1 Corinthians 4:3
But with me it is a very small thing that I should bejudged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself.
Well you should apply that unto yourself and study the word hypocrite.....

This was difficult and sad to read. I've always been curious if other christians besides myself have ever considered what the following verse from Joshua meant ... and pertains to, seeing that this book was written roughly 500 - 600 yrs. B.C. Does it have any relevance in regards to today's State of Israel ... and if it does, what exactly does this mean ? I'm not looking for debate on the topic. I'm just curious if others have wondered as I do. And would or does this make me " unchristian " to even consider it ? ......... Joshua 21:45 Not one of all the Lord's good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.

Are you referring to the cowards hiding behind woman and children calling on the world to stop Israel from attacking them?

a simple question. not sure why there is any moral ambivalence on the matter.

The Russell Tribunal on Palestine’s Emergency Session on Israel’s Operation Protective Edge held yesterday in Brussels has found evidence of war crimes, crimes against humanity, crimes of murder, extermination and persecution and also incitement to genocide.

Anybody can throw one liners at people to try and rowdy up the crowd. Give us your opinion or make a statement. If you don’t have the answers don’t troll around making noises…

my opinion is: Israeli crimes are not sanctioned by God, and neither is the State.

Now we are getting somewhere :) Israel (the peace of land) is sanctioned from God and was from the first day God made the covenant with Abraham.

The statement that Israeli crimes are not sanctioned from God is one we can argue both ways. God used Pharaoh to turn Israel back to Him. We can see this as a forced attempt from God to turn Judah back to Him. I don’t know if you have noticed how many of the Jewish people are starting to accept Jesus Christ as the Messiah? God is definitely moving in Israel at the moment …

Thou art the LORD the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham;

And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, I say, to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous:

Mapped below is the piece of land sanctioned from God to ancient Israel. Is this what you refer to and is it ours as christians to help them re-establish these borders ? My personal dilemma regarding today's Israel (and wondering) is predicated on this reality. How does any honest person (or christian, for that matter) disregard this truth when relating to the land promise given from God to ancient Israel ? And where does Joshua 21:45 factor into the equation, if at all ? Anyways ... these are questions I can't ignore ... and seek an answer to.

keepitsimple,

God's promises and pledges are eternal but unfortunately His people
have found it a hardship to obey His instructions, they neglected to
'drive out all of the people of Caanan as He told them to do,
'they BROKE the Holy Covenant in several ways, there has been nothing
but trouble ever since.

God made the promise, but there is a secular 'government' that does not
totally submit to His will, in particular in giving-away large swaths of land
like the Gaza Strip, so in essence, they gave away what was not theirs,
because they gave away the land that 'belonged to God'.
Solomon was one of the first to be guilty of this, hence today's -
reaping what they have sown in the past and in this present age.

we ourselves, servants of the Most High God, are commanded to pray
for the peace of Jerusalem, and so we shall, those of us who know and feel
the ancient connection with All of Isreal.

Consider the boundaries of the new Jerusalem (and I am guessing here) will the walls not fit into this map?

This is all good questions but if you think about it, if all the promises regarding Israel stopped with Joshua why was anything written in the Bible after that? I actually did open my Bible to read this verse but when I looked at the original Hebrew found the translation to be “There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.” Which make for a different read.

Now can I ask you two questions;
1)why did Israel split between Judah and Israel and where are the two tribes today?

2)why did Jesus say he only came for the lost sheep of Israel but the later on it is the gentiles? Did God change his mind?
