It is the best circus in town.
Yeah, those who claim you can lose eternal life, and the seal of God is a prety good circus. They are all over the place. and can not even come to an agreement as to what causes salvation, which is of the spirit, to be lost.

SOmetimes it is so funny I have to laugh, if it was not for peoples eternal destinies at stake, it is not a laughing matter.

that only pertains to sola scripturists. They have been arguing over 500 years on an issue that was never an issue in the Church for 2000 years. And I imagine it will continue until Christ comes again and many still will not understand scripture, only their personal interpretations of a text.
Carry on. The circus is on your side of the issue however.

lol. You guys can;t even come together, you have the roman church and all their sacraments, and everyone else, and their few sacraments. up to those who just think you can walk away.

Sorry but legalism was in force all during the NT, and it was enforced with a law of the land in 300s when it became the state church.

Faith has always been a part of the gospel. from adam until today.

Stop listening to men, and listen to God. You can not do enough to have one sin forgiven, let alone all your numerous sins you commit and will commit.

A person who rejects Christ after coming to him would be against Christ. Also called an antichrist.

John answers this question.

1 John 2: [SUP]19 [/SUP]They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that [SUP][d][/SUP]it would be shown that they all are not of us.[SUP]20 [/SUP][SUP][e][/SUP]But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know.

saying one can walk away is just as dangerous as saying it can be lost.

It says God is going to save someone, give the his precious gift of eternal life, and seal of the spirit KNOWING they will at one time in the future turn around and give him the finger. Sorry I can not buy that. God knows all. from birth to death, before we are even born.
I see what you mean,i'm trying to harmonize those scriptures in Hebrews. what is your interpretation of these verses

Hebrews 6:1-6

king james version(kjv)

[SUP]1.)[/SUP] Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
[SUP]
2.)
[/SUP]
Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
[SUP]
3.)
[/SUP]
And this will we do, if God permit.
[SUP]
4.)
[/SUP]
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

[SUP]5.)[/SUP]
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
[SUP]
6.)
[/SUP]
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

what about verses Hebrews 4-6
lets get there, but we have to determine context first. or we will be running in circles. thats why I asked what the letter is about. because vs 4-6 is speaking to that context.

Huh????

You post "It says nothing of their eternal state"

What is the eternal state of those who have fallen from, out of God's grace?
It's not in the perfect tense so there's no indication that the fall from grace is permanent.
Many young Christians at one time or another get into the working for salvation mode, who do not have a good grasp on grace...it doesn't mean their fall is permanent.

Getting back to the OP, show me one scripture where a person who was born again became unborn, or where it is taught such.

You have been taken in on the Roman lie that they have perpetuated for 1000 years. Appealing to them does not help your cause.
How ironic, you want me to listen to you, and you are a man, considering all the false views you are espousing, clearly no one should listen to you.

No, I do not want you to listen to me. I am a nobody, and could care less if you believe in me or not.

I want you to listen to god.

Oh wait, thats right, The only inspired word he gave you reject as your source of truth. Oh well. Not much hope for you then.

this is the context ...he is speaking to us and that is what matters....
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

but you are hard of hearing....time to move up from foundation principles...but you have not gotten it right yet...you are stuck in a loop.....you were once enlightened but you have erred from the truth

the OP is far worst than Nicodemus....one is born again into the kingdom....one is free to leave the kingdom we are all adults here ...it is so ridiculous when people ask questions with the clear intent to cause contention...If a born again Christian can ask and or support that type of rubbish , A born again christian is free to become an atheist it he choose to depart from the faith...scripture teaches ...
1 Timothy 4:1
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
.
now someone will say ...they were never saved in the first place....they can explain to me ...if they were never saved...then what faith are they departing from????...we are saved by grace through faith.....and some of you believe you are saved the moment you first believe...

let's consider Peter for a sec:
Luke 22:31-32
Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat;
but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.
(suggested reading, John 17 :) )

if this whole thing we call the Christian life (death, resurrection)
is riding on us...
what we do, what we don't do, what we don't do 'good enough'...

if it's riding on us, and not the free grace of God in the Person of His Son...

we'll all be bunk mates in hell...

Spoken like a man who has never met someone who has been devoured by the diabolical one. Peter is speaking of testimony not eternal salvation.

I knew of a Christian who was in business and had a great reputation for honesty. He later was convicted of securities fraud and went to jail. His testimony and his family were greatly harmed by this indiscretion. He now has no testimony for Christ except he is the poster child for what not to do.

For the cause of Christ
Roger
What of Job......? Satan took all he had and even infected Job with boils and sores......primo example of one being raked over the coals by Satan and Job was still a saved child of God!

A grasp on grace? Who works for salvation....if you do not understand something...be mindful of you comments...some people call a cup of cocoa drink... tea..that does not make it tea....tea is made with tea leaves...it is the same way ..we are saved by grace through faith...faith without works is dead...some say I understand but works come after we are saved...so I ask ....the faith in red does it have works? They say oh that faith mmmm it does not need works it is saving faith....so I say is it alone? they say oh yes it is faith alone...so I say faith without works is dead being alone...they say that only applies to works for salvation people...we are saved by faith alone ,in Christ alone...fall is permanent until you repent...there is no middle ground....it is either you are in Christi or not....
