If you know Him, then you have no fear of not being known by Him.
If you pretend to know Him, then yes it would be presumptuous.
A lot of people say Saints are sinners. They have accused me of being a hypocrite for calling myself a Saint. Do you think it is a term that we should direct towards others instead of ourselves?

Christians are saints and sinners-the honest ones admit it!

We can be confident of our position in Christ, and the sanctioning work of His Spirit in our lives.
If you have been set apart as holy before God, through the Blood of Jesus Christ, then you are by definition a saint.
Should we brag about this? Yup. But boast of nothing else.

Michael, I do focus on holiness because so much of the Word focuses on it. It is our identifier, and our calling.
Our salvation is not contingent on our works of holiness, but works of holiness should certainly be a byproduct of our salvation. And that is "discipleship". Teaching others to grow in grace and knowledge; pursuing the works prepared in advance for us to do, along with the meaty doctrines.

Do you think God answers prayers for other peoples salvation? Or would that violate the persons will in some way?

It seems you have the first part already: the bad news, that we need a Saviour.

So here is the Good News, the Gospel:
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who God sent to give us salvation. He lived a life without sin, and a life full of righteousness. He was killed, but through His death, He paid for all our sins. He had the power to, because He is the Son of God. He had the ability to, because He lived perfectly. It can apply to us, because He was one of us, a human, and He relates to us.
But the story doesn't end there. He was buried, but then rose from the dead on the third day. He was seen by over 500 witnesses!
His promise to us is: that if we believe in Him, in who He was and what He did, that we will be raised like He was when He returns. More than that. If we believe in Him, we gain eternal life, and an eternal Kingdom.
Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead, and His sacrifice is enough to cover your sins, and grant you eternal life.
Do you believe in the power of this Good News, to save you from your sins?
Then you are saved.

(Then we turn to Romans and Ephesians, and begin talking about having confidence in Christ, and pursuing holiness, and getting in fellowship with a local body of believers).

Did I do ok? I feel like a question/answer format would be way more personal and effective.
You need to engage the person more, find out where they are spiritually, and asking thoughtful questions is a good idea. I have a friend, and she leads people to Christ almost every day. She uses her testimony and their life to weave the story of Jesus from their lives to her story of amazing salvation through Christ.

A great book on this topic is "the unbelievable gospel" by Jonathan Dodson, which has some interesting metaphors for salvation, based in Scripture and the needs of the person, and striking the scales off the eyes who are blinded!

I would love to hear how this progresses!

Sophia I would not disagree at all. As long as a convert understands they are to grow in holiness, and do works out of love and gratitude for a free salvation, and not to earn a righteousness before God by doing so, that for me is what needs to be stressed.
I am afraid I come from a background, where much was demanded, but grace in its fullness was not preached. The result was all too often disasterous. That is why I emphasise often what I do.
Righteous living should always be preached, but just as much must the amazing grace Jesus died to give us, and the truth of how sin is to be overcome in the individual's life

Here's the gospel according to wheresenoch

Hey _____, how's it going? What have you been up to?
You know Jesus can live inside you if you want.
It isn't hard. I can help you. Just ask Him in.
He can make you stop doing all those dumb things you always choose to do.
You just have to ask Him in.
You won't be such a jerk to people all the time.
Just ask Him in.
He will change you and you won't be yourself anymore, from the inside where He will live and fix you.
Are you ready to ask Him in?

Then if they say yes I put my hands on their chest and we pray Jesus into them

Do our prayers change the will of God? I don't think it works exactly like that.
Does salvation violate the will of a person? Yes. No one seeks God. God is the one that comes to find us. We recognise His voice because we were chosen, not because we chose Him.

He does answer prayers for the salvation of others, but usually because prayer aligns OUR will to His Will. When we pray, it brings us back in line with Him and His Will for us and those around us.
Does prayer change "election"? No.
But we don't know who is elected, so we pray fervently all the same... and also fervently witness to such individuals.
If it is a burden upon your heart, bring it to God.

It is hard to engage in a monologue, lol.
I fully admit that the presentation was totally inadequate.
I'll look up the book.

Yea, our focus does often come out of our own testimony. I think that's how God planned the Body to work. Each with a different role, all being under one head: Christ.

And yet you will not be satisfied until I say that salvation is by works.
The gospel according to SeaBass - "salvation is by water and works and is maintained by works." The gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16). The gospel is a message of grace to be received through faith. The gospel is not a set of rituals to perform, a code of laws to be obeyed or a check list of good works to accomplish as a prerequisite for salvation. The gospel simply sets forth Christ crucified, buried and risen as the Savior of all who believe/trust in His finished work of redemption as the all sufficient means of their salvation.

