Dear frustrating sort of supervisor,

Be more x is not useful feedback. You need to tell me what you want me to do not some vague abstract idea. If being x were something I naturally did well, you wouldn't have to tell me to be more x now would you? Also, I hate the whole indirect communication thing, feels like people are tattling on me instead of trying to help me. And if I tell you I need more information, saying you already gave me the information is not helpful. I found your information insufficient that is why I'm asking for more.

Dear internet,

Thank you for listening when I vent and for being a place I can say all the things I want to say but know it would not be wise to say in real life.

Dear cinder: Are you sure your boss is not a refugee from a Dilbert cartoon? Cause it sounds like something Dilbert's boss would say.

I'm hooked on game of thrones... again. :/ Only a few more episodes left though.

I've never watched Game Of Thrones, I was hooked on the Tudors.

And apparently you read alt-text mouseovers. ;)

Wait, scratch that... the alt-text was "coincidentally the only way to break this cycle is to die."

Dear Lynx,

No my sort of boss is an Asian who has most likely not been outside her own cultural context. She therefore thinks that her feedback is perfectly clear and needs some help and Western style thinking skills to understand that she needs to say things in a different way or present it differently to get it through my thick head. Some of this may end up being a my personality does not fit the corporate culture well but right now it is a case of even though she is using English words and thinks she is speaking English, she is not defining her intent and desired outcomes clearly or giving measurable targets to achieve. Either that or I am not a good listener. I guess communication takes 2.

(not quite as steamed and defensive now, I just don't like feeling like a failure with no clear idea of how to even fix it)

Emotionally, I'm still tired...physically, I am still not. About 5 and a half hours of sleep for me was enough to get me through the day, I guess.

I also got about five and a half hours of sleep last night... but I took about an hour and a half nap after church. Just got up.

My brain is being all like, "SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAK!! MWAHAHAHAAA!" right now. So no nap for me, and hopefully tonight will be a better chance of falling asleep.

The second half of that is "Caffeine conquers all!" Or at least that's what a World of Warcraft nut told me when I asked him, between playing WoW 10 hours a day and working at our job 8 hours a day... and lunch break, and travel time to and from work... how he got enough sleep.

But did you know? They did a study of people who fall asleep in church and found that if everyone who falls asleep during church was laid end to end... they'd be a lot more comfortable. :D

Wait... bacon? Y'all are cooking? Is this church or dinner or what? And who's bringing the bacon flavored mayo? (Yes there really is such a thing.)
