No the difference was the worshiping of it, and God only destroyed those who worshiped it.
Just because Aaron made it did not make him guilty of worshiping it as the others, yes he did sin by making it knowing the purpose for it. Which would be something he would need to repent of. The bible however does not say all were destroyed by God, only those who worshiped the calf.

This and plus Moses pleaded with God to forgive those who came back to Him........

You can't see that even though they worshipped the golden calf that God said through the prophet I find no sin nor perverseness in Israel?

That had nothing to do with them, and read post #1339 where I gave a scripture from Exodus 32 that does apply to those who worshiped the calf. God said He blots anybody out of His book that sins against Him.

I Guess making the calf was a MISTAKE not a sin.
he said making it was a sin...
Yes Aaron did sin by making the calf for them, but because he did not worship it he was not destroyed along with them.
Only those who worshiped the calf were destroyed, the others that stayed firm and true to God were not.....

I just know when you are saved, when you have accepted Christ in your heart, you feel the Holy Spirit in which it lives in you. We are human, we fall, we stray, we go off on our own, but we never lose the Holy Spirit. I do believe that our heart can get harden and its harder to hear and feel the Spirit, but its still there.

I was living in sin one point in my life, I was married, the guy I was with was married, both of our spouses left us before we ever got together and we were super depressed. The more I fell into sin the more I heard the Holy Spirit yelling at me pretty much convincing me to turn around, to not go over to his house. I remember laying in bed next to him crying, feeling so far from God. Physically I was happy in this world, spiritually I was far, living in this fallen world. God actually rescued me from the whole situation. As much as I wouldn't listen to God, he decided to change this mans heart and he got up and left one da with really no explanation. This man to this day has regretted ever leaving me, in which he has his own family now ( I don't believe he is a beliver). But what Im saying is, God changed his heart for him to leave, because everyone knew he loved me.

God really saved me from a future that He didn't have planned for me thru my deep depression. Now I don't know if some people who don't believe in once saved always saved, I don't know if I would fall in the category of losing salvation, living in sin.....Im not sure how people can determine when or how you lose your salvation, but NEVER ONCE did I feel the Holy Spirit leave me or anything like that. So do I believe once saved always saved? YES!!! I think we would always question ourselves whether or not if we were going to Heaven or not if we could lose our salvation.

I think this is where God knows each and every single persons heart. Every person battles with something different, but I look at the person and if they are bearing fruit or not. I actually know a few believers right now, going thru a season of walking down the wrong path and all I can do is pray, but I know they know the truth and how to act and what to do. I don't know what lessons God has to teach them or if they are just simply rebelling against God and living of the world. All I know.....is that.....NONE...of us.....know anyone elses heart and whether or not they are saved. Even the most godly people who act and do Christian things have never accepted Christ in their heart, for when the rapture happens, even preachers will be left behind......

Im rambling now.... :)

So how do you reckon Rahab and Ruth. Did God blot out those who worshipped the calf? Did God blot out Bathsheba for sleeping with David or did He blot David out. Why would He make their son King and not from his many other wifes?

Rahab was a prostitute who lived in Jericho who turned to God, and helped the Israelite's and pleaded to them to be forgiven for helping them, so they made a pact for her to put the scarlet cord on her window and stick to her oath to escape death.

I answered you about those who worshiped the calf with Exodus 32:33, and as for Bathsheba and David; David repented of his sins, but still he and Bathsheba was punished by the Lord putting to death their child.
You are now trying to interject other situations that had nothing to do with the Exodus either, and in those situations those people repented....

