In other words, people do not care how much you know unless you first show them how much you care.

Also look over 1 Corinthians chapter 13 again, too.

I say this not to wound you, but in love. A call to love;

And what is more sweeter than love?

For God is love (1 John 4:8).

FINALLY. It only took 48 posts to actually post something from the book.

This is only a few of hundreds...notice how the "sodomite" passage was changed, and isn't that convenient for modern day laws? The NIV editor who made sure such changes were added in their work of creating enough substantial changes to secure copyright for exclusive profiting was a known lesbian with full support and equal authority with the other editors on the NIV board.
First of all, the Lucifer thing. I've written extensively about it before, but last time I did, no one really replied. I'll link it here, and you can feel free to cross post back here if you like. TLDR, the word was understood at the time as referring to the morning star, the imagery is of pretending to be like God so the idea of morning star fits (regardless whether you think it is referring to the Babylonian King or Satan), the Greek term for morning star used in 2 Peter 1 is interchangeable with the word used in Isaiah 14 in the Greek versions, and the idea is that Jesus is the true morning star, so the fact that the word is used of him later in the NT and of a pretender in Isaiah should not present any more of a problem than the idea of pretender shepherds, pretender Lords, pretender Gods.

shrine prostitutes - is actually the accurate term in Deuteronomy 23:17. The word for sodomite in v. 17 of the Hebrew text (קָדֵשׁ) is actually different to the term used in v.18 of the Hebrew text (כֶּלֶב), which the KJV translates as 'dog' but was actually the term for a sodomite, or male prostitute (only men made use of prostitutes in that time or place, so it was always an act of sodomy to have relations with a male prostitute). The term in v17 is specifically taking aim at fertility cults that were among the pagan nations - they believe prostitution was a way to ensure agricultural success. v.18 is the one addressing regular prostitution. I don't really see how this particular section can have much to do with modern day laws when other sections of the Pentateuch (let alone the NT) deal much more directly with homosexual relations, and no less clear (and in some cases more clear) than the KJV.

Deut 32:22 and lowest hell You'll note that the idea of the verse is to illustrate the size and scope of the Lord's anger. His anger is so powerful it reaches all the way to the bottom of the earth, to the realm of the dead. The word, Sheol, was the word used generally to refer to the place of the dead/death, and is the word translated in Greek as Hades, (different to the word Jesus most often uses, Gehenna). See particularly Psalm 139:8 for more on this.

I don't know if you can read this message once you're banned, SaintJoeNow. But if you can, I just want to say that you came in here with both guns blazing expecting everyone to immediately knuckle under to some author who earned a PhD. Jesus didn't have a PhD. In fact, Jesus said not many wise or noble or mighty are called by Him. So why would a PhD be impressive to you? Carnal knowledge doesn't hold a candle to following after Jesus like a sheep. The Apostle Paul compared his previous life of being in legislative council and all his past accomplishments as "dung". You can't get any more worthless than that.

Your anger is going to do you more harm than good, Joe. Your wrath against people who don't agree with you does not work out the righteousness of God in your life. Perhaps God in His great mercy led you here so that maybe you would have the opportunity to be released from whatever it is that's making you so upset. Maybe the Lord wants to erase the picture you have of Him in your head, like an angry, threatening task master who humiliates and degrades us into obeying Him. I'm betting your childhood wasn't filled with a lot of love and joy and peace.

Anyhow, I pray in Jesus' name you be released from your anger and find rest in your soul, brother. Grace to you in the Lord! ♥

  • In New Age Bible Versions, G.A. Riplinger objectively and methodically documents the hidden alliance between new Bible versions and the New Age Movement's One World Religion.
New Age Bible Versions takes the reader behind the scenes to expose the corrupted Greek manuscripts, critical editions, lexicons and dictionaries behind new versions such as the NIV, NASV, NKJV, NRSV, NAB, REB, RSV, CEV, TEV, GNB, LIVING, PHILLIPS, NEW JERUSALEM, & NEW CENTURY. New Age Bible Versions goes on to reveal their occult origins and contents.
Each page of New Age Bible Versions opens a door exposing new version editors — men in agreement with Luciferians, occultists, and New Age philosophy —find these men in mental institutions, séance parlors, prison cells, and court rooms for heresy trials— and most shocking of all — denying that salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ. Five new version editors have lost their ability to speak.
Dr. Gail Riplinger also exposes yet unreleased material — a blueprint for the Antichrist's One World Religion and government.
I have to concur that the book is OK. Guess my "testimony" about it is similar to that of Jason. Bought it in the early 90s while being newly saved, I thought it had good features and it spawned a further interest in me to dig deeper into the history of translating the Bible. I do still prefer the KJV as for english translations but do not see it as totally inerrant. And I'd never go about making strife about it vs those who prefer other versions.

Edit: The OP is now banned, but I am sure the topic comes up again and again so maybe this thread can serve as one of the several examples of how the KJV-only debate goes on at times.

One of those times I wish someone hadn't been banned. It tends to ferment the issue in people's minds, that they are right. I don't know, would have preferred the discussion to continue, especially as we were just getting to something substantive instead of just name calling. Ah well.

For the record, the Riplinger book is more or less trash. Roundly criticised when it came out in the 90s. I've read it, and a lot of what's in there is scaremongering or trying to paint out issues to be bigger than they are. If you're going to mount a KJVO argument, don't do it on the basis of her book.

EDIT: Actually, I don't think she has a PhD. I think her tertiary qualifications were in interior design.

Cont, I want you to ignore the OP and ignore the links I sent you and I want you to continue boasting of how your intellect makes you the authority for bringing the Word of God to the English speaking world, ok?

Now all bow down to Controvertial who is the Holy Spirt translator of the lost Word of God so he can tell you what it says.
This is just plain foolish and sets forth immaturity and ignorance on your part...grow up man...serious..!

Ah, Mulgoa. Nice place, nice part of the country before you hit the mountains. Get up to the Hawkesbury if you can, and make sure you get into Sydney city itself, if you have time.

Just make sure you don't talk about throwing a shrimp on the barbie. Literally no one in Australia calls prawns shrimps. If you remember that, you can't go far wrong ;)

Yeah I worked hard to get there as well....I live on 40 acres in Mark Twain National forest in Missouri...off the grid...generate my own power and for the most part get to study and cc all day HAHAH....I prayed to God to move me there after 9-11 and he answered.....seems like it will get real difficult for believers before the end of the age and to be honest...sometimes I am just sick of society and fully enjoy the (woods) HAHAHHA ;)
