Well the wedding trip is over and we did get a witness actually had three of them 2 Bell Hops and a Maid from the Hilton Hotel. Was very nice of them to take a break and witness Tourist and JesusLives getting married. But this thread is not about that kind of witness.

While in Sin City, Las Vegas Nevada not only did we get married but also did some handing out of what I like to call Christian Litchure in an effort to help spread the Gospel and share Jesus with those we come into contact with. So this thread is just for that. Please share your witnessing experiences here and how you go about sharing the Gospel with those you come into contact with.

Matthew 24:14

King James Bible
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

I handed out several little books called The Great Hope and each morning that I did this I prayed and asked God to help match me up with people to give the book out to.

On Wednesday the day before we got married we drove to Hoover Dam and did some sight seeing and on the way there I noticed a store that sold Native American Indian merchandise so mentioned to Tourist that I'd like to stop there on the way back to check out the store. We did stop and I met Maria who worked or owned the store. I was interested in an item to purchase but it was a tad costly so I put it back, however, I think she knew I really liked it and offered it to me at a 40% discount so I bought the item.

I said to her you have given me a gift I would like to give you a gift and handed her one of the books I had with me. She took one look at the cover of the book which has a beautiful picture of Jesus returning in the clouds with many angels and a rainbow and she almost started to cry saying I have seen these angels in a dream and they were dressed just like this. She asked if I had time to hear her dream and I said yes.

She related to me that she had gone through a very painful divorce a year before and was so discouraged and depressed and she went to bed and had a dream where in the dream she saw many angels and that she was searching for Jesus and trying to look around and over these tall angels to get a glimpse of Jesus but she could not see or find Him.

I had written in the cover of the book John 3:16 & 17 plus a sinners prayer for salvation and I opened the front cover and pointed out what I had written and told her this will help you find Jesus. We talked a little while longer and I said to her I will see you in heaven and she asked my name and I told her Darlene and she said I will look for you there.

As I was leaving the store she came outside and handed me a pen with the address of the store on it and said that it would be a way to contact her again and I intend to do just that.

It is amazing to me when we ask God to help us and go with us as we witness just how easy it is to witness for Him and how He will match us up with people who are looking for Him.... So please join me and share your stories here I know that you have some. I look forward to reading them.

So I went back to work.....3 weeks ago.....alot of my customers have said they are glad im back....
as the place was not the same....some really kind and flattering words.....I have this one customer
who is older than me....(if you can believe that)....her husband came in and was surprised to see me...
he said his wife was in the car and asked if I would go out and say hi........we were busy but I went out anyway...
and I am so glad I did......you see before I left I was talking to her about the love of God and how He effects
my life.....she reveled to me last year that her daughter who was close to my age had a drug addiction...
and was causing her so much sorrow.....how she stole and used her......
Well this daughter has fallen very ill and is not expected to survive.......so after telling of my miraculous recovery....
and witnessed to her right there in the parking lot....since her daughter started this lifestyle
she has lived in so much pain and
guilt.....I pray that she comes back and allows me to help her further....but I know when she left me.....
she seemed to be very interested and wanted to keep talking.......i have a gift bible that I have when this
happens....I didnt have it with me at work.....I will put it in the work bag....and save it for her.....
I really dont like to talk about this kind of thing.....it feels like I am being boastful.....as all of this
is just me being obediant to God.....nothing I am doing is of me.....im not that good....
God lead me to this woman and I am honored He trusts me to help her......

I am a secret witness. You have probably seen just a very few of my scripture art. Well, I print them out in color (about 2" by 3" or smaller) and leave them in public restrooms, in dressing rooms, on shelves of stores. I always pray that the right person will pick it up.

There is no church or denomination advertising themselves on the back of the artwork. Just scripture that I hope will minister to them - and whet their hearts for more - or bring them comfort.

I have even given this artwork to friends who have left them all around the world as they visit different places. They scatter them here and there. On cruise ships and handed them out to people on the streets. Some of my art is in Africa, India, China etc. Now I don't worry that English might not be understood. I trust that if the art interests them, they will find someone who can translate for them (therefore, two people are given the Word).

I like the secret aspect of it - and that they would feel that nothing is advertised - and that someone would go to the trouble of printing out watercolor pictures just for them.

This is just a fun thing to do. So if you go into a bathroom, and see some scripture art in watercolor, now you will know.

I am kind of clumsy and dont really know how to witness, but I usually just state something like "God is real just as you and I are sitting here I've experienced this and know without doubt"
So far I've witnessed mainly to my family members when Jesus had me to but they mocked me, or did not take my warning seriously at all.

A common conversation starter for me is horoscope and superstitions. Like, somebody asks me what is my horoscope sign or ask me if I do coffee reading... I say "I dont believe in that", and continue sharing my faith. God also uses my music to testify, also as a conversation starter, I tell people I make music for Jesus and confess my faith there. I know some people who dont believe God but they like the Psalms from the Bible I set to music and because they like the music, they play it in their house. And I trust His word when sent out will not come back empty...

