A lot of people seem ignorant and forget that the Arab nations were also offered a new Arab State called Palestine. The deal originally stood that it was either both or none. The Arabs and Muslims hated Jews so much they decided to reject the deal. However the Jews were given the nation anyway.
A large group did not just pop up out of nowhere either, they were already there. Initiailly the Jews were given just a few patches of barren desert land, it wasnt until the Arab nations attacked Israel that other territory was capture and absorbed into Israel.
If Arab nations had not attacked Israel, then Israel would still be more or less in its Original 1948 borders according to the Partition Plan. If Israel had not been attacked in 1948, then none of the 700 000 Palestinians would have been forced from their homes as refugees and thier property taken.
War always has casualties and it is always the civilian population which suffers, especailly when another force captures land, the population flees and the homes are taken over but the occupiers, its almost a standard event in conquest.
Many nations in the world owns territory that was capture from neighbouring countries, Islam is the worst culprit in more recent times. People bleat on about Israel stealing land yet ignore what is happening in other countries.
Where is the outcry and demonstrations against what is now North Sudan? the Islamic government ethnically cleansed the North over many years, it was reported in media as anything but an Islamic ethnic cleansing. thousands of villiages and small towns were cleared out, the inhabitants, majority being Christian made their war to Darfur refugee camp, but they were still murdered and raped by Islamic Militia. Eventually they agreed to split , the Muslims had North Sudan and the non-Muslims could now live in South Sudan, which is basically a poor barren region of the country.
