Just throwing this video out there for you to watch. Before you watch, we all know that many of you take things the wrong way, so i will explain before hand.

This video is not to put you off, if you want to carry on worshipping paganism, thats by your own will and not of God. second. I am not telling you what to do, and that you should do what a youtube video is telling you to do. However, in the video it has very intereseting things to gain you more knowledge of how Valenting originally came about.

For all you people who don't know the full true background of Valentine, you may be in for a little shock. but for some of you, some of the warnings may go ignored. And for some may already know but not fully understand, and for some that knows and choose to ignore. You can comment, and you can share some biblical scriptures to back up your comments.
But Again this video I posted is not to stop you celebrating a pagan holiday, or its not to start a pagan thread hate. Its just to give you a little insight of the background. And make you think a little if this is right or wrong thing to do according to Gods eyes.

This is a yes or no question. Please answer accordingly.

Are we as Christians, should celebrate Valentine's day? If yes? please show scripture to back up your answer.

Brother, seriously, no one I have ever known "worshiped Valentines Day......." Sometimes, just sometimes we need not worry over such. As for various worldly holidays/celebrations........the vast majority of them did not come from Christian Faith. True, but, as I see it...............the unbelieving masses have had them long enough, time for believers to take hold of them and turn them into a day that praises God........and edifies the Church.

according to some traditions valentine was actually martyred during one of those roman pagan february festivals...

@ Rich

In Latin America I´ve seen it less stressed, except when some people wanted a present (a) or a people as a present (b) but I have read on CC it´s a "must" many have considered since childhood, same way post cards were drawn and sent online...

The more I looked the calendar and feasts, I see the RCC ruled people´s world.

I'm sorry, Brother Richie, I'm going to pass on the video. I can hardly stand the news on television with all the doom and gloom and terror. I prefer not to be anxious about anything and rest in Jesus Christ the Lord.

JESUS CHRIST was crucified that we may live forgiven and free every single day including traditional holidays. If we look hard enough, we can find evil in anything. Or if we look to JESUS close enough, we can find LIGHT & LIFE in everything.

Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

So is this an excuse for Christian husbands to forget about Valentine's Day?

Or more likely, and excuse when they do forget, despite numerous reminders?? LOL

So....is Groundhog Day pagan?

Please don't show me a video, where it exposes Groundhog Day as being pagan Richie!

I need one day, that isn't pagan, man. :(

Are Groundhogs pagan?

Yes, it's even sillier than the belief that Semiramis was Nimrod's wife/mother (don't ask).
At least the belief that Nimrod was the inspiration for Gilgamesh has credence to it. Cupid, not so much.

Hi
I think that Valentine's Day is too commercialised.
best wishes

I celebrate it for the chocolate!!!! :) lol jk... does this make me a heathen now? don't answer that..lol.. just give me chocolate.. :o

Valentine's Day may have had pagan origins, but we have to understand that how does it exist today? Does Valentine's Day promote paganism today? The short answer is no, it does not. Valentine's Day promotes love between couples. While chocoloate companies do make big money off this holiday, I believe the best thing about Valentine's Day is that it gets couples to not think just about themselves but it gets them to think about the other partner in love. It promotes romance and love between a man and a woman. I see no worshiping of chocolate or bowing down to heart symbols on Valentine's Day. Maybe there are some weird folks out there that do. But this is not the general consensus of the holiday. Granted, we should take a step back and make sure we include Christ in our love for our significant other on Valentine's Day. For without Christ, we are nothing. However, if Valentine's Day reminds you too much of the world and is a stumbling block for your love and devotion to Christ, then by all means, do not celebrate it. Just make sure you explain that properly to your Christian girlfriend, fiance, or wife (And that she is in agreement with you).