I heard a sermon online by a minister. He said roughly 85% of people who make a commitment to Christ walk away from the faith. He believed the reason that figure is so high is because so many do not know Jesus died for all the Christians sins, past, present and future. One man who listened to the sermon repeatedly heard it 250 times. He said he came to realise what was preached was the truth, yet he had gone to church all his life.
In reality, many ministers will never preach that from the pulpit, they are afraid people will view it as a licence to sin. It is tragic, for in that knowledge is victory over sin

Good News:

If you have never truly accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, or if you are living in unrepentant sin, and you feel lost and trapped; Well, I am here to tell you that there is good news and that there is hope for you. For what must you truly believe to be saved according to the Bible? What must you believe to have that real relationship with Christ that brings love, peace, and true assurance of salvation? Well, please check out the following verses below.

What must you believe to be saved?

#1. Admit Your A Sinner:

Romans 3:10-12

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one."

Romans 3:23

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

2. Realize that there is a Judgment or Consequence of your Sin:

Hebrews 9:27

"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"

Revelation 20:12

"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."

Revelation 21:8

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

Revelation 20:15

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Romans 6:23

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

#3. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior:

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day…"

John 3:16-17

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

Romans 5:8

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

1 Peter 2:24

"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."

Isaiah 53:5

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

2 Corinthians 5:21

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

1 Corinthians 15:22

"For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."

Romans 5:17-18

"For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life."

Ephesians 1:7

"In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"

Ephesians 2:8-9

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast."

#4. Call Upon the Name of the Lord:

Romans 10:13

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

#5. Repent of Your Sins:

Matthew 4:17

"Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Luke 13:3

"…Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

2 Peter 3:9

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

1 John 1:9

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

#6. Confess With Your Mouth the Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 10:9

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

#7. Endure in Your Faith to the End:

Matthew 10:22

"And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved."

Well, the teaching that future sin is forgiven is not taught in the Bible. In fact, I believe it is a dark and evil doctrine of devils that leads people into thinking that they have a license to sin (Because holiness is rarely ever stressed as the requirement for their faith being true in connection with this false teaching).

The gospel involves repentance. If there is no repentance then there is no Godly sorrow, which means one has a worldly sorrow which leads to death.

It is true. Works does not save a person in and of themselves. But works always follow a true saving faith, though. It is the proof in the pudding that God lives within you. We are not saved by works because if we sin, we do not go out tomorrow and do more works of righteousness to be saved, but we get our hearts right with God thru confessing and or repenting of our sin.

Also, someone mentioned how we do not have to receive Christ to be saved. What kind of junk thinking is that? Revelation says Jesus stands at the door of a person's heart and desires to come in and sup with them. John chapter 1 says, as many as have received him, gave he the power to become sons of God. Scripture also makes it clear we cannot be out of fellowship with Christ and be saved either (1 John 5:12).

There is not one single word of truth of the gospel in this post, NOT A SINGLE WORD!!!!!!!!!

The gospel is Jesus Christ crucified through death, through burial and through resurrection from the dead. To believe this in the heart saves the lost soul and justifies that lost soul completely, giving them perfect righteousness and a perfect standing with God and there are absolutely no works involved before, during or after that person believes and trusts in the gospel. Works have nothing to do with providing evidence of salvation that takes place in the heart and soul of a lost person. That is a popular evangelical belief that has no place or merit in the mercy of God. The lost soul is drawn to the gospel when they hear it and that drawing meets up with faith in the heart and turns the lost soul from self unto God through the gospel. The proof that we are saved can not be seen because salvation came by faith. Forgiveness and cleansing of all sin came by faith. Righteousness is imputed by faith. Justification is by faith and faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence (title deed) of things not yet seen.

A redeemed and justified soul can not be judged based upon repentance or confession of sin. God does not impute His righteousness to a lost soul based upon their repentance and confession of sin. God does not mark with approval any soul that repents and confesses their sin. God approves of His Son and those who believe upon the one whom God approves are accepted, given perfect righteousness and justified completely based upon that approval. When any man trusts in the one whom God has sent and approved, then and only then are we saved and given eternal life that we might not perish. For anyone to propagate otherwise is a gospel outside the perfect will of God.

Faith without works is dead. For the devils also believe and tremble. Without holiness no man shall see the Lord. He that committeth sin is of the devil. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. For Jesus said you will know a tree by it's fruits. For He said, you cannot serve two masters. For you will hate the one and love the other. Peter identifies the false prophets in 2 Peter 2:1, 14 as those who have eyes full of adultery and who cannot cease from sin. Jude 1:4 NIV says there are those who have turned the grace of our God into a doctrine of immorality.

Oh, and yes, God does forgiven sin when we confess sin, too. 1 John 1:9 says, if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. That is what the passage says. 1 John 1:7 says if we walk in the light as he is in the light then the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. Light is in reference to obedience to God's good ways (See 1 John 2:3-6); And darkness is in relation to not loving your brother (See 1 John chapters 2-3).
