what does that even mean? i treat myself with respect..

It means that staying in the anger is harmful to your soul. Putting language on painful feelings helps you to be at peace with yourself and the world. Isn't that what Jesus wants fur you? A peace that "surpasses all understanding"?

Sirk's doing an outstanding job of getting to the cause of these emotions. I'd ask how something directed at a famous person I'm assuming -- with considerable self-assurance -- you don't know would make you feel such deep-abiding emotions. I mean, you could have used lighter terminology: Pique. Surprise. Aversion. But you went pretty deep with such strong emotions. As Sirk said, you should try to figure out why.

Reasonable. But have you noticed you're the only one reacting so strongly?

I don't expect Michael Moore to show up on CC, or at my office, for that matter. (If he did, I'd tell him in my best professional manner and terminology that he's nuts.) As I said, people in the public forum, such as actors and politicians, who show no respect for others will be talked about by me in terminology they wouldn't like, and obviously, neither do you. By their own disrespect, they forfeit any privilege of respect from people they neither know, see, hear, nor care about.

If, on the extreme outside chance I ever were to meet MM, I'd be polite, but I would make it clear his views are unwelcome by me and by the majority of the American people. I had a sociology professor like him in my doctoral program just last semester. He tried to push his views off on us whom he is advising as to the sociological aspects of our dissertations. I told him to his face he was wrong, gave him facts to back up that statement, and asked him if he wanted to debate the issue before the department. Interestingly enough, he did not.

Just because people have good intentions doesn't mean we shouldn't call them out.

I'm sure you occasionally get into political discussions with liberals. For now on, you should start asking them why they support liberal policies.

I keep hearing "family and faith" pop up in here. I'm almost afraid to ask for you to elaborate on this, but I guess I'll inquire. What do you mean by family and faith and what do you feel is the government's role concerning these things?

why are you afraid? and in the context of this discussion and as it relates to liberal thought and ideas, they see these things as negative and a hindrance to their agenda to make the state to source the focal point of a society. The government under our constitution recognizes the rights of the people to answer to God and worship God according to ones own conscience. The traditional Protestant view has formed this nation, and made it strong.

Well since we are sitting here this morning I just got done watching a news report on who possibly would be running for presidency this next election, and they talked to a couple of the republican candidates on how they are pushing even right now in the states they live in to raise taxes on the middle class. I can not go and just post every time I have done this for you to see, on how some have defended republicans while bashing democrats and liberals as it would take up way to much room. Which is against the policies of this site. All I can do is tell you to keep watching as I will always speak up when this happens.......

I didn't call MM that to his face. Neither did Sirk. He'll never know of the comments. But the whole world knows he implied Chris Kyle is a coward. How did that sit with you, emotionally, when you heard of it?

I find it interesting that BLB went after my character in her anger towards me. I suppose that it is common for that generation to attack the core of someone to try to make their discomfort less uncomfortable. For instance....if an action of someone makes me angry and I react out of my anger about their action, I am basically saying they are a bad person because I am uncomfortable because of them. It is sending the message to them that they are responsible for MY feelings.

For instance....if an action of someone makes me angry and I react out of my anger about their action, I am basically saying they are a bad person because I am uncomfortable because of them. It is sending the message to them that they are responsible for MY feelings.

Which is what the last generation and a half have been taught by our "wonderful public education system."
