Seen a news article today which states that some scientists in the U.K. (I think I heard right) were one step closer to growing a test tube baby with three sets of genes.......

Gives a whole new perspective to Noah being pure in a moral and forensic sense which the Hebrew supports.......

As it was in the days of Noah............!

Yeah its getting pretty interesting, transhumanism and eugenics. They are talking about if not writing legislation for rights of non-humans. Soon they will be making the creatures of Greek "mythology", or at least admitting they have been doing it. I think the real question is what of the spiritual identity of these abominations. Some people are suspect that these non-humans may be void of a soul and are readily available for demonic possession. Perhaps this is related to the beasts of Rev. Isn't it a shame we even have to wonder about such things?

I think they already have some of this going on.....and gives a whole new perspective to the pictures and paintings of antiquity....Solomon said it best...that which shall be has already been......!

There are parts of the Dna responsible for leading to the formation of what are called mitochondrial cells, which are essentially the energy storage devices within cells. This particular part of the DNA has nothing to do with eye colour, height, hair colour, race, skin tone, and all the characteristics we commonly associated with being hereditary traits in children. The only difference alteration to this DNA makes is to stop the inheritance of mitochondrial disease in the child, and this particular part of the DNA will be the only part legally allowed to be altered, and only in the way mentioned.

What it basically means is that a couple with mitochondrial disease can have offspring that are entirely their own in every meaningful way (by blood, eye colour, hair colour, skin tone, facial features, bone structure, everything) without having mitochondrial disease.

Not saying I agree with it, but that's basically what it is. It certainly is not "creating abominations" or "creatures from Greek mythology".

That's just how they get their foot in the door. Sales tax was supposed to be temporary. The main goal of these companies is developing a new and better human. They have bragged about it. Open your eyes and take a look at the big picture. We have genetically modified seeds, plants, and animals already. This is just making it legal to genetically modify humans. What they tell you they are legalizing isn't exactly what will be. Take a look at Obama's health care. He lied his butt off making promises that were plain false and misleading. Then once the bill went through all of the hidden language surfaced, by then it was too late. He didn't come out saying you will be imprisoned if you don't sign up for health care but that is the law. I've done enough research to know not to trust anything at face value especially where the governments are concerned. They will make centaurs just to prove they can for fun. Human nature is such that they will try to get away with as much as they can, bending if not breaking every rule.

Fascinating to me is that the bigger issue of the number of foetuses destroyed in this process (and the wider process of IVF) doesn't seem to be alarming anyone.

I'm still trying to figure out why the genes are divided in the mother.

If it stays at this level, it is a wonderful tool. I have a genetic problem that has been passed from generation to generation for five generations. My wife has a very serious one that has passed to almost every female in her family for six generations. It would would be great to prevent not only the next generation from receiving a DNA fix for no only the next generation, but all succeeding generations.

All this said, man has a propensity to abuse any new procedure.

This story is from the UK, not Canada.

The main goal of these companies is developing a new and better human.
If by ''better'' you mean ''without mitochondrial disease'' then yea!! :)

They have bragged about it. Open your eyes and take a look at the big picture. We have genetically modified seeds, plants, and animals already.
We do.

This is just making it legal to genetically modify humans.
It is making it legal to implant parts from two gametes into one egg to stop mitochondrial disease. While that is technically genetically modifying a human, it is not unrestricted genetic modification. It's extremely specific, and really not very different from IVF.

What they tell you they are legalizing isn't exactly what will be. Take a look at Obama's health care. He lied his butt off making promises that were plain false and misleading.
This isn't America. As for Obama, he wanted to make Obamacare universal free health care. You can thank the conservatives of congress and their lobbyists for reducing that to what Obamacare now is.

Then once the bill went through all of the hidden language surfaced, by then it was too late. He didn't come out saying you will be imprisoned if you don't sign up for health care but that is the law.
This is irrelevant to the discussion. This isn't America.

I've done enough research to know not to trust anything at face value especially where the governments are concerned.
I trust it where scientists are concerned. Governments only approve or deny the bill.

They will make centaurs just to prove they can for fun.
How does a person create a centaur? Can you explain it in genetic terms?

Human nature is such that they will try to get away with as much as they can, bending if not breaking every rule.
God forbid they should stop a child being born with crippling disease!! The horror!

IVF requires more than one embryo and implantation, often. So couples have maybe ten made, or more. They are kept frozen, and after 5 years or so, become unusable in the procedure (cell walls weaken at low temperatures, osmosis happens, sciency stuff). What should we do? Impregnate women with 10 embryos at a time during IVF?

Those disposals are simply part of the process.

Human is right, this is a way for an infertile woman to have a surrogate with her genetic traits. The trait bearing genes are spliced into a good egg core (basically) then implanted. The child has the mothers genetics.

The others are right too... tell me we sick humans aren't going to take it farther.

Well Human you believe whatever you want, I believe the truth. All governments are corrupt and man is corrupt. Vain ambition is more than enough reason for most to cross boundaries that were set in place for our protection. Good luck closing Pandora's box once the lid is off. Here's a link to start you down the bunny trail, in your own backyard no less.

Embryos involving the genes of animals mixed with humans have been produced secretively for the past three years | Daily Mail Online

Granted you aren't Christian so I won't persuade you with Scripture that forbids mixing of seed. Just acknowledge how natural laws prevent genetic abominations from reproducing. Some things just aren't meant to be.

I don't think test tube babies are possible, because the one that gives us all life has made certain details to men. but jmo bro :)
