New Questions, again...because wow this forum is dead today.

1. What one word would you use to sum up your life?
Tragic Hero.

2. If you were a tree, what kind would you be (sorry! I'm struggling to think of questions!)?
A teak. They hew you down, then they saw you off into boards and then they put you on the floor and walk over you.

3. What's a goal/dream you used to have, but gave up on or set aside? Why?
I wanted to be a pilot. But later I developed the fear of heights (I still do!). So I decided I would give up on that dream for the safety of my passengers. :p

4. If you could live a day in the life of someone else, who would you choose (and no, this isn't about not liking your own life, it's about who you find interesting)?
Any CC member who lives in a cold place. (I can only think of Arwen). I have never seen snow in my entire life, so I would like to see it. Plus, I want to know how it feels to cuddle up in a duvet and sleep on a cold, winter morning.

5. What's the scariest thing you've experienced in recent memory?
Recent memory? The Conjuring. Have you watched the scene where the 'thing' jumps onto the bed and scares the woman?

1. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, to a biblical time, where and when would you go?

2. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, but NOT to a biblical time, yet still before your birth, where and when would you go?

3. If you had a time machine and set it to the past DURING your lifetime, where and when would you go? Remember – you can’t visit your past self. We wouldn’t want to blow up the universe.

4. If you set the time machine to the future, how far ahead would you go?

5. What is your favorite soup? I ask this because I know that straying from the “time machine” theme will annoy some people, and that’s how I roll.

2. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, but NOT to a biblical time, yet still before your birth, where and when would you go?

1. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, to a biblical time, where and when would you go?

I would probably just go to the Arc moment, and check to see if they really put the dinosaurs on board.

2. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, but NOT to a biblical time, yet still before your birth, where and when would you go?

DANGIT. lol.
I was going to answer this with something along the lines of getting branded with one of those metal things they brand cattle with and getting a tattoo on my bicep called 'I <3 mom" or something like that.

3. If you had a time machine and set it to the past DURING your lifetime, where and when would you go? Remember – you can’t visit your past self. We wouldn’t want to blow up the universe.
LOL..
Uh. The moment I got this coffee, oh snap. haha.

4. If you set the time machine to the future, how far ahead would you go?
The moment before I die, and then say something really odd, then I would die. Come back to life, and say "just kidding" and then die again...and then my ghost would linger around after that and tell them that they should stop taking everything so seriously.

5. What is your favorite soup? I ask this because I know that straying from the “time machine” theme will annoy some people, and that’s
how I roll.

Alright, I respect it.
Uh, I like New England Clam Chowder.
Or creamed spinach by itself. It doesn't have to be soup because, creamed spinach is a necessity for...uh. wait nvm.

1. I think I'd like to go see the dedication of Solomon's temple and ancient Israel during it's "golden age".

2. Gee, most of the stuff I know about in history is the kind of stuff you really don't want to go experience. I think maybe I'd like to attend George Washington's farewell address. I have tremendous respect for him as a man who twice had the opportunity to hold all the political power in the nation, but instead stepped down and forced the people to democratically choose someone else. It would also be nice to experience the atmosphere or a nation that truly loves and admires its leader.

3. I think it would be cool if my adult self could go back in time and get to know some of my extended family before they got old and have now passed on. I've enjoyed the relationships I've been able to build with my aunts and uncles as an adult and if I could go back to when they were at about my time in life (especially my aunts who were both single until they were over 40) and speak to them more as equals than older people that would be cool.

4. 50 years and buy a record of sporting even outcomes and never have to worry about money again (oh wait I think someone did that in a movie (it's not gambling if you already know the answer is it ?)). Then again I could just go to next week and find out the winning lottery numbers, that would be easier (can I defer using this power until the jackpots are insanely huge again?).

5. I like new england clam chowder a lot, but right now I'm experimenting with pumpkin soup and seeing if I can make some super delicious ones. Oh and there was this corn chowder stuff they used to have at Old country buffet that I remember being insanely good too.

Edit: While several family members have passed away I do still have some wonderful family around. I just changed train of thought in the middle of writing because being dead is not a requirement for me to want to get to know them better.

1. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, to a biblical time, where and when would you go?

To the time when Noah built the ark. I would like to travel with him inside the ark too.

2. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, but NOT to a biblical time, yet still before your birth, where and when would you go?

To the Indian freedom struggle. I have heard from my grandpa that those were difficult days. So I would like to experience it myself.

