Hi,

I have been reading lately on a different thread of some of our different talents. I know that we all have a talent and we all have a weakness. What is something that you are great at? Something you enjoy doing? What is something you are not as good at? How long have you had it?
 
I'm good at making things do what people need them to do. Finding a program for a task you want to do with a computer, using a butter knife to unscrew that door hinge, getting a dog to behave - I can get the job done. It might be rather unorthodox but I'll get the job done.

I'm good with animals. I know how to say "I'm a friend" in a way dogs and cats understand.

I'm not so good with people. If I ever get married my wife will probably need to function as the P.R. person in our relationship.
 
You can tell us wisebeardman, it's safe. Who's going to ask you to do anything from here? We don't even know where you live. ^.^

I really started finding my talents about a year ago, although I was always told that I had a talent for them. Anyway, I have a few of them, I play the flute, cooking, organizing, planning ahead, decorating, lately my accounting classes. I am also very protective over the people that I love, but in a good way. I stand up for other people, but I am not good at standing up for myself.

Hey cmarieh,

You sound like my wife. She is so sweet that others tend to take advantage of her. Instead of standing up for herself she just avoids those people, even her family members. She has grown past this a little over the years, becoming less fearful and more fearless. The Lord and I have tag teamed her in love with this struggle (for her peace of mind,) being patient and gentle. But let no one come against me or her children or back her in a corner or they will see the fury of a tigress. She is quit impressive in these moments, I myself standing in awe, admiring her great courage.
 
my talent is my voice. i sing :) i play the violin. and i pretend to play the guitar lol

something i'm not good at is drawing. seriously. my drawing is the saddest thing ever lol also i'm not good at speaking the truth with love. too often i tell the truth or correct others just because i can. sigh.

I have been told I have gifts in the arts (drawing, singing, writing, languages, sewing, play piano, etc.)
I also have been told that I have a gift with children
Probably because I love both :o

I've always been this way I think. I plan on being an interpret of 3 languages (many more), as well as foster and adopt children.
 
I am good at cooking and memorizing random stuff. My weakness is being accident prone, I can get injured while just sitting in a chair.

I have that in common with you kodiak. Its been that way since I was younger. I have ran into a tree, fallen off a brick twice messing up my neck, falling up and down the stairs multiple times. I have had a lot of problems with my ears which in turn causes problems with my equilibrium.

Wow, I am not good at standing up for myself either....I can take whatever people do to me, but I stand up for people I care about too. I didn't think that was very common.

Your honest. That's good. I pray the Lord gives you the desire to speak the truth in His Love. It will draw people to you (through His Love) and God gets the glory. Without the "in His love" part your just right and that can have the opposite affect and push people away.

I think you will get it over time. Just stay close to the Lord and it will happen. Until then, keep on singing! :)

I fell headfirst into the pavement before, thankfully I don't think it messed up my neck. I didn't go the doctor about that, I had a test to go take. my accidents tend to involve my head or feet.

I don't know what to say. Although, from what you have said, it doesn't really sound like a huge weakness like I thought it was. I suppose I should say thank you, it makes me feel really good about myself that I remind you of your wife. It gives me a peace of mind that I am where God wants me and that is showing humility.

Hey, there was a little brown owl sitting on a wrought iron handrail right at our back patio door last night. It had it's back to us. It stayed there for about 3 minutes then it's head started wiggling and it flew down onto the patio, grabbed a bug and flew away.

Bye, bye birdie...