I testified to many people online, and some people at work. I am only talking if I feel that another person will be receptive, otherwise I try to testify by showing Jesus in my behavior. Can be a struggle at times though because demons put up a hard fight, I always end up being abused at work because people gang up against me, in various mean devices and especially with vulgar jokes, seeing that I'm not in that mode and that I dislike profanity. Also demons stir some up to just simply hate me. It can get me irritated I admit, but I am not angry with them because they dont even understand why they are doing it and what is the influence there...

SoulWeaver, I SO get where you're coming from. My family don't take my witnessing to them seriously either and my faith is a bit of a joke to them - a lot of a joke to some of them! I prefer to evangelise online in a way people don't even realise you are doing it. I believe God opens opportunities at work for me to witness and it is only ever going to work if God has done that - we cannot do it on out own strength. Even JesusLives said she prayed first! The Holy Spirit awakens a knowledge in us of when to speak and most importantly when not to speak. We must learn to listen to Him.

Yeah, but He will press pretty hard when He wants gospel shared so I dont worry about that, lol! I live half a state away from my parents but when God laid on my heart to testify I had to get up and travel right then! Also if I am to talk to somebody, I usually pray the dumb spirit is removed from their ears so they can hear. :)

Thanks for your story - I started this thread as a source of encouragement to others and a possible way to encourage others to get out there and witness to people. We need more workers in the field and these stories are encouraging to me. I don't think the Lord thinks we are being boastful when trying to get and encourage one another to get out and work with and for Him.

That is why I started the thread plus I was so excited about Maria's dream story as she said to me the angels in her dream looked just like the ones on the book cover and there was a rainbow too just like on the book. Now that was set up by God I had nothing to do with that I just gave her a book that God prompted me to give her.

This stuff is exciting and it makes me want to do it more and hopefully these stories will encourage others to step outside their box of comfort and get to working with God too. It is the most fun ever and I love that God does all the heavy lifting and goes before us preparing people to be receptive....

These are exciting times and people need to know God.....I just want to be a cheer leader and help people get started. That is not boasting in my book and don't think it is in God's either.....He said to pray for more workers I am just trying to encourage more workers....Praying this will help do that.

It is said that God's word never returns void so if you put the word out there it will do good. Now we may not always see the results of our witness and no matter how clumsy we are or if we feel as though we have messed up God can take what we do and make it good.

I have been a secret witness in that I will leave literature in different places praying someone will pick it up and a few times I have even stuck a little literature in a pack of beer...wondering what a surprise the purchaser had when getting a drink. But felt moved to do it a couple of times.

We are seed planters and Bible says there are sowers, people that water and the angels harvest in the end it is God's Holy Spirit that convicts and causes the increase so we work together with God and that is a very good thing. Please never get discouraged in witnessing even if you are mocked and made fun of as in the end of time these moments will be brought to peoples memories that they had a chance and either accepted the chance to accept Jesus or threw their chance away. We are just offering them a way to learn about God it is what Jesus asked us to do. Thanks for your witness and efforts.

my favorite witnessing times have been 'accidental'.

often it's happened because after shopping, i get to the car and realize there's
something i haven't paid for.
so i wander back in to the register, explain, and ask to have the item(s) rung up.

typically, i receive a blank stare or a look of shock, and almost always am asked,
why didn't you just go home? (yeah...i think most folks feel like that about me...hehe)

it's a nice opportunity to talk about my Lord Jesus.
and a good reminder for me that actions speak louder than words. :)

All I can say is continue to pray for our family and friends. I can't tell you how many times I say to them all I am asking you to do is get in the boat with me... Kind of like Noah's ark....they know what I am talking about and I do believe when we pray for our family and friends that God is giving them every opportunity to accept Him and when the time is right they will accept God. If they don't then they will know we tried with all our hearts to help them find the way to Jesus. But I believe they will be saved in the right timing which is God's timing....I have only understood salvation myself for three years. Of course now I an trying to redeem the time I feel I have lost, but with God's help this is a fun process for me. Yes, I have felt clumsy and unworthy, but we may always feel that way. I know that with God nothing is impossible so I keep being clumsy and praying to be lead to where He wants me to go...

Listening to God and His promptings yielded a husband after 35 years. So I try and listen up now and not just because I think there would be a reward in it, but to know God would use me to help even a little bit is just fun and exciting and I love that He would use me and all my faults to help it is what I want to do as long as I can and knowing God is in control is a major faith builder as He is faithful and I know He will do for us what we can't do for ourselves. I am learning to love God more and more each day and it is a real rush.

Please never get discouraged in witnessing even if you are mocked
I wouldnt dare to Sis. If Jesus could die for me and expose Himself to shame and torture, speaking up for Him is the least I must do. God will hold us accountable for that person's life if we dont speak up when He lays it on our hearts. It's a serious matter. I'll share in case anybody reading has been convicted to testify but delaying it...

Ezekiel 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. (and other verses)

That's what He gave me in the beginning to push me out of my shell. Without His support I'm a dentist-avoiding coward (gotta admit the truth), but also it gets easier with time. I really liked Joidevivre's idea of drawings and also your ideas of leaving Scriptures around. I might try that also, because I did notice, people dont want to hear about it, but oddly enough they will read.

