Ironically, that's not "off topic" at all. Again, there are no "heavenly mansions" actually spoken of in scripture, but the eleven to whom Jesus was actually speaking will apparently reside with Him in "dwellings" or "rooms" in a coming temple ON MOUNT ZION.

Go figure.
See, this is a perfect example........goodness. This is YOUR INTERPRETATION of Scripture only.

John 14:1 .) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 .) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 .) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 .) And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Interpret it as you wish, but be sure to state that your interpretation is JUST THAT.............YOUR interpretation, and NOT Biblical Truth..............goodness.

A "perfect example" of what?

You refusing to let the Bible interpret itself?

As I already documented for you/others, Jesus previously defined what the "Father's house" is and it's NOT "heaven".

I also previously documented for you/others that Jesus said that this would all be fulfilled when He "comes again".

Etc., etc., etc.

If you don't believe Jesus, then that's your own problem and not mine.

Hmmm, well, yeah, that is what I was saying.........Your interpretations are not Biblical Truth, they are your interpretations.
Every member here can quote Scriptures to support their interpretation/ideology/theology, does not make it Biblical Truth.

Making assertions that YOUR interpretation is Biblical Truth, and the interpretation of others is false teachings is:

A "perfect example" of what?

I believe the New Heaven is where our abode/(huge) room/mansions--whatever you like, will be located.

Remember it will be laid out like a cube, 1,400 across and 1,400 miles up in the air.

I believe given the immense height of the New Heaven, there will be multiple floors, each floor having streets and homes/houses/rooms. If you go to your room and open it there may not even be a roof! There will be enough room for a lake if you desired and if God gave you one (I hope there is so I can go fishing) and there will be ample room.

This is all what I think, everyone has their own interpretations.

These mansions are in the New City Jerusalem, we live with Jesus in the Holy City for 1,000 years. Your mansion will be exactly as you want it to be, for Jesus already knows your heart and has prepared the place for you beforehand. After the thousand years in the Holy City on Earth, you will get your own planet in the universe to design and form as you see fit. You will then come back to the Holy City every Sabbath to fellowship with others and to praise and worship God.

^i^ Responding to OP
Our own planet? what makes you think that?

Would be cool though.

"Sion" with an "s" only appears twice in the Old Testament and not in all English translations as I'll show in just a moment. The first place which it appears in the KJV is here:

"From Aroer, which is by the bank of the river Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which is Hermon," (Deuteronomy 4:48)

This "mount Sion" is NOT the Mt. Zion which we read of elsewhere all throughout the Old Testament in that it is actually Mt. Hermon. Also, the underlying Hebrew word "Siy'on"...

Hebrew Lexicon :: H7865 (KJV)

...which is here translated as "Sion" is NOT the same underlying Hebrew word which is elsewhere translated as "Zion" all throughout the Old Testament. In this instance, the Hebrew word "Siy'on" simply means "lofty" so it was used in a descriptive sense in relation to the "lofty" Mt. Hermon.

The only other place where the word "Sion" appears in the Old Testament of the KJV is here:

"Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed." (Psalm 65:1)

This "Sion" is definitely the same "Zion" or "Mt. Zion" which we read of all throughout the Old Testament. Here, the underlying Hebrew word is "Tsiyown"...

Hebrew Lexicon :: H6726 (KJV)

...and it appears a total of 154 times in the underlying Hebrew of the Old Testament and in 153 or those 154 times it is translated as "Zion" in the KJV and Psalm 65:1 is the sole exception where it is translated as "Sion". Why the change in spelling by the KJV translators? Honestly, I have no idea whatsoever, but, again, it is spelled with a "Z" in many other English translations in Psalm 65:1 as you can see here (click on the verse below and it will take you to a site with translations of this verse in different Bible versions):

Psalm 65:1 Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion; to you our vows will be fulfilled.

Only because I received an email from a damsel in distress...
LOL! Thanks, that bothered me because Peter speaks of the stone most precious (said to be laid in Zion in the OT) but in Sion in the NT,

Peter says,

1 Peter 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

This is written in Isaiah

Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

Paul says the same,

Romans 9:33
As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

So we have two NT scriptures speaking of Sion (with an S, excluding Heb 12:22) where the OT calls Zion.

So the NT places Sion in the places where Zion is. This is one of the reasons I ask, I didnt see much of a difference between their uses.

Zion is noted as his dwelling, even the city of God

Isaiah 8:18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

Which I see as Mout Sion (ye are come to) the city of the living God (and unto Jesus) that precious stone laid in Zion/Sion, which is why I was kidding with the MAN-SIONS (plural as the mountains of zion) as its a picture of spirits of righteous MEN made perfect (as is shown there) which is the place where the stone (Jesus Christ) is laid (and we as lively stones) are shown coming there, even unto God (and as also unto Christ, a living stone) and ourselves being built up a habitation of God by the Spirit.

I was trying to GET TO THERE but I couldnt for the life of me get there fast enough without cement walls being thrown up at it LOL

He writes on them the name of the city of his God also

Thanks for answering a damsel in distress, If you want to talk further about His dwelling in Zion/Sion just start another thread (I guess).

It is actually on topic if you can see it though.

As long as there is no mortgage, HOA fees or upkeep on our yards?
........I'm good with whatever they may look like.:)

I am 1000% agree. My house is an old house build on 1947 ugly but I don't have a mortgage, and with my low income, still worry for the utility bill and property tax, and upkeep the yards.

Nothing good on earth. I am looking for my future home as long as not worry for utility bill and property tax.

You asked!:)

In reality, I really don't care about that stuff.
I don't.

Every night, I drive my gold plated Lamborghini home to my 18 bedroom mansion built of diamonds, and pray that people will stop being so into worldly things.

Oh well.:(

One of my freinds in Abler PA was actually allowed to drive her dads Lamborghini, and we would go out on the town in it. It wasnt gold it was all steel (or silver) or something like it, and everyone coveted that car. I would have never known what that was unless someone told me, not to say I wasnt covetous myself, just cars and houses werent ever my thing.

I cant say that really, given now, I am more partial to those those tiny homes on wheels now. My husband wont go for it because he couldnt fit in one of those standing up, he hates the idea.

Who said anything about "a bodily resurrection to reunite the physical body with a SPIRIT BODY"?

I certainly didn't.

Why is it that every day my posts are "quoted" and then people argue against things which I've never said?
If you do not believe in a bodily resurrection I do apologize. Please explain the purpose of the resurrection at Christ's return, if their are souls already in heaven. What is the need for a resurrection?
