Hell is a real place and not a parable. I think it's funny how people pick and choose saying oh that was a parable ( Jesus was just fibbing). When He explained the parables to the disciples afterwards.
This is the serious perniciousness of the cult claims. They refute plain teachings of our Lord Jesus in the Bible, all the time, try to shred His teachings. They call our Lord Jesus a liar, incessantly. It is sinful filth, and it is more serious than a heart attack.

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

I'm still waiting. Provide the post and show me the scripture that proves I have ever called Christ a liar. You certainly are free with the name calling. For a 46 year old you are very immature. Were you raised without parents to correct you?

That's what the cross does it steps on their sacred cow and makes them mad.
You shine a light on it, and they go ballistic, as if foaming at the mouth. They can't stand it, go bonkers when their lies are drained, nothing left but for the fangs to come out.

John 3:19-21 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

You need to get yourself up from the foot of the cross and study to show yourself approved instead of insulting people. You are no Christian that's for certain.

At least we're not cowards. We will back up what we say and do it without casting doubts upon our parents.

You guys are both immature little mud-slinging cowards who have no backbones or anything to say other than spiteful and hateful things to others. You both are shams. I am done with you both.

to understand hell one first must understand what it is that puts an individual there. regardless of what others believe, every one stands before the judgement seat of Christ without excuse. we do this with full enlightenment from the presence of Jesus. those who stand before Christ that have not confessed and repented of their sins BEFORE their day of judgement are sentenced to hell. hell is where the unrepentant sinner experiences all of the sins on themselves that they committed on others with out repentance. they relive the horror that their own victims did. they know while they are going through this, that they are deserving of it and the terror of foreknowing what it is that is coming next for them. as Jesus said in luke 12:59

there must be a chance to come out of there after the debt is paid or Jesus would not have said luke 12:59. i know many who would disagree with that concept and provide scripture, but Jesus is the one who paid for all our debts and Jesus will decide when all our debts are settled. those that serve the blood of Christ, are crucified with Christ and continue the work of Christ. they become like Christ and are adopted as a child of God and co-heir of Christ. the book of romans explains it quite well.

I too know the Christ is coming again but to establish His Kingdom here on this earth. I see no scripture that promises that anyone at all flies off to Heaven. I do see where the risen saints will serve as kings, priests, and judges in the EARTHLY kingdom.

If you were to read the Scriptures correctly, you would find that the Bride of Christ is the New Jerusalem - not the Church. The Church is the body of Christ - not His bride. More false doctrine.
Prove with scripture those statements. Completely and utterly false. What exactly do you think the following passage means? How are you going to twist it? It is clear language. It means what it says.

2 Peter 3:10-13 "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. [SUP] [/SUP]Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Righteousness does not, and never will dwell on earth. Not as long as man inhabits it. Only on that day, when we are transformed in the twinkling of an eye, into a new body that is not carnal, not fleshly(because a carnal body is a sinful body) will we dwell in righteousness, on a new earth.

I agree with you there Phil. Scripture is clear that the old earth is consumed with flames (lake of fire), and the LORD will make a new earth which will be the eternal abode of the saints.

God Bless

As promised when I returned from the weekend trip to Epcot - This is my understanding of Hell.

Many times when hell is talked about in the Bible it is referring to the grave where the dead rest. Questions about Hell would also go with a study I did on the thread titled Question About Death Post #5.

Personally I think that we are living in Hell here on earth, everyday one temptation after another. The smoker wants his cigarettes, the obese person such as myself constantly tempted by food. You name your sin you got your poison to fill it...Then add all the chaos and terrible things we humans do to each other. The way Hell is taught and misrepresented is another lie by the way, just scare tactic to try and get people to follow God...what a joke.

No one in their right mind would want to follow or love a vindictive God who is just out to punish someone because they messed up. Where is the justice in the first person born that told one lie and has been burning since the worlds been turning and then you have the mass murderers in our day and age and they burn for a shorter period of time just because of when they were born? This is not fair or just and it is not how our God works. Ezekiel 18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies, says the Lord God. Therefore turn and live.

God's character has been misrepresented as every act God performs is an act of love. Other wise why would He even have bothered to send Jesus to die on the cross for us if He just wanted to punish and torment us for eternity. He could have saved a lot of time by just zapping us out of existence with the first sin committed and Satan would not be here to tempt anyone as sin started in heaven with Lucifer = (Satan, Devil).

The earth will be purified by fire in the end as Satan and the wicked angels and humans who decided to not accept Jesus as their personal Savior will be burned up in the lake of fire that God will kindle. But as any fire when the fuel is burned up the fire will go out.

Both the wicked and the righteous are resting in their graves and at the second coming of Jesus the righteous will rise to eternal life (1 Thessalonians 4:16 &17) and at the end of the 1000 years that Satan has been bound on this earth the wicked dead will be raised from the death of sleep to eternal damnation (Revelation 20:9). They will be destroyed by fire and will be eternally wiped out of existence. Malachi 4:3 You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this, Says the Lord of hosts. Obadiah 16 last part... And they shall be as though they had never been.