a simple answer for clarity, perhaps one of several possible answers, instead of perverseness >>>>

from
Matthew Poole's Commentary on biblehub>>

"He, i.e. God, understood Numbers 23:20, and expressed Numbers 23:19,

hath not or doth not

behold or see iniquity or perverseness, i.e. any sin, in Jacob or

Israel; which cannot be meant of a simple seeing or knowing of him, for so God did see and observe, yea, and chastise their sins, as is manifest, Exodus 32:9 Deu 9:13; but of such a sight of their sins as should provoke God utterly to forsake and curse and destroy them, which was Balak’s desire, and Balaam’s hope and design. For as Balaam knew that none but Israel’s God could curse or destroy Israel, so he knew that nothing but their sin could move him so to do; and therefore he took a right, though wicked, course afterwards to tempt them to sin, and thereby to expose them to ruin, Num 25. And Balaam had now hoped that God was incensed against Israel for their sins, and therefore would be prevailed with to give them up to the curse and spoil. But, saith he, I was mistaken, I see God hath a singular favour to this people, and though he sees and punisheth sin in other persons and people with utter destruction, as he hath now done in Sihon and Og and the Amorites, yet he will not do so with Israel; he winks at their sins, forgets and forgives them, and will not punish them as their iniquities deserve. In this sense God is said not to see sins, as elsewhere he is said to forget them, Isaiah 43:25 Jeremiah 31:34, and to cover them, Psalm 32:1, which keeps them out of sight, and so out of mind; and to blot them out, Psalm 51:1,9, and to cast them behind his back, Isaiah 38:17, or into the depth of the sea, Micah 7:19, in which cases they cannot be seen nor read.

And men are oft said not to know or see those sins in their children or others, which they do not take notice of so as to punish them. And this sense best agrees with the context; God hath decreed and promised to bless this people, and he hath blessed them, and I cannot reverse it, Numbers 23:20, and he will not reverse it, though provoked to do so by their sins, which he will take no notice of. Others thus, He hath not beheld, as hitherto he hath not, so for the future he will not behold, i.e. so as to approve it, as that word is oft used, as Genesis 7:1 Isaiah 66:2 Habakkuk 1:13, or so as to suffer it, injury against Jacob, &c. For aven, here rendered iniquity, is oft used in that sense, as Job 5:6,7 Pr 12:21 22:8. And the other word, amal, rendered perverseness, oft notes vexation and trouble, as Job 5:6,7 Psa 25:17 36:4; and the particle beth, rendered in, is oft used for against, as Exodus 14:25 20:16 Numbers 12:1. So the sense is, God will not see them wronged or ruined by any of their adversaries, whereof the following words may be a good reason, for God is with him, &c. The Lord his God is with him, i.e. he hath a favour for this people, and will defend and save them. So the phrase of God’s being with a person or people signifies, as Judges 6:13 Psalm 46:7 Isaiah 8:10. "

over a billion people have been baptized on earth today, and are worse than a thief ? what's to prevent

someone from being baptized and afterwards sinning grievously ? (even not serving the one true

god at all, but idols and doctrines of demons )
Well first of all you can remove the 1 billion plus who have been sprinkled as that is not immersion (baptism)...then you can remove all of the false religions that teach you can lose salvation and or those who teach works and baptism for salvation as their baptism is invalid.....so what does that leave....the MINORITY which teaches ETERNAL SECURITY based upon faith and grace!

NARROW is the path that leads to life and FEW there be that find it as opposed to the broad PATH OF RELIGION AND RELIGIOUS DEEDS as found in the quote above!

There is no debate here.

Salvation is covenant
salvation is acceptance/restoration into the family of heaven. We now are God's property, but at the same time God's family.
salvation is not a mere concept. Salvation is a person,Jesus.

Salvation can indeed be "lost". This is demonstrated in the prodigal story. We see the FAMILY MEMBER had a choice to stay or leave.

Your question should be,"once someone is saved, born again, and tasted of the goodness and peace of God,and the fellowship with the Son and the HS,why would they foolishly defect to the devil?

The good news you should preach is, the prodigal can come back.
OSAS is a rabbit trail
I suggest you open a can of spinach and start eating and open your eyes....

The prodigal was STILL A SON throughout the whole process
Chose to squander his inheritance living by his life choices
Was perceived as dead while STILL ALIVE
Was received as a SON and given a robe and ring
Was NEVER rejected by his FATHER

More ignorance of the facts it seems on your part!

