Does everyone realize here that the Old Covenant has the same aspect as the new?

The Old was based on faith, It required the working of the Holy Spirit, It was on the basis of Grace, the Old covenant could be summed up in one word, love. The Old Covenant could be kept if done so by faith in Gods Grace transforming Gods love in us.

The new covenant is better because Jesus gives a clearer revelation than the Old Covenant does.

They had priest so do we- Jesus
They had a temple so do we- heavenly
They had sacrifices- so do we Jesus
They had 10 commandments that points out sin by that which is good so do we- Jesus who was a walking example of the 10 commandments.

You can't be like Him and not keep the 10 commandments
You can't have his love and not keep the 10 commandments.
you can't be born again and not keep the 10 commandments.

Israel failed because they did not have faith, not because they could not succeed but because they tried to work their way.

That and the Old Covenant was based on Jesus, the Old was never designed to be the end but rather pointed to Jesus who was the end.

All the law is fulfilled in one word...love Not legalism. "rest" in Gods love and you have entered into His true Sabbath :)

You keep referring to the Mosaic laws, I am not referring to them at all. I am referring to God's law and God's Sabbath. They are His, not mine, or yours, or the Jews. Your mixing things up that shouldn't be mixed up. The fourth commandment says nothing about gathering food or not.

The instance you are referring too, regarding the gathering of food, was for a specific time under specific circumstances. God provided Israel's food for forty years while they wandered in the wilderness. They gathered this manna every morning, but on Friday God Himself provided a double portion to be gathered before the Sabbath began according to His own instruction. This because He did not supply the manna on Sabbath because He wanted the day to be different from the rest. That the preparation of the food might be done on Friday rather than the Sabbath which was for rest. This was a specific command relating to specific circumstances which ended when Israel entered the promised land. You would be better off just doing as you wish on the Sabbath, than you will be if you continue to try and make God's word say what you wish. this is a dangerous practice.

But you are because you are holding to the standards of the Sabbath based under the Mosaic laws, and not on the standards on how the Lord and the new testament scriptures state how the standard of the Sabbath is now observed.

Yes the Old Covenant was fulfilled in one word, love.

Yep so if we keep the commandment of Christ to love we are fulfilling every commandment of God... simple :) We are not under legalism we are under love .

Rom 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

what law is fulfilled by love Paul?

Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Oh you mean the Old Covenant law is fulfilled in one word even love thank you for letting us know.

how did you find this out Paul?

Lev 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

oh because love was the standard of the Old Covenant.

Once again, this scripture, the very words of Yahushua make it clear that the Sabbath was NOT abolished.

Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the set-apart place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Mat 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Mat 24:17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Mat 24:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
Mat 24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
Mat 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day:
Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

I can agree with these words. Legalism is trying to keep the law without love. but without love we have nothing.

You do know that love fulfilled the law in the days of Moses also right?

They were expected to keep it still because love compels one to keep it.

If you truly love someone, you will not want to steal from them, bear false witness against them, murder them, covet what is theirs, etc
If you love God, you will have no other God's before him, you will not make any graven images, or take his name in vain.
You won't even have to think of any commandment in order to keep them, it will naturally flow from loving them

no what the bible teaches is love fulfills all the law....not that if we love we will keep it... Our commandment is to love and in this one word we fulfill all the law.

We didn't know love until Gods loved us through Christ and the Holy Spirit shed Gods love abroad in our hearts.

Amen! That's the simplicity of Christ....and love fulfills the Sabbath as the bible clearly teaches.

Love fulfills the law through us because if you are walking in love you would not steal, covet, bare false witness, murder, and so on.................It is not saying love fulfills it, so you don't have to follow it..

That's exactly what it says!

Yes the bible teaches clearly all the law..every commandment is fulfilled in one word....Love not legalism!

Did that Same God save Israel from Egypt? Did that same God feed Israel and look after them?

I grant you this, though Jesus we have a better revelation of Gods love than they did but they still had His love and saw it.

If you are gonna tell me that you love yet you break the law to not steal then you are a liar and don't know what love is.

Jesus is love and he kept all 10.

You seem to be turning love into some wishy washy word that means nothing.

Love has action because all our actions come from within. If we love we will keep his commandments.

What? when did I say that? What I said was what the bible clearly teaches ...ALL THE LAW is fulfilled in one word...this includes the Sabbath!

Love does not lie or steal..its speaks the truth in love and looks to give where their is a need!

That's exactly what it says!

Yes it does say love fulfills it....

As the bible does not say because of love you do not have to follow the commandments, as what it is really saying is that by walking in love you would automatically obey those commands.

"briefly comprehended"

So your own text says the love is a brief comprehension of:

Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet;and if there be any other commandment...

so its a summery not a replacement.

by the way this verse proves our point.

the law that He quotes is part of the 10 commandments and he says this law is fulfilled by love.

that is why it is written:

Deu_5:10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

Deu_6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Deu_7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

Deu_10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

Deu_10:19 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Deu_11:1 Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.

Deu_11:13 And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

Deu_11:22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;

Deu 13:3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Deu 13:4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

Deu_19:9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:

Deu_30:6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

Deu_30:16 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

Deu_30:20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Love has always fulfilled the law friend that is why Paul said that, it was not a new thing.
