Luke 6:16) (Acts 1:25)

  • Simon the Sorcerer (Acts 8:13) (Acts 8:18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23)

  • Hymenaeus and Philetus (2 Timothy 2:17, 18)

  • Unnamed Christians destroyed by false teaching (2 Timothy 2:17, 18)

  • Many Unnamed Disciples (John 6:66)

  • Some Younger Christian Widows (1 Timothy 5:14, 15)

  • Some Christians Eager For Money (1 Timothy 6:8, 9, 10)

  • Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11)

  • Balaam (Numbers chapters 22, 23, 24) (Numbers 31:8) (Joshua 13:22) (Jude 1:11)

And here is a list of potential fallen believers:

  • The Servant Who is Not Looking For Him (Luke 12:45, 46)

  • Recent Convert Who is a Potential Spiritual Leader (1 Timothy 3:6)

  • The Unforgiving in Heart (Matthew 6:14, 15)

  • Luke Warm Unrepentant Believer (Revelation 3:14-22)

  • Fruitless Christians (John 15:1-10) (Matthew 25:14-30)

  • Widows That Live in Pleasure (1 Timothy 5:5, 6)

  • Believers Whose Seed Fell Upon the Rocks (Luke 8:13)

  • Believers Whose Seed Was Choked by Thorns (Matthew 13:22)

  • Gentile Believer Who Did Not Have on a Wedding Garment (Matthew 22:1-14) (Revelation 19:7, 8)

  • The Potential Fellow Believer Who Erred From the Truth & Was Converted Back
    (James 5:19, 20)

For Jesus is the Light and we are to shine the Light of Christ within our lives. For there are those who think they can serve Jesus and also live for oneself, sin, and evil; But this is wrong, though. "For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God" (John 3:20-21).

It is OSS = Once Saved, Saved!
I ran into another person on another forum who tried to re-label OSAS to a name that they liked. The problem is that nobody recognizes these specialized new abbreviations or names.

Eternal Security is a matter of God keeping His word:
No "Eternal Security" is in most cases a matter of a believer thinking that they can sin and still be saved. It is turning the grace of our God into a doctrine of immorality (Jude 1:4 NIV).

"I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish."
Well, John 10:28 is in context to those sheep that "Follow Him." It is not talking about "Rebellious Sheep."

He Who began a good work in you will complete it.
When you read Philippians 1:6, you also have to read Philippians 2:12 that says work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Why work out your salvation in "trembling" if one is "Once Saved Always Saved"? Also, when you read Philippians 1:6, you also have to read Philippians 3:2 that says we are to beware of dogs and or evil workers. The OSAS proponent believes they can sin and still be saved. Sin is evil and they believe their sin will not be held to their account. But to do sin is evil and sin is a work. So they are "evil workers."

The inheritance is incorruptible, undefiled, fades not away, and is guarded by God.
He is the author & perfecter of our faith.
Surely goodness & mercy shall follow me all the day of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
These passages only apply to the faithful believer. Nowhere does it ever say that these verses apply to the unfaithful believer or the believer who abides in unrepentant sin.

foreknew>predestined>called>justified>glorified
Are you a Calvinist?

Thou shalt call His name Jesus,
for He shall save His people from their sins.
Yes, it is true. Jesus will save His people from their sins. But nowhwere did Jesus ever say that His people could be rebellious towards Him. Remember, the Jews were cut off because of their unbelief.

The Scriptures also say that the Children of the Kingdom will be cast into outer darkness. Oh, and no. This is not in reference to Israel. This is in reference to those believers who did not endure in the faith.

Jason, will you this day repent of writing off the Lord Jesus as a mere "chance-giver"? Trust Him as your only & sufficient Savior.
If I knew the Lord allowed me to do evil in His name, then there would be no purpose in serving God because I could just do evil without Him.

So then Paul was lying when he said, "but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." ?

1 Corinthians 15:10
"But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me."
Paul put forth the labor and effort but gave credit to God's grace. It was by God's grace that Paul was an apostle, by God's grace he was a minister of the gospel, it was by God's grace Paul had bestowed upon him the inspiration and powers of the Holy Spirit which altogether enabled Paul to work and suffer and have the success he achieved.

For if you believe works save you then salvation then is not in by the work of Jesus Christ (Titus 3:5) (Ephesians 2:8-9) but salvation has been then reduced to a series of religions actions on your part or a "To Do List."
--Those that do the will of the Father enter the kingdom Mt 7:21
--Christ saves those that obey, Heb 5:9
--No one can Jesus "Lord" and not do the things He said to do, Lk 6:46

Jesus' "to do" list in order to be saved:

believe Jn 8:24
repent Lk 13:3,5
confess Mt 10:32,33
be baptized Mk 16:16

I'm glad I didn't have that list. I didn't even know that there was a protocol. I just said Lord I accept you and make you the Lord of my life and want to live by your word. I was saved and set free from alcoholism in ten seconds.

Yes, Paul was enabled by the Spirit of God to do the work that He did. Paul could not do this without God. That's the whole point I am getting at. Paul was not claiming credit for himself.

