They don't scare me... until I find them knocking my front door, I guess.

I've said it before , but it seems to be the general consensus of the end time crowd on here that Rome is the antichrist, so why would it bother anyone if Rome fell to ISIL?
Or would that mean like most end time scurriers they would have to change their predictions to remove what didn't fit?

To actually get to Rome they would either have to travel by land through nine countries, or somehow acquire long distance flight options, or several sea carriers capable of transporting thousands of troops and vehicles.

I'm not saying it couldn't be done, but it's an awful big venture for an army only 50,000 strong. There is no way they could defend what they have unless they completely secure borders, set up a defense infrastructure and government. Which is what they are working on for sure. It just would require a much more massive army than they have now.

Rome is not the antichrist/man of sin, as it is just part of what follows the antichrist, and the book of Daniel says that the antichrist will arise out from the Roman empire nations which consist of more then just the city of Rome.

Daniel 9:26
And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Who destroyed the temple in 70 AD ? The Romans !!!

People (Romans) of the Prince that SHALL come (indicating antichrist will be Roman). The people are the Romans who destroyed Jerusalem in 70AD. The Prince (antichrist) will be of the same stock as the people (Romans) who destroyed Jerusalem but the passage indicated he will come. Thus the antichrist will be Roman.

NO! Rome is not the anti-christ.

Rome and Islam are already merging into one world dominant religion. Rome wants to unite and then take over. Little do they know that is just what Islam wants. Make a pact and then over throw them.

Won't be long now all the parts are in motion. We will hear the shout and the trump of the archangel and we will be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye.

For the cause of Christ

ISIS threatens to send 500,000 migrants to Europe as a 'psychological weapon' in chilling echo of Gaddafi's prophecy that the Mediterranean 'will become a sea of chaos'

  • Italian press today published claims that ISIS has threatened to release the huge wave of migrants to cause chaos in Europe if they are attacked
  • And letters from jihadists show plans to hide terrorists among refugees
  • In 2011, Muammar Gaddafi ominously predicted war would come to Libya
  • He was deposed in a violent coup and killed in October of the same year
  • Islamic State executed 21 Egyptian Christians on Libyan beach this week
  • Crisis in Libya has led to surge in number of migrants heading for Europe

ISIS appears to be composed of Saddam's old gang.

It's obvious to state that that gang is famous for delusional, outrageous, and gradios claims.

Present known percentage of European population Muslims comprise: 5 facts about the Muslim population in Europe | Pew Research Center

But because of their high birth rates (which are far higher than the corresponding rate among the region’s native white Europeans), increased immigration of Muslims into Europe, and native proselytization; Islam is presently the fastest-growing religion in Europe.[SUP][19][/SUP][SUP][20][/SUP] According to the Pew Research Center, the Muslim population in Europe (excluding Turkey) was about 30 million in 1990, 44 million in 2010 and is expected to increase to 58 million by 2030; the Muslim share of the population increased from 4.1% in 1990 to 6% in 2010 and will continue to increase by nearly one-third over the next 20 years, reaching 8% in 2030.[SUP][21][/SUP][SUP][22][/SUP]

"Large numbers of Muslim immigrants to Western Europe have sought to impose their fundamentalist ideology -- reinforced and further radicalized in Western mosques -- onto the surrounding population. Toward similar ends, Muslim immigrants and their spokesmen have pressured Western societies into supporting, incrementally, various aspects of Sharia (Islamic Law) into the mainstream culture. Likewise, they have demanded that the native cultures either make concessions to Islamic traditions in the spirit of “diversity,” or admit that they (the native cultures) are discriminatory and “Islamophobic.” Meanwhile, Islamic immigrants increasingly elect not to assimilate into their host societies, choosing instead to cultivate ethnic separatism and push for the creation of a (Muslim-only) state-within-a-state." -Discover the Networks.

Of course, this could be greatly exacerbated and the timeline accelerated if Islamic groups can figure out how to materially increase Muslim immigration into Europe. Successfully inserting large numbers of Muslim illegal immigrants into Europe and getting Turkey inducted as a member of the EU would be one such strategy.

Addressing title of OP: Haven't they been saying that for hundreds of years? (or words to that effect?)

The obvious fact that ISIS bases not just its strategy, but its religiopolitical philosophy, on the tenets of Islam cannot be denied. Our "president" wastes precious time and rhetoric trying to pretend that is not the case. Tying this jihadist movement to economic and sociopolitical motivations obscures the ways in which ISIS can be defeated and extends the length of time it will take for an American government to decide to do something besides flap its jaws about "jobs programs, endemic poverty, and lack of educational opportunities." That isn't why ISIS exists, and I think Dumba** knows it.

What begs the question is the view of adherents to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and his caliphate theology that they are the key to apocalypse.

That question: What if they are?

It would not be the first time that the enemies of God actually were able to speak prophetically about what God was going to do.
John 11, NASB
48 "If we let Him go on like this, all men will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation."
49 But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, "You know nothing at all,
50 nor do you take into account that it is expedient for you that one man die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish."
51 Now he did not say this on his own initiative, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation,
52 and not for the nation only, but in order that He might also gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.
53 So from that day on they planned together to kill Him.

Certainly, that is a case of wrong motivations reaching right results, from the perspective of God's plan. As The Atlantic article says, ISIS, because it believes it is the catalyst for the final judgment, rejects peace as a matter of principle, it prefers genocide, the more abhorrent the better so as to catch the world's attention and force the world to focus on what ISIS believes about itself. Changing, adopting a different profile in order to survive, is beyond its capability to grasp and understand, given it sees itself as an omen, a herald of the end of the world.

If they are right, as was Caiaphas even if for the wrong reasons, what, if anything, can we really do?

Jesus died so we can have life more abundantly, God never calls for our blood, because we have Ones blood that rescues us all, The Messiah. He tells us to turn the other cheek and to love our enemies. He never said to let evil just over run, David was in many battles and wars. He was king, the people obeyed. We are also called to obey, be active not scared, spreading Gods word to unbeliever whenever possible, even muslims. We are also called to fight, not just give in because of love. The enemies need tough love, and to be calmed down. We need to get off the oil though and find other sources like electric cars, that's our main problem in these countries. We also need to isolate these extreme failed countries and hold others in power accountable for supporting these groups. Until these things happen war is necessary.

Ecclesiastes 3:8 - A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