Romans 4:4-5King James Version (KJV)

4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

[h=1]Romans 4:4-5The Message (MSG)[/h]4-5 If you’re a hard worker and do a good job, you deserve your pay; we don’t call your wages a gift. But if you see that the job is too big for you, that it’s something only God can do, and you trust him to do it—you could never do it for yourself no matter how hard and long you worked—well, that trusting-him-to-do-it is what gets you set right with God, by God. Sheer gift.

First read what I said before making comments, as the scriptures make it clear that only those who worshiped the calf and did not repent were destroyed, and they did not end up with salvation as Exodus 32:33 states. God said He blotted their name out of the book for sinning against Him.

Second I like her post because she gave her testimony, just because you highlighted one sentence she said of agreeing with OSAS has no bearing on why I liked her post. Just because she agrees with OSAS and I don't does not me we are to show hatred, belittle, and demean others. We are still to show love and fellowship with each other !!!

You know....SATAN is the accuser of the brethren and Jesus said concerning the self righteous Pharisees that they would do the work of their father the devil....

KEY words and Accusations--->show hatred, belittle and demean others......

You really should grow some skin and not be so easily offended<---a sure sign of spiritual immaturity!

He is talking about accusing them of falsehoods, bearing false witness on others.
He is not talking about calling each other on truth on wrongful behavior toward fellow brothers and sisters as we are called to do. No immaturity is those who think they are doing nothing wrong in their behavior and keep doing it, even though they have been called out on it. I think you still confusing human understanding and interject it into Gods word. As we are called to hold a brother or sister in Christ accountable for their actions in a loving and caring way. Instead of saying do not be so easily offended, maybe you should look at your actions and see and understand why you are offended others and pray about them. Reversing your own issues back on another is not the fruits of repentance.

This too reeks of a lack of understanding....you are accusing me of things that are not true...you are reading in things that are not there and it is obvious what spirit leads you...just like the other day...to leave this thread and go into another thread and begin mouthing me behind my back.....like I have said numerous times...you have no clue and you constantly vacillate back and forth while showing in the very minimum a spirit of immaturity and one that lacks understanding......Many have tried to show you the error of your ways and you like the Pharisee of old are never wrong, never open to learning and instruction and consistently contradict the bible with your views.......so whatever Kenneth...keep trusting your commentaries and man made theologies.....good luck bragging about your works and self-righteous Pharisee type attitude towards men!

Yes the Lord said to Peter get behind Me satan, because Peter was wanting to hinder what had to be done.
So the rebuking was in falsehood, because the Lord said it had to be done and Peter was saying no it won't. This was not about calling another out for wrong doing.

[h=1]Matthew 18:15-17[/h][h=3]Dealing with a Sinning Brother[/h]15 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’[a] 17 And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.

Wrong you have called me names, you did belittle me in front of others, and you did in the past use condemning remarks toward me. Just because you don't see it as such does not make it untrue. You have to remember this is why the bible says to control your speech/actions. Be slow to speak so that you do not say something they maybe offensive to another. Then once again you say many have tried to show me the error, and once again I will correct as it has only been the same 3 or 4 on here, not many. As I have had just as many if not more that agree with what I have said.
You also have been called out just as much as me on where you are wrong as well, but the difference between you and me is I do not come back with belittling remarks to them and do not respond in posts to other people putting that other person down. It is funny how I can have a friendly calm debate with everybody on here except for you and two others. This must say something about your actions, and I am not the only one who has called you out on your reactions back toward others who disagree with you.

Yes the Holy Spirit leads me which is why I am loving and caring and trying to help you with how you speak to others, and not backing down by what the Holy Spirit has lead me to in His word. If a false spirit was leading me as you falsely claim then they would lead me into wrong doings, and not helping me abstain from sins. The Lord can not be against Himself, so a person who is in Christ can not serve both sinful flesh and Him. The spirit of the antichrist from satan serves flesh, and denies Jesus as Lord. I do not deny Jesus as Lord, so your misuse of saying I serve satans spirit is false. Because I profess Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and follow and defend all of His teachings !!!
