Ok, everyone i know who uses it are kinda dumb and stupid and hang on the couch alot... not that i'm judging ;-P Perhaps its just a coincidence that everyone i know who does it lack get up and go. I used to think pot is ok for medicinal uses like cancer but then my uncle told me the Lord revealled to him the demon attached to marijuana & I'd say I'd avoid it. For me, I tried it as a teen and it just made me paranoid. We are to respect the law too and also keep in mind that we are representitives of the Lord... the things we do, whether it is drinking to excess, swearing, smoking pot... people see this and i think it blocks them from seeing the light of the Lord shine from within.

No, I haven't, but I have a sister who is a pothead and I work at a prison. I also have alot of professional education on the subject. Also, I am over 50. I was almost there when they invented it, lol. Your question reveals your own prejudices. To say that only those who have smoked pot have the right to decide if it is good or bad is to say that only those who have tried meth can determine if it is bad or good. May I ask you this: did your parents approve of you smoking pot?
I think that you are infering way past the lines by saying that I am saying only someone who has tried it knows it is good or bad. Sure you can ask me whatever you like, but what does it matter? And my parents hadn't a clue that I ever smoked pot.

Medicinal use can be very beneficial, don't just rule it out. My mom's friend was dieing of AIDS and had no appetite, and pot was literally the only thing that would give her an appetite.

Because you hid it from them?

Sounds like average parents to me, I got caught with mushrooms once..... Getting caught really sucks.
I never got caught with anything illiegal, I was lucky. There were lots of time when I should of, but I got real lucky. I just got caught for other stupid things. But we should really stay on topic here, lol.

Yeah, cause they would have slit my throat.
I understand. There is a parable about a man who was hiring someone to drive his children to school. He took all three out to a road with a steep dropoff and asked the three candidates whether they could navigate the road safely. The first said that he could even ride along the edge of the dropoff and maintain control. The second, trying to outdo the first, said that he could hang the edge of the tire over the dropoff and still maintain control. The final one said that he might not get the job because he was going to stay as far away from the edge as possible. Of course, the third got the job. Parents are like that, so I hope that you will understand why your parents opposed it and I hope that you will navigate the dropoffs of life safely. God Bless.

I was a little surprised after seeing all the "I don't see anything wrong with it", posts.

Ephesians 5:18
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit

Same concept?
AMEN!!! reading more of the posts here I'm seeing where there is a lack of acknowledgement that this is an addictive mind altering substance. I've done it & I know so dont try to tell me that its not. & yes the teens I know who are doing it & adults I know who are now chronic users are people who had alot of garbage to escape from & rather than work their way out of their problems they smoke & lose themselves in their video games... tv...music... this way they dont have to actually look at their problems and deal with them, they can just avoid them & giggle & maybe have a snack or 8. Also note I've seen a pattern with my friends from school in the 80's they were occasional users, in the 90's they became chronic and now many of them have lost most everything to their addictions of other substance. There but by the grace of God go I. Also, note that alot of the stuff you get out there isn't always just pot. For your own safety I would not recommend smoking this stuff. Plus you want to be a successful human being and that stuff will eat your brain & your spare cash.

Okay fine :), but I will say that I admire your non-whinyness, often I find that people who were once addicted, either make claims that "You will get addicted regardless" and are against drugs at an obnoxious level, or make claims that addiction is a disease.

you've yet to do either, so kudos.

Look, I am not promoting pot in any which way. I had enough pot to last me a life time, I am straightedge now. I simply wanted other's opinion's. I am just trying my best to show both sides of the argument. God Bless you too.

So she lived then? awesome. I hope she comes to know the Lord before she goes if she doesnt already. Personally I wouldnt take the chance with the demon my uncle described because he will bring you DOWN!!!

Me personally just as with alcohol I am completely against it, not judging anyone who used it for appetite/ healing or whatever but here is what I believe, I believe to rely on Jesus for he is my healer! Again not condemning as it's not my job just giving my personal thought on it. God bless

the problem with smoking for appetite problems is that doing so is simply replacing one addiction with another.

No she died a few years ago :( the reason they put her on marijuana was because they knew she didn't have long left and they wanted to keep her as active as possible.

the fact is smoking it is illegal,

smoking is bad for the lungs - I ought to know about dammaged lungs

I am glad you went to snorting it instead - I don't mind snorting it occasionally

it is safe and not illegal
It doesn't have to be smoked. There are recipe books out there.

Funny how people conceive ideas about what other people do....like you are in the presence or see someone swearing/blaspheming or acting in a normal unbelievers way, what normally happens?...NOTHING, people either ignore the person/s or walk away, now the thing with someone who smokes a bit of pot, he/she is automatically slotted into society's box of criminal low life and branded a drug addict..hypocrites!..all of us!