3. If you had a time machine and set it to the past DURING your lifetime, where and when would you go? Remember – you can’t visit your past self. We wouldn’t want to blow up the universe.

To visit myself when I was a baby. That would be 26 years ago.

4. If you set the time machine to the future, how far ahead would you go?

To the Rapture. Not sure if the time machine would know the date/time but I would like to give it a try. :p
(Ok, I know that only the Father knows about the Rapture but this is a light-hearted thread...)

5. What is your favorite soup? I ask this because I know that straying from the “time machine” theme will annoy some people, and that’s how I roll.

Nothing in particular. I like Tom Yum soup and Manchow soup.

New Questions!!!

1. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, to a biblical time, where and when would you go?

I always wanted to see the scene between David and Goliath, just to see David's faith in action.

2. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, but NOT to a biblical time, yet still before your birth, where and when would you go?

Italy during the Renaissance

3. If you had a time machine and set it to the past DURING your lifetime, where and when would you go? Remember – you can’t visit your past self. We wouldn’t want to blow up the universe.

Go back to the late 1970's to see my grandpa preach.

4. If you set the time machine to the future, how far ahead would you go?

To the day Cleveland wins the Super Bowl, so I am guessing a million years from now.

5. What is your favorite soup? I ask this because I know that straying from the “time machine” theme will annoy some people, and that’s how I roll.

1. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, to a biblical time, where and when would you go?

I'd love to go to the Garden of Eden before the Fall. THAT would probably blow up the universe, but it would be neat to see what a perfect world actually looked like.

2. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, but NOT to a biblical time, yet still before your birth, where and when would you go?

Renaissance England or Scotland to experience castle life and culture.

3. If you had a time machine and set it to the past DURING your lifetime, where and when would you go? Remember – you can’t visit your past self. We wouldn’t want to blow up the universe.

Perhaps the Berlin Wall coming down?

4. If you set the time machine to the future, how far ahead would you go?

This is a dangerous one! Not too soon - I don't want to know how my family ends up. Maybe a couple hundred years, just to see how different the world looks.

5. What is your favorite soup? I ask this because I know that straying from the “time machine” theme will annoy some people, and that’s how I roll.

Zuppa Toscana from Olive Garden. Mmmmmm!

1. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, to a biblical time, where and when would you go?
I'd probably go to the Creation...just to see God speaking things into existence...mind-blowing.

2. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, but NOT to a biblical time, yet still before your birth, where and when would you go?
I can't decide between Jane Austen times, or shortly before the Civil War so's I could wear frilly dresses and hoop skirts and see what life was like then. Or maybe neither, and maybe I'd just go back to medeival times and shoot arrows at stuff and...wait, no...chamber pots...you know what? Maybe I don't want to go back to any of those times. Oh! I know! I could go back to the 20's! Yeah! No...
This question is hard, now that I've over-thought it all.

3. If you had a time machine and set it to the past DURING your lifetime, where and when would you go? Remember – you can’t visit your past self. We wouldn’t want to blow up the universe.
I would go back to my teen years, except I'd go to all the concerts my friends got to go to that I didn't, and that way I wouldn't run into myself and disrupt the time/space continuum and all that.

4. If you set the time machine to the future, how far ahead would you go?
387 years, 5 months, 9 days.

5. What is your favorite soup? I ask this because I know that straying from the “time machine” theme will annoy some people, and that’s how I roll.

A soup question thrown in with time machine questions makes perfect sense to me...all that time travelling is bound to make a person hungry.
...homemade potato soup.

1. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, to a biblical time, where and when would you go?

I'd go to a time just before Jesus started His ministry, talk to Him, maybe get a piece of carpentry work from Him. I know He would know where I was from, it would just be amazing to meet Him.

2. If you had a time machine and set it to the past, but NOT to a biblical time, yet still before your birth, where and when would you go?

I would go back to around when my mother and father met, since they were both in college age, and hang out with them. I would especially want to meet my father's father, since he died in a plane crash when I was a baby.

3. If you had a time machine and set it to the past DURING your lifetime, where and when would you go? Remember – you can’t visit your past self. We wouldn’t want to blow up the universe.

I'd sneak into my dad's work when I was about 5, and tell him to have patience with me. That I was going to go through a lot of things: mental illness, school troubles, but to not give up on me. That his support has carried me through a lot. That he was doing a good job.

4. If you set the time machine to the future, how far ahead would you go?

When I'm 55. I wanna see my babies and grand babies.

