Throughout the new testament the Father, Son and Spirit are referred to as distinct and separate persons.
To believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct and separate is to believe in 3 gods no matter how fervently you protest that you do not.

There is 1 God ''The Father'' who became a man ''The Son'' and is a Spirit ''The Holy Spirit'' there is not 3 gods, there is not 3 separate distinct people or persons of the Godhead or ''Trinity'', God is ONE period.

Jesus is not 1/3 God He is fully God, Trinitarian claim they believe this but deny that He is the Father or Holy Spirit. To believe that Jesus is the Son of God only is to not believe He is God at all, and to believe He is God the Son only, is to believe He is only 1/3 of the Godhead, only 1/3 of the ''Trinity'' and to believe this is to believe that Jesus is only 1/3 God or a separate god from the Father, and Holy Spirit. Trinitarians deny that they believe Jesus is a separate god from the Father yet claim He is not the Father, they deny that they believe He is only 1/3 God, yet that is exactly what they teach.

Wings,

Your failure to comprehend what trinitarians believe does not give you the right to falsely accuse them.

The term "God" is not a name nor does it refer to a singular being. It is a class of being. Just like the term "human" refers to a class of being we also refer to mankind or humanity. God is also referred to as deity or divine nature.

There are three person revealed in scripture with a divine nature, called deity, called God. They are the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

There are many passages that clearly indicate a subject/object distinction between the three.

So are denying the Trinity now? Or did I misread that?

Nonsense.

The Trinity has more biblical support than Modalism will ever hope to have. It can easily be proven from scripture that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit all co-exist at the same time:

John 12:28 where there is dialogue between Jesus and His Father.

If it is Jesus talking to Himself in heaven while he is on earth that makes no sense.

Jesus is not the same as the Father, the Father was in Him yes but Jesus was not the Father. God didn't become a man, God sent His Son who came from God but Jesus was not the Father in a human body.

The distinctions in scripture between the Son of God and God (aka the Father) can easily be seen:

1Jn 5:10 He who believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself. He who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he does not believe the record that God gave of His Son.
1Jn 5:11 And this is the record, that God has given to us everlasting life, and this life is in His Son.

You do not believe what trinitarians believe, you are further off than they are. I was raised in a trinitarian church and still go to one today. Believe me they do not believe God to be a class of being, with the separate beings as part of this class. That would be more like what the mormons teach and is 100% polytheistic. Any trinitarian would reject what you claim they believe.

Trinitarians teach there is 1 God, in 3 persons namely the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. they do not believe in 3 ''gods'' as you claim they do.

P.S. they really do, but they will deny that they do.

Matthew 3:15-17 is a good Trinitarian verse, as is I John 5:7.

The term often translated God in Hebrew (ie. Gen. 1) is Elohim and is a plural term. The OT name for God is Yahweh (Jehovah) and that name is also applied to all three persons. Interestingly it is a family name not an individual name.

Try actually reading some definitive works on the doctrine of the trinity. Study the contexts of the verses given.

Your statement about 1 God in 3 persons is spot on. That is the same thing as class of being (1 what) and three persons (3 who).

You are the one that says they believe in 3 gods, which I explicitly deny. Don't know how you suggest that I said otherwise.

Could be that you don't read closely enough.

I am not a modalist???? and to deny that Jesus is the Father is to deny that Jesus is God at all. Jesus tells us Himself that the Father is the only true God, and Paul confirms it. There is not God the Son or God the Holy Spirit. There is only God the Father, the Son of God and the Spirit of God.

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

1st cor 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Matthew 3:15-17 is a good Trinitarian verse, as is I John 5:7.
John 5:7 proves Oneness not Trinity. The 3 are 1 not that the 1 are 3 as trinitarians teach, and remember I attend a trinitarian church so accusing me of not knowing what you teach will not work.

Because I do not bow to what you assume to be true means I am the one deceived? How vain and arrogant of you.

If Jesus is God the Father as you falsely claim, how could Christ not know the time of the second coming? See Mark 13:32.

onwings aren't you saying they are the same person.
Was Jesus always talking to Himself? Did Jesus go to heaven and give them another Comforter (the Spirit) who was simply Jesus Himself transformed into a Spirit? Was Jesus lying when he said another comforter?
No, Jesus has a fully human glorified body Jesus is not a spirit.

John 17:3 and 1 Cor 8:6, yes the one God is the Father, AND one Lord Jesus Christ...who is obviously not the Father. That's why they are mentioned separately and distinctly as two different persons. Read the verses properly. These verses actually show that Jesus is not the Father.

And if it couldn't be clearer, Jesus said the Father was greater than Him (John 14:28).
If Jesus was the Father was Jesus saying "I am greater than myself" , which makes no sense.

Sorry but arrogance to me would be claiming Trinitarians worship 3 gods. The fault lies with your own lack of understanding of the doctrine (or bible for that matter), not us. You are deceived, that's the simple truth of the matter.

Yes I do. Explain that according to your false anti-trinitarian doctrine.

So if Father is only God and Jesus is as you say obviously not the Father, then is it your claim that Jesus is not God?

Amen, and agreed. The trinity is one of those doctrines that came from the beginning.

I told you I was raised and still attend a trinitarian church. I understand the doctrine, it is just false and not scriptural.

Agreeing with something and understanding it are 2 different things.