In fact, Scripture tells us that God (Christ) is the One who ultimately does the work within a believer.

Galatians 5:22, 23, 24 (cf. Matthew 7:16, 18, Matthew 19:17)
John 15:5
Ezekiel 36:26, 27

For that is why the 24 elders cast their crowns down before Jesus (Revelation 4:10). For the crowns they received for their good work was all the result of Christ working in them.

Yeah, but doesn't a believer do the work, too? Now, yes, it is true; A believer is created unto Christ Jesus for good works (Ephesians 2:10); And a believer is indeed held accountable by their "good works" here upon this Earth at a Judgment. But we must also realize that true believers are not ultimately doing these "good works" alone or of their own power, though. For as I said before, in 1 Corinthians 15:10 Paul said that he labored more than all of his brethren, yet he said it was not him that labored but it was the grace of God that was within him. So true believer's are just choosing to allow God's "good work" to flow within them or not. Don't believe me? Just do a study on all of the verses above in prayer and you will see. Ask the Lord to show you the truth on this, and He will show it to you (Jeremiah 33:3).

Again, your putting the cart (works) before the horse (salvation).

Works and a life of holiness always follows salvation.

Jesus accomplished salvation for us. So all we have to do is receive His free gift (Which is by repenting (confessing) of our sins and in accepting Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior - Believing He died for our sins upon the cross, was in the tomb 3 days, and then rose from the grave). From there, if you sin, you confess that sin, and continue to abide in the Lord.

Repentance or Confession is not a work because it is in trusting in God that He will forgive you. It is in throwing yourself upon the mercy of God and taking it by faith that He will forgive you. There is no major effort in repentance. There is no set appointed time that you have to arrange your schedule to repent or sweat and or work hard at repenting. The same is true of accepting Jesus and believing in the gospel. Repentance, acceptance of Christ, and believing the gospel is not like a job. For Jesus said His burden was light. There is no real effort in repentance. In fact, God is the One who grants us repentance (2 Timothy 2:25).

be baptized Mk 16:16
We are not saved by works. It is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8-9). For we are not saved by righteous works that we have done, but by his mercy, and the washing and renewing of the Holy Ghost (Titus 3:5). For Mark 16:16 is not saying baptism is for salvation. Peter already clears up that confusion in Peter 3:21 when he says we are saved not for the putting away of the filth of the flesh. Paul mentions how we are to cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh (2 Corinthians 7:1). Both Paul and Peter were not talking about taking a bath.

I have already talked to another poster about my photo in private and they do not see what you are talking about. I can't help my appearance. I am smiling in love in the photo. Please stop judging by outward appearances. You are not God to know what is in my heart in the photo. And I do not believe I appear to have an appearance of evil in the photograph, either. Please ask God to help you to see the truth on this. I beg you.

You are right we are not saved by works, we are saved by perseverance to stay true to our Lord Jesus Christ and what He taught.

James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

Matthew 24:10-13
And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Matthew 10:22
And you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Hebrews 12:1-3
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.

Hebrews 10:36
For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.

Hebrews 3:12-14
Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.

2 Timothy 4:2-8
Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come.

1 Timothy 4:16
Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.

1 Corinthians 9:24-25
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.

Mark 13:9-13
“But be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten in synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them. And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations. And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. And brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death. And you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

I could do one better..... I can show where Christ was baptised...in water... and where Paul was baptised to wash away sins...

As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.

Acts 22:16
And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’

I'm not judging g your looks. I am just saying that when people see that pic. The first thing that comes to mind is smartallelic.

I think it would do you well if you just sat back and did another pic without the smirk. I'm trying to help and mean no ill. But people are beings of sight.

Read John 13:8-10 where Peter contend with Jesus about the washing of his feet. Peter says not just his feet, but parts of the rest of his body. Jesus tells him no, for he who has already been bathed ( baptized ) is already clean only needs his feet washed ( sign of humbling yourself / serve and not be served ).

First, if you didn't want to be rude, you would have sent me a PM. Second, this is an off topic conversation. Third, I don't believe that I look sinister in any way in the photo. Yet you are implying that I look sinister in some way. You are judging me based on my looks; And so are those people who told you so, too. This is forbidden by Jesus Christ. Do you want to disobey Jesus? Because that is what you are doing, my friend. For you believe there is something wrong in my photo. I don't believe that. I made the statement that what you believe at first glance is not true. So then, on some level, you must believe I am lying. Which would be another false accusation. Jesus says to judge righteous Judgment and not by the outward appearance. Yet you are still judging me based on my outward appearance. Please just stop. Talk to God. Right now. No, don't keep typing. Talk to God right now! I believe that what you are doing is seriously wrong. For you are wrong in your accusation against me. And you need to talk to God about it and not other human beings who are flawed.

Yes, but like I said Jesus told Peter that because he and the others was already washed ( baptized ) they did not need to have their whole body washed ( cleansed ) again.

Now they are to do as He himself came to do, humble themselves and serve others instead of to be served.