5. What is your favorite soup? I ask this because I know that straying from the “time machine” theme will annoy some people, and that’s how I roll.

1. What's your favorite kind of cake?
My favourite cake is chocolate truffle.

2. We all know bacon is wonderful, but what's your favorite way to eat it? Alone? In something else? On a sandwich?
Bacon is wonderful to eat alone and in something else. It is good in Carbonara, on some varieties of pizza and as a breakfast with toast, scrambled eggs and juice.

3. What's the best birthday you've ever had?
This is easy to answer since I have rarely celebrated my birthday. The best birthday was this year when I did a small road-trip with my ex and two of her friends and later stayed at a really good hotel. The hotel sent us a complimentary cake at mid-night to celebrate my birthday.

4. Favorite gift you gave or received for Christmas this year?
None. I neither give nor receive any gifts for Christmas, and this year was no different.

5. What's your preferred bug-killing method?
Depends on the bug. If it is a mosquito, I would smack it with my hand. If it is a cockroach, I would spray some insecticide on it. If it is a centipede, I would squish it under my shoe.

Preferred bug-killing method: for BIG spiders, I RAID them to death, for smaller spiders I squish em with a tissue..then give em a burial at sea.. :) Had a HUGE black millipede in my house one time..caught it in a cup and flushed it down the toilet..otherwise I just put down ant and pest traps.

1. What's your favorite kind of cake?
cheesecake

2. We all know bacon is wonderful, but what's your favorite way to eat it? Alone? In something else? On a sandwich?
I recently had bacon wrapped around dates. Apparently this was popular in the '70's. I was a kid, so I missed all that. Anyway, it was quite the experience. It's like meat candy.

3. What's the best birthday you've ever had?
I have two friends whose birthdays are only a few days from mine. We used to all go out to dinner together to celebrate.

4. Favorite gift you gave or received for Christmas this year?
I gave myself Arkham Asylum for the XBox. and socks. I like the game better.

5. What's your preferred bug-killing method?
I honestly don't get all the fuss over spiders. I freak out when I see a spider inside because that means that the bugs that they eat are also inside. I would rather have a spider minding its own business in a quiet corner of the room than a mosquito flying about waiting to suck away all of my life juices. I'll put the spider in a cup and take it outside and place it on a bush or something.

1. What's your favorite kind of cake?

right now, it's key lime pie.

2. We all know bacon is wonderful, but what's your favorite way to eat it? Alone? In something else? On a sandwich?

In a breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg, cheese), quiche, or carbonara pasta. I did have some really good candied maple bacon once at a baby shower, but tend to have more of a savory tooth.

3. What's the best birthday you've ever had?

21st birthday in Italy, I was on a study abroad at the time in France, and some classmates and I decided to book it to Italy for a weekend and helped celebrate.

4. Favorite gift you gave or received for Christmas this year?

Gave - my kid brother tickets to the science center in Orlando...he's generally difficult to excite but we had so much fun together.
Received - a folding rolling shopping cart which has proven to be SO useful for bringing in groceries to my apartment from wherever i happen to be parked. no more breaking my arms or making multiple trips.

5. What's your preferred bug-killing method?

boric acid powder

1. What's your favorite kind of cake?
Chocolate. The more chocolate the better.

2. We all know bacon is wonderful, but what's your favorite way to eat it? Alone? In something else? On a sandwich?
On a cheeseburger.
Also, my mom puts bacon in green beans, and that makes the green beans edible, and since they're vegetables, I can pretend I'm being healthy by eating bacon.

3. What's the best birthday you've ever had?
My 16th- my best friend and my mom planned a surprise pool party for me.
Though I can't say I've had any bad birthdays, really, even if all I did was buy myself coffee or pick flowers for myself. Actually, scratch that- my 18th wasn't good. I got a steam cleaner and got my belly button pierced. Ugh.

4. Favorite gift you gave or received for Christmas this year?
Pretty pleased with all my new painting stuff. Oh! And I got this solar light that hangs outside (it's hanging in my kitchen window currently though) that's all shiny and swirly and stuff. It's neat.

5. What's your preferred bug-killing method?
Spiders- squash 'em (unless they're on the ceiling or in the tub...I leave them be if that's where they're hanging out).
Bees and other flying, stinging things- spray 'em with any kind of house hold cleaning product so's they stop the flying and can't do the stinging.
Beetle-y bugs- smoosh 'em in tissue or toilet paper and flush 'em.
June bugs- spray their bellies with starting fluid.
