Most if not all people here are talking from the Christian point of view only, as it the whole world knows about Christ and Bible the way Christians do. This results in poor means to counter other religions. You can't counter Islam with sayings as "it's written in the Bible", "Christ is right", "common sense" and so on. This may not be obvious here but it is when you go to general discussion forums and confront Muslims. A lot of Muslims defend ISIS like groups and Islam using the same words as we Christians do or saying something like: "Christians do the same".
Islam is a totally illogical religion and is hard for us to understand why it is so successful. There are 1.8 bil Muslims in the world and growing while Christians number is lowering. While I can understand it in Muslim countries, I don't understand why people raised in democratic, Christian countries choose this path. How come? One explanation is that we don't have good answers to counter Islam. Just quoting from Bible doesn't help. That's what I am looking for here.
You come to a Christian forum, and you expect us to post from a NON Christian viewpoint?
That is what makes no sense to me at all. My worldview is totally Biblical, my relationship with Jesus Christ guides everything I do.
What you don't seem to get, is that most of us come from a background that was not Christian. At some point, whether we were raised in the church or not, we had to make a decision to follow Christ or not. If we did not follow him, we would not be here in CC.
I went into a Muslim forum, and did not confront them. I learned about their religion. Because that is what it is. It is not about a relationship with a transcendent God, who is not immanent, not near, and does not hear our prayers nor care about us. It is not like knowing Jesus, and knowing he hears and answers prayers, guides and leads us, and has left his Word for us to follow. Islam is a man-made religion, full of errors.
What I learned in that forum, was how glad I was that I was a Christian, saved by the grace of God.
As for your supposed stats that Christianity is wrong, where are your sources.
"
Encyclopedia of Islam Myths:
Islam is not the fastest growing religion in the world. Islam is the dominant religion of the third world where the birth rate is high. In these same Countries, Muslims are killed if they convert to Christianity."
The Islamic religion has a long history of myth making. The claim they are the fastest growing religion in the world is pure myth. We have collected the latest statistics from David A. Barrett's huge two volume, "World Christian Encyclopedia", the 2001 AD edition. In case you haven't heard of this work, it is the world standard for religious statistics.
Muslim's claim that their growth rate is 235 percent and 47 percent for Christianity. This statistic came from the Readers Digest Almanac and Yearbook 1983, and represents 235 percent increase over 50 years. Muslims always leave off the 50 year fact to make it appear they are going 235% every year. A simple review of the readers Digest study shows that the growth rate of Islam vs. Christianity is directly linked to the birth rate in Third World countries where Islam dominates and not actual conversions to each religion. Christianity has always been larger than Islam. These statistics from Readers Digest are over 20 years old. Further, we do not consider readers digest to be an authority on such matters. Why will Muslims not quote real authoritative statistics from certified research groups who show Islam is not the fastest growing religion in 3/4's of the worlds countries.
- There are over a billion Muslims in the world today, including 3 to 5 million in the U.S., making it the second most populous religion on earth after Christianity. According to some estimates, Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the world. (The Joy of Sects, Peter Occhigrosso, 1996, p394-397)
- Islam is the religion which has developed from the preaching and life of Muhammad, a citizen of the city of Mecca in Arabia, who early in the seventh century of the Christian Era appeared as a preacher of monotheism to his own people and founded a religious movement which today counts perhaps as many as 300,000,000 followers, mostly in the heat belt from Indonesia to Morocco. (Islam: Muhammad and His Religion, Arthur Jeffery, 1958, p xi-xiv)
Before we examine the true facts from informed statisticians, we want to make it clear that we are not claiming Christianity is the fastest growing religion on earth. Such a claim is a needless as it is irresponsible. Having said this, in terms of sheer numbers, there are more Christians being added to planet earth, than any other religion on earth, including Islam."
235% Growth rate? Islam is not the fastest growing religion in the world
Growth of religion is the spread of religion and the increase of religious adherents around the world. The statistics are commonly measured by the absolute number of adherents, the percentage of the absolute growth per year, and the growth of the number of converts in the world. Studies show that a number of religions have been acknowledged for their largest growth in a number of nations, in terms of numbers and world width, Christianity is the fastest-growing religion in the world."

Fastest Growing Religion; Christianity
Of course, some people chose to focus on North America and Europe, where Christianity is declining because of increased secularism, and the high birth rate of Muslims. If we are talking about converts, Christianity wins, every time!
As for me, the more you talk about Islam, the more I think you are really a Muslim, and this is the start of your debate. From start to finish, it has been about Islam, with you not accepting any explanations about Christianity.
Being a Canadian, it makes me wonder if you really are a Canadian, florian, or if you are, you are also a Muslim, fishing for people to introduce to Islam, which is a religion of rites and rituals, and huge mistakes in the Qur'an, including about Jesus, the Trinity, (the Qur'an says, Jesus, the Father and Mary are the Trinity, which is NOT true!) and how to be saved.
Or if you are talking about the radicalization of western youth, suffice it to say, that youth do strange things. I am glad I will not be held accountable for the stupid choices I made in my teens and early 20's, before I met Jesus. And so sad that these radicalized youth have not met Jesus Christ. How much better for them to know the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, than to join the ISIS cult and die cutting off the heads of innocent Christians (Like the boy from Calgary!)
As I said in my previous post, there is only one way to God, and that is through Jesus Christ. I pray you will come to know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour one day, too!
