As christians how do you legitimize a real doubt when satan can use doubts on you as well.

I suppose all doubts are brought on by Satan, if you think about it. No doubt can be legitimate because all doubts are sins, it's an act against God to believe he doesn't exist.

Say that the doubts that cause people to stop them from speeding does that debunk your statement, or does it still stand under some condition.

Ok that helps.

We all have doubts right, now most of us take our doubts seriously because they warn us of things. What my OP is asking, is if satan can also cause christians to have doubts about things to, how does the christian know whats a legitimate doubt and whats not.

Maturity of faith, God-given wisdom and discernment -- these are what we need to ward off the doubts of Satan. We attain those attributes with regular study of God's Word, daily prayer and consistent worship of God (both individually and corporately).

Did you have difficulty at all in analyzing my question.

Yes, I did have difficulty with your initial question. Once you clarified, it made perfect sense. And I supposed a better way to express what I mean is that we cannot "ward off" Satan's doubts, but we can identify better which doubts are from God and which are from Satan. That comes with spiritual maturity.

So there are good doubts and bad doubts, like negative and positive doubts. I myself have experienced both of these types but I still resist the negative doubts and accept the positive ones. Do you think satan can give positive doubts as well since he can masquerade as an angel of light?

It would really be helpful in understanding your situation if you shared with us how you can be to a Christian and baptized.

S you made a comment about doubts that cause people to keep from speeding and good doubts versus bad doubts. I think of it this way: a good doubt, like the one you mentioned that reminds you you shouldn't speed in your car, is your conscience. A bad doubt is one against your faith, like thinking that God doesn't exist, and is sin.

You also mentioned Satan masquerading as an angel of light- I suppose he could plant good doubts if he wanted to, but why do that? It would be counterproductive to his cause against God.

I wonder too sometimes.

I have doubts about your question as I don't really understand it either. Everybody has doubts at one time or another how do we know what doubts come from satan or not? What makes one doubt more legitimate than another? Maybe it's just because I'm Blond but I don't get it.

Are you trying to say, S, that God gives us doubts about believing in Him, and so does Satan.... So, you think we are to determine which one of them is putting doubts in our minds?

Isn't that just a little bit dumb, to even pose such a question?

But not enough to give me a straight answer?

That tells me more than I'm happy to know.

I never doubt the existence of God these days. When I was a young Christian, sure, I had doubts. That is why I said that spiritual maturity is key. I simply don't have many doubts any longer -- Only pricks at my conscience (as someone noted earlier).

IDK, I think if one is really walking with the Lord, those bad doubts just disappear.