My Bible says GOD IS LOVE in the book of John.

Hell is not burning right at this moment tormenting people and people don't go to heaven at the moment they die I would suggest going to read the thread title above first as understanding of Hell kind of goes hand in hand with understanding of death. Hell will be real at the end of this sinful earth's history as God will purify this earth with fire and burn up the wicked at that time. Death will also be done away with at that time.

Actually I haven't read any of her publicans but if she and the JW's teach that Hell is only the grave and nothing more, then at least she and the JW's have that going for them which is more than the Baptists have.
Oh Hell is DEFINITELY for real and FOREVER. I stood in the doorway two nights in a row the week I attempted suicide three times the last week of December 1977. I had the pistol against my head and the trigger half pulled, and a TERROR overwhelmed my body, because I knew if I finished pulling that trigger, I was going straight to HADES, and later to HELL; because everything in my being KNEW HELL was FOREVER. It was a TERROR way beyond what a man holding a knife to my throat could ever cause me to feel.

I take it you do not believe the Bible either.

Revelation 14:9-11 (ISV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying in a loud voice, "Whoever worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or his hand
[SUP]10 [/SUP] will drink the wine of God's wrath, which has been poured unmixed into the cup of his anger. He will be tortured with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and the lamb.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] The smoke from their torture goes up forever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image or for anyone who receives the mark of its name."

Revelation 20:15 (ISV)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.

I take it that you DO NOT BELIEVE JESUS either.

Matthew 25:41 (ISV)
[SUP]41 [/SUP] "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Get away from me, you who are accursed, into the eternal fire that has been prepared for the devil and his angels!

Matthew 25:46 (ISV)
[SUP]46 [/SUP] These people will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life."

Matthew 13:40-43 (ISV)
[SUP]40 [/SUP] Just as weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so it will be at end of the age.
[SUP]41 [/SUP] The Son of Man will send his angels, and they'll gather from his kingdom everything that causes others to sin and those who practice lawlessness,
[SUP]42 [/SUP] and they'll throw them into a blazing furnace. In that place there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. {an expression for ongoing bitterness towards GOD, with still NO REPENTENCE}
[SUP]43 [/SUP] Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father's kingdom. Let the person who has ears listen!"

I take it that means you have no spiritual ears to hear with either.

Read Luke 16:19-31- it gives a good example of what happens to the righteous and unrighteous after they die.

If you were to read the Scriptures correctly, you would find that the Bride of Christ is the New Jerusalem - not the Church. The Church is the body of Christ - not His bride. More false doctrine.
Then you are blind to the TRUTH:

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (HCSB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord.
[SUP]18 [/SUP] Therefore encourage one another with these words.

John 14:2-3 (ASV)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
{EXACTLY WORD FOR WORD what the Bridegroom tells the Bride when she accepts his proposal.}
[SUP]3 [/SUP] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

{The Bridegroom always came at night to steal the Bride away to go with Him to the new dwelling place to begin the Wedding Ceremony, when the Father said it was finished. That is part of the Jewish Wedding traditions that every Jew knows. You would do well to study them.}

Revelation 19:9 (NIV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!'" And he added, "These are the true words of God."
1 Corinthians 15:51-52 (HCSB)
[SUP]51 [/SUP] Listen! I am telling you a mystery: We will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed,
[SUP]52 [/SUP] in a moment, in the blink of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 (NASB)

[SUP]9 [/SUP] For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Revelation 3:10-11 (NKJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.

THE CALLING OUT OF THE BRIDE, to go to the Wedding of the LAMB happens VERY QUICKLY!

Matthew 24:27 (HCSB)
[SUP]27 [/SUP] For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

THAT IS NOT TRUE ABOUT THE SECOND COMING to set up HIS thousand year KINGDOM, but it IS true about HIS GLORIOUS APPEARING IN THE CLOUDS TO CALL OUT HIS BRIDE. His Second Coming happens SO SLOW that ALL the armies of the world have time to gather in the valley of Megiddo (Armageddon) to try to stop HIM from setting foot on earth again.

Revelation 17:13-14 (NIV)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers."

Revelation 19:11-21 (NASB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.
[SUP]12 [/SUP] His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.
[SUP]15 [/SUP] From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.
[SUP]16 [/SUP] And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS."
[SUP]17 [/SUP] Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds which fly in midheaven, "Come, assemble for the great supper of God,
[SUP]18 [/SUP] so that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, both free men and slaves, and small and great."
[SUP]19 [/SUP] And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
[SUP]20 [/SUP] And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone.
[SUP]21 [/SUP] And the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.

t
NOW THINK FOR ONE MINUTE. How long did we take to assemble the Armies involved in Desert Storm, before we were ready to MAKE WAR? That is the description of HIS SECOND COMING, Very Slow. That is NOT as lightning flashes from the East to the West. That is NOT as HE said about His Appearing to Call Out His Bride, "Behold, I am coming quickly" That is NOT in "the twinkling of an eye" or "the blink of an eye" as some translations say. His Appearing in the Clouds is NOT His Second Coming. It is Not a Coming until His feet touch the ground and the Mount of Olives SPLITS.
t

Zechariah 14:3-5 (HCSB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Then the LORD will go out to fight against those nations as He fights on a day of battle.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. The Mount of Olives will be split in half from east to west, forming a huge valley, so that half the mountain will move to the north and half to the south.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] You will flee by My mountain valley, for the valley of the mountains will extend to Azal. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come and all the holy ones with Him.

