A Muslim is someone who follows the Islamic religion. Islam means "submission". To be a Muslim, you must say that Muhammad is a true prophet.

As far as what they disagree with Christians about, Muslims do not believe that Jesus is the son of God.

You can read the quran online in english if you want to study the text they consider to be revelations from Allah. Also, something I have found many Christians don't realize is that Muslims and Christians worship the same God. The word "Allah" is just the Arabic translation of God. They believe Allah is the God of Moses and Abraham. What they don't believe is that Jesus was God. They believe that Jesus was a prophet of Allah, but not equal to Allah. They believe that the Christian Bible was written by men and corrupted God's true word, and that their prophet Mohammed recieved revelations from God and that the Quaran is really what God teaches. There are lots of places in the quaran that are the same stories and even exact verses a few times from the old testament. Forgive me if I got any of this wrong, but I think all this is true.

Only people who say God of the bible and the god of the Koran are the same are Muslims and Muslim supporters. At least that's my experience.

They beleive that Jesus is just a prophet. they don't believe that Jesus is the Son of God. and Is God. Along with many other things that goes against the Christian belief. many of there interpretations goes against the Christian beliefs too. Same goes for Mormans, Jehovah witness, and Seven day adventists, and many other religions and faiths.

No Offence taken, Just wonderring why you joined a Christian site talking about muslim, We love them, we respect them, and yes even though this is a multi christian chat forum site. Muslim and Christian are 2 different beliefs. and sadly at war against each other. Sad but true. You have the extreme Muslims who kill Christians because of there faith and belief, and you got Christians who love for there faith and belief. Muslims has there reasons to kill Christians, as Christians has there reasons to believe what they believe. But respect to the Muslims brothers and sisters, God loves them.

You may be a Muslim if ...

1. You refine heroin for a living, but you have a moral objection to liquor.
2. You own a $3,000 machine gun and $5,000 rocket launcher, but you can't afford shoes.
3. You have more wives than teeth.
4. You can read, but only have one book.
5. You wipe your butt with your bare hand, but consider bacon unclean.
6. You think vests come in two styles: bullet-proof and suicide.
7. You can't think of anyone you haven't declared Jihad against.
8. You consider television dangerous, but routinely carry explosives in your clothing.
9. You are amazed that cell phones have uses other than setting off roadside bombs.
10. You have nothing against women and think every man should own at least four.

The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called 'hypocrites' and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.

The word Muslim comes from a root word meaning 'peace', and can be translated something like 'humility' or 'submission'. The Quran teaches that Jesus is the Messiah, that he was born of a virgin, that he was the most sinless of all the prophets of God, and will return one day to bring peace upon the Earth, but that he is not God's biological son, but rather a 'true follower' of God. He is a 'son of God' to Muslims no more than Adam is a 'son of God'; both were formed without Earthly fathers.

Muslims make up 20% of the Earth's population and most live in Southeast Asia - the Phillipines, Indonesia etc, and only 20% are Arabs. Ninety three percent of Muslims do not support war, and most Muslims view the 'Jihad' as meaning that they must struggle with their inner sinful desires, not with others.

Most Muslims, particularly outside Arab states, also do not practice the oppression of women, since women are to be respected as mothers of men. Unfortunately, the minority who do oppress women get the most press.

Muslims do not worship Muhammed, but rather consider him the last prophet, while Abraham was the first. They also consider Adam to be the first Muslim.

The core beliefs of Islam are the belief in a singular, universal God who created all things, who judges actions by their intent, who teaches that man should love for others what he loves for himself, that he should not harm others and that being part of the world is not about financial or Earthly gain but about wisdom, compassion and love.

The most common misconception about Islam is that which says 'Mohammed is worshipped', or 'Mohammed is perfect'. In fact, Mohammed was openly a sinner, like Moses or Abraham, men who were not perfect, and Mohammed pointed to Jesus as the one to bring peace upon the Earth, not himself.

The other common misconception is about Sharia. Sharia simply is a code of conduct, where a person should have particularly good intents and perspectives in certain things. These things are:

Religion, sanctity of life, family, the mind, prosperity and liberty. Sharia are the essentials to human welfare, what each person should bear in mind in all thought, intent and decision.

The vast majority of Muslims also believe not only in the freedom of religion, but that it is their duty to protect the oppressed, no-matter what faith they are.

It's unfortunate because Islam is not a religion of hatred anymore than Christianity is, yet those hateful members of each give the whole a very unfortunate press.

"It's unfortunate because Islam is not a religion of hatred anymore than Christianity is, yet those hateful members of each give the whole a very unfortunate press". In what barrel of sand has your head been buried in?

The Quran is the only 'revealed' book in existence whose followers believe that its contents are the 'words of Allah' to be obeyed totally, literally and for all time, without any change.

It is also the only 'book of religion' that is full of hatred towards all those who do not believe in it and its 'author' Muhammad.

It is the only 'holy' book that is held by its adherents with one hand, while holding a sword, a bomb or a gun in the other and calling upon the name of Allah in unbrideled hatred towards all others.

It is the only book which attributes to its Allah plenty of Mercy and Compassion but none to the UNBELIEVERS while its followers have absolutely none even towards each others' sects.

It is estimated that the words slaughter, kill, murder and fight appear 35,213 times in the Quran and Ahadith. And yet, contrary to the facts and reality, Muhammadan scholars and their apologists speak of Muhammadan Islam as a religion of peace.

As to what Muslims believe about Jesus Christ:

Muslims do not believe that Jesus died on the cross
as the Bible says in Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, and John 19 .

Muslims differ among themselves as to exactly how Jesus escaped from death. A key Qur’an verse is as follows:
  • “That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Apostle of Allah”;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise” (Surah 4:157-158)

im married to a Muslim and he says muslims believe Jesus was only a prophet like Mohammed and that he did not get crucified because god loved him so. he was assumed up into heaven on that day and a criminal was put to death in his place. they also strongly beive in only one god and do not believe in the trinity at all.

Why are you on a Christian site asking about Muslim beliefs though? Two different religions.
Your answer "Why are you on a Christian site asking about Muslim beliefs though? Two different religions." is like going to a doctor and he ask you, "Why are you sick?" The question asked, "I'm struggling to understand what a Muslim is and what they agree disagree with?" may have been asked at an Islamic "site" where an answer was given.

As Christians we must be able to answer why another religion is wrong and then give an answer as to why we believe what we believe as a Christian. If we don't have an answer then we must find one. Then answer the question. A soul may be at stake.

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:" 1 Peter3:15

#Beliver, it's not obligatory for a muslim woman to wear a vale but to cover your body. Many people say that they can't even do fashion or make up n all that but I'm a muslim woman and that's not the truth. You can do how much fashion you want, you can put on how much make up you want but not in a way that every guy look at you when you go out. Just cover you body :)
