The book of remembrance is the same as the book of life.
Those who are faithful and obedient to the Lord are written in this book, and when it comes to judgment there obedience will be remember and given salvation.

So then your salvation is tied to what you can do as opposed to what Christ has done? He is the one who done the work, the heavy lifting and all we have to do is believe it and it brings everlasting life....IT IS A GIFT KENNETH and you can not WORK FOR A GIFT regardless what you and or Sea Perch thinks!

Kenneth here is where u miss the boat....NO ONE has said that we are not to be OBEDIENT to the word...the contention is, does OUR OBEDIENCE bring and to KEEP salvation...the answer is NO

FAITH into who Jesus is and what he has done BRINGS ETERNAL LIFE, SALVATION, JUSTIFICATION to the believer and is based upon the FAITH OF JESUS which is why it is eternal.

A saved child of GOD will walk according to the word of God and be faithful, sometimes they fail, sometimes they sin, sometimes the slip..doesn't change the fact of eternal life in JESUS!

You still don't understand the works that is talked about in this situation is works of the law.
Spiritual works that are works done out of love and obedience to the Lord is not works of the law. They are two different sets of works that is being talked about.

If you are trying to live by the mosaic law, and not live by love for the Lord which shows obedience, then no salvation is no longer by grace through faith. And your faith without works of love for the Lord is dead, has no foundation, and is set to failure.

Oh and for those who still want to cancel out obedience being a major part of a believers walk, here you go;
Not sure who this is directed to. You will not get a soul in this chatroom (that I know anyway) Who would disagree with you.

We are not talking about a believers walk however, we are talking about how one gets saved, recieves eternal life, Enters the kingdom of God.

Ken, No one here disagrees with those scriptures. We all know them. We all believe in them. We all strive in doing them.

But again, That is not the topic of this thread.

If you would like to start a thread on how a child of God should act. then lets do that. But lets first decide how one becomes a child of God.

Obedience is key to that though.
If you stay disobedient and not put your faith in the Lord, their is not salvation for you remain lost in sin.
Then if you stay disobedient and do not follow the command to repent of your sins then you still are not saved.
The list goes on when it comes to obedience, and if one says that it plays no role in salvation or being saved. Then they have been deceived, for one can not be disobedient to the Lord and be saved.

Oh Is that so?

So When I do a work of the law. Say honor my parents, Say like get baptized as a priest unto God. Say like Love my neighbor, and give to the poor, and (I think you get the point) out of love and obedience to the lord. these are not works of the law?

If people would think, they might see how they sound and not make such brazen comments.

So do we. A child of God CAN'T be disobedient the rest of their life. John says this, It says they CAN NOT SIN, because they have been born of God.

Why do you continue on the facade that we teach one a child of God could ever be disobedient for the rest of their life. That just foolishness.

It is a gift, but we have to accept that gift.
Like I said before for instance, a person is not saved tell they obey the command to repent of their sins.
Obedience comes before one is saved, not after.

QUOTE=seed_time_harvest;1788647]

this is a joke .....
when James says faith alone is dead he means faith alone is dead...where in his epistle does he mention saving faith??? or faith producing works??? you are saying something that is foreign to scripture...and saying that is what James means...that is a lie and I challenge you to prove it with scripture...
Even if I showed you ,you seem to not hear the words....why is that?

Does GOD need to see physical work or does he know your true intentions and if that is true and we know it is true then why does does GOD need to see physical work.

faith without work is dead if it is not true and how do you know if it is true.
GOD looks at the heart.
men look at the outward appearance.

So what I'm saying is that if the faith is true that men can judge the fruit/works but GOD knows already.

The list goes on when it comes to obedience, and if one says that it plays no role in salvation or being saved. Then they have been deceived, for one can not be disobedient to the Lord and be saved.
No. the one who is decieved is the one

1. Who thinks a child of God can remain in sin, and that God will not change them from the inside out.
2. Thinks they could ever be obedient enough to save themselves (God requires perfect obedience of the law. You have failed, are failing, and will fail to live up to that standard)

So do we. A child of God CAN'T be disobedient the rest of their life. John says this, It says they CAN NOT SIN, because they have been born of God.

Why do you continue on the facade that we teach one a child of God could ever be disobedient for the rest of their life. That just foolishness.

I said that because Dconn said obedience does not matter to bring us to, and to keep salvation.
That is false because like I showed before, you have to obey the command to repent before you are saved.

I did that because it shows how in the bible obedience is very important, for there is pretty much more scriptures throughout the bible about obedience then any other topic.
It is important. Stop mocking us and saying we do not believe this. It is offensive, a lie, and slandering people. Your in sin every time you do this. And you cannot even see it

It is a gift, but we have to accept that gift.
Like I said before for instance, a person is not saved tell they obey the command to repent of their sins.
Obedience comes before one is saved, not after.
Yep, you did say this, because you think repentnance is a work, when it is not.

Repentance is a change of heart. It is when one stops trying to be his own God, reject the god of the universe (which every one of us did before we were saved) and admit in humility we are sinners, rightly condemned. And Christ came to save us.

And to take it further, we can not just believe this, WE MUST HAVE FAITH IN THIS.

mere belief will not save you, FAITH SAVES. That is what JAMES proved in his second chapter.

Jesus made it clear. IT IS THE WORK OF GOD THAT WE BELIEVE IN THE ONE HE SENT.

so your going to take credit for the work of God and make it an act of obedience??

you go ahead and take credit, God took me to my knees, and showed me no way out, Or I would still not believe in him, and still be lost in my sin, GOD GAVE ME FAITH.