Revelation 14:20 (HCSB)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] Then the press was trampled outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press up to the horses’ bridles for about 180 miles.

Even so, Come Lord Jesus!

Titus 2:13 (HCSB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] while we wait for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Question: "Who will go to hell?"

Answer:
Hell has become a controversial subject in recent years, even among Christians. However, the controversy is entirely man-made. The rejection of the reality of hell stems from a human inability to reconcile the love of God with eternal punishment or from an outright rejection of God’s Word. Even some professing Christians have come to unbiblical conclusions. Some have tried to redefine hell, create an intermediate state not found in Scripture, or deny hell altogether. In doing so, they are ignoring Jesus’ warning in Revelation 22:19, “If anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.”

Hell is mentioned 167 times in the Bible, sometimes called Gehenna, Hades, the pit, the Abyss, or everlasting punishment (Proverbs 7:27; Luke 8:31; 10:15; 2 Thessalonians 1:9). Jesus spoke of heaven and hell as real places (Matthew 13:41–42; 23:33; Mark 9:43–47; Luke 12:5). The story Jesus told about the rich man and Lazarus was an actual event that demonstrated the reality of the two eternal destinations (Luke 16:19–31). Heaven is the dwelling place of God (2 Chronicles 30:27) where Jesus has gone to “prepare a place” for those who love Him (John 14:2). Hell was created for “the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41). But because every human being is a sinner, every person past the age of accountability has already been condemned to hell (Romans 3:10; 5:12; John 3:18). We all deserve hell as the just punishment for our rebellion against God (Romans 6:23).

Jesus was clear that “no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again” (John 3:3). He was also clear that hell is an eternal punishment for those who do not obey Him (Matthew 25:46). Second Thessalonians 1:8–9 says that in the end God “will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.” John the Baptist said about Jesus, “His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire” (Matthew 3:12).

John 3:18 explains in the simplest terms who will go to heaven and who will go to hell: “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” So, those who go to hell are specifically those who do not believe in Jesus’ name. To “believe” goes beyond a mental recognition of the truth. To believe in Christ for salvation requires a transfer of allegiance. We stop worshiping ourselves, we forsake our sin, and we begin to worship God with our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Matthew 22:36–27; Mark 12:30).

God desires that every person spend eternity with Him (Matthew 18:14; 2 Peter 3:9), but He honors our free will (John 4:14). Anyone who so desires can go to heaven (John 1:12). Jesus already paid the price for our salvation, but we must accept that gift and transfer ownership of our lives to Him (Luke 9:23). Heaven is perfect, and God cannot take anyone there who insists on holding on to his or her sin. We must allow Him to cleanse us of our sin and make us righteous in His sight (2 Corinthians 5:21). John 1:10–12 shows us the problem and the solution: “He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”

We can choose to trust in Jesus’ payment for our sin, or we can choose to pay for our sins ourselves—but we must remember that the payment for our sin is eternity in hell. C. S. Lewis said it this way: “There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says in the end, ‘Thy will be done.’”

Indeed it is a real place. It is the grave, the pit, a hole in the ground, the sea if that's one's resting place. In the eighteenth century the people of England put their apples into hell for winter's keeping.
Revelation 14:11 (ISV)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] The smoke from their torture goes up forever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image or for anyone who receives the mark of its name."

Matthew 25:41 (HCSB)
[SUP]41 [/SUP] Then He will also say to those on the left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels!

So, could you tell us again why you Do Not believe the BIBLE or JESUS, and can still call yourself a Christian?

What I am telling you is that you are speaking of the Lake of Fire - not the false Hell of punishing you speak of where one goes when one dies. You're the one who doesn't know of what he preaches. If you accomplish nothing else, at least get those two straight for once and for all.

[SUP]41 [/SUP] The Son of Man will send his angels, and they'll gather from his kingdom everything that causes others to sin and those who practice lawlessness,
[SUP]42 [/SUP] and they'll throw them into a blazing furnace. In that place there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. {an expression for ongoing bitterness towards GOD, with still NO REPENTENCE}
[SUP]43 [/SUP] Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father's kingdom. Let the person who has ears listen!"

I take it that means you have no spiritual ears to hear with either.
Here it is in plain English:

Rev 21:9
And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
Rev 21:10
And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

There it is. Plainly says the New Jerusalem is the Bride of Christ.