I know what you are talking about there was a summer at a Target store that I'm telling you it is only by the grace of God I didn't get arrested for shoplifting because it seems like ever other time I was there I found something in the cart I had not paid for and it got so bad that I started checking the cart really good before leaving the store.

I would not go in directly every time this happened but the next time I would go in the store I would pick up the same item and have them ring it up and explain that I had inadvertently not paid for it but too tired to come back in and wanted to pay for it the next go around....like you amazement for the honesty and payment. We have to live with ourselves though and God knew we would do the right thing.

Aww JL...I could have came downtown and witnessed you witnessing?
I do not have those type of chops...and I really wish I did. In my daily life I find most are too busy to stop (put the phones they are staring at down) and chat about God. When I try to squeeze it in conversation I fail miserably. On Sundays while watching the Broncos, someone might say "Hey, that was a great catch!" I will respond with, "Do you know who doesn't catch footballs, but is awesome--Jesus!" See? I'm thinking my timing is a little off? No need to tell you they just stare at me. Sometimes like Psyc-Mom, I do it by accident. Which is great. Maybe some tips?

I try to cultivate people before I witness. Since I live in a very small town (1 traffic light and it blinks) I see the same peole overr and over-when they look a little down-I tread the waters and pray. I always approach with God's love and the hope He offers.

Kinda an ambush but I'd rather kill'em with love. The "Hey, you are going to burn in a lake of fire forever, you miserable sinner!!" isn't going to encourage the cashier at Mobil whose eyes are red from crying.

Keep that honeymoon ongoing:)

I think this is why we need an evangelism forum. To share God's work, to encourage one another to fulfill the Great Commission!

We need to do this every day! I am quite inspired by these testimonies!

Too bad we didn't know you were Las Vegas we could have met you.....as far as witnessing tips. PRAY....I asked God to match me up with people to give the little books I had brought with me and not one of the people turned me down. That is the success. Give it to God and then watch Him work and listen to the prompts.

I gave a book to the lady at the marriage license bureau she took it with grace, I gave one to the lady who help me buy some hair supplies to do my hair myself for the wedding she took it, the maid who quickly cleaned the hotel room we got married in thanked me for the book and the tip for the quick clean up, the lady who fixed two red roses for the wedding one on Jerry's jacket and my one red rose baby's breath bouquet took a book, a man asking for money took the book and thanked me for it with a few dollars given to him. When you ask God to help you He goes before you and sets things up.

I was a good sneak attack person leaving little pamphlets in bathrooms, and here and there praying someone would pick them up that needed to find God. Jerry told me he picked up a pamphlet off the street about salvation and gave his heart to God as a result of reading that tract. So I'd like to think I could help someone like my husband find Jesus. I guess we won't know the result of our witnessing until we get to heaven....but I always thought of myself as a coward witness. I only got semi bold this time because I know God is in charge of the results I am just sharing information with people and it is the same for each one of us. It is not up to us to get the results God just asked us to share it is up to the Holy Spirit to get the results and talk to peoples hearts. We just share that is all. I find the more I do it the easier it gets and yes I still send things out randomly.

One of my latest things I do is save my ebay purchase addresses write the item I bought and at Christmas time send the seller a Christmas card with a pamphlet in it about the second coming of Jesus or salvation. I am just sharing with as many as I can. I want Jesus to come so I am just trying to get the word out to help people make their choice as it is their choice to make and when everyone has had an opportunity then the end will come. So just keep sharing the gospel it will take us out of this world eventually. Ask God to make you bold and then see what happens....It's really fun to watch Him work....using a Blond like me...or a Reborn like you.

The Lord knows I'm kinda ditzy (some of my friends call me Lucy - LOL) and I'm sure to foul things up by trying too hard. But Jesus has taught me to walk & talk with Him every day, all the time, no matter where we go. I honestly pay more attention to God's Voice than anything else which is marvelous because otherwise I'd get lost like a sheep very quickly. He knows me very well.

And the Lord Jesus makes opportunity to witness no matter where I go and I'm only made aware of it when I hear the Holy Spirit tell me what to speak. I used to try to find opportunity and try to get people saved. And I did a miserable job of it and wore myself out & got discouraged. Now it's just following the Lord's steps and saying what He wants me to say.

I meet and talk with young and old, all walks of life and share the Lord Jesus. But it seems that most of the people the Lord has led me to speak to are young people from troubled family lives. Rather, the Lord keeps bringing them to me. I am so blessed that Jesus has given me a motherly heart for children and young people. :)

Awesome. Thank you JL. Sounds like I need courage?
Couple of questions: So did you guys propel down the side of casinos (or from helicopters) in camo makeup, and whip pamphlets at tourists, then disappear into the shadows?! Or instead of placing bets with chips, you'd drop a JL note then run?

Hmmmm sounds more like a job for Blue LadyBug?

That is really cool. You guys are awesome.....and even on your wedding weekend? Wow.;)
