Romans 5:1,2 "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand."

Just on this verse alone we have a problem with "works" or baptism being part of our justification before God.

Acts 4:12 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

Sorry but if your "works" or baptism were part then there would be two names..not one.
who commanded us to be baptised? who commanded us to do good works...?...you want to gain access into his grace by faith without works....tell us how you do that...

I never said "don't be baptized". I never said "don't do good works". Tell me where I have ever said not to do those. All I have been saying is we are justified by faith. In fact I just quoted Romans 5:1,2 where Paul tells us how we are justified. Are you saying Paul has it wrong?

Our faith will be shown through our good works and our baptism by water is a public confession before others as our "giving of ourselves" to God. But you CANNOT add those to justification, redemption, reconciliation, salvation or sactification. Especially when we are told over and over in the Bible (the very Word of God) that only by the blood of Christ are any of those possible. And only by the grace of God could we even think about giving ourselves to God.

Note worthy...

Psalm 40

1 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.
4 Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord, thou knowest.
10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.
13 Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me.
14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.
16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified.
17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

Amen brother and I appreciate it......I know I get controversial some times and a lot of times the things I say seem to be out of anger and they are not.....the problem with text and or just words on a page is the fact that motive, intention, demeanor etc. cannot be seen nor judged unless the wording is obvious.......anyway....Thanks again and I appreciate the kind words....
May the Lord continue to bless all who will make a rock solid stand on the truth and open the eyes of all who are in darkness and for the record.......if I have been offensive in my words I apologize to all............

In Christ
Dave

Look it is obvious to everyone who knows the truth that you do the following...
1. Reject scripture in context
2. Ignore the meaning of words used in context
3. Follow the teachings of heretical men
4. Fail to acknowledge truth
5. Deny the truth
6. Are not open to learning and instruction
7. Continually oppose the truth in favor of a heretical dogma

The order is

LOST-->HEAR the WORD-->BELIEVE the WORD-->Acknowledge the WORD-->GAIN ETERNAL LIFE so...like I have said...Keep trusting into your watered down blood which does not cover and pay the eternal price....

The PASSOVER is a PICTURE of SAVLATION and PRESERVATION

WHEN I SEE THE BLOOD..I WILL PASS OVER YOU<----NO WATER...Good luck with your pseudo gospel of a different kind!

sounds familiar, Oh wait. I know..

[SUP]13 [/SUP]In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, [SUP]14 [/SUP]who[SUP][b][/SUP] is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

is it not you who posted this....clear as day it says repent and be baptised ....and you say that it is false...

read over post #685....you don't understand what I mean according to your understanding?.....it means you lack understanding...your response is proof...

lol, You still have not responded to that post. All you do is go in circles.

So who is it who lacks understanding?

Your also not very humble. you made a comment, I proved your comment was false. (remember there was no verses in the origional tet) yet you go back to the same old argument, which you still have not responded to..

sad.

never said you did just asked who said we must be and why...?
Luke 3:2-4King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

[SUP]3 [/SUP]And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

[SUP]4 [/SUP]As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Acts 2:38

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

repentance and baptism for the remission of sins is preparing the way of the Lord...your reason for baptism is wrong...
Acts 19:2-4King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]2 [/SUP]He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Acts 8:12
But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Acts 2:38

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

this is supposed to be proof we do not obey the lord.

Dude everyone who has been here has heard all of us say we not only obeyed God in baptism, but expect others to do the same.

How can you live with yourself making such false claims?

Now, do you have some real proof? or just alot of hot air?

I really think he is not only blind, but also a false accuser as he constantly attributes false claims and sayings in order to promote his heretical stance while rejecting the obvious truth that we lay out in a biblical manner!

Amen, the works follow automatically for those truly born of God. In fact it is not even work, it is rest, Things which seemed impossible to us before salvation become natural. And stop being work.

I know...blows my mind...well that is what happens when someone has been deceived by the devil and one whose mind has been blinded by heretical works/water to gain eternal life.......when the bible overwhelmingly teaches that it is faith that brings eternal life and not one good work can be done till AFTER one has been born again by the Holy Spirit of God.

No doubt and I agree......not that we don't fail occasionally, but that we can now serve God in newness of Mind and now have Jesus doing the work through us by the word of God and the Spirit that we have that has been born of God and sealed by God.

as he said so many times, yes, And like all of us, because e WANTED to obey our new Father!

a huge difference between want to serve an abba father, and HAVE to follow a demanding parent. One is out of love and appreciation, one is out of fear.

I was baptized in 2010 as a public profession of my faith in Christ before the congregation. It was to show others that my life is God's for Him to use in a way to Glorify Him. I was saved before I was baptized but my baptism did not add anything to my sanctification that could be credited to me.

I personally know many Christians who are not baptized and they have the exact same salvation as me and are justified before God in the same way. It's the blood of Christ that saves us not the water we got wet in.

When we stand before God at the end of our life He will see the blood of Christ covering us not the water we got wet in.
