You may agree or disagree, but:

The 6th Seal, releases the signs leading up to the Day of the Lord (that will shortly follow under the timing of the 6th seal still). This is based on several key verses of which you can check out in my chronology. Just Google the keywords: "Revelation Olivet discourse chronology."

1. "Day of the Lord" is a general reference to the period or age known as God's Judgment or Wrath. (Revelation 6 with the 6th Seal says the Great Day of His Wrath has come). This Wrath is in response to the cries of vengeance from the saints from the previous 5th seal.

2. "Day of Christ" is another name for the Day of the Lord, but it is used as a distinction here in the New Testament because Jesus is Lord. Anyways, in 2nd Thessalonians 2, the "Day of Christ" (KJV) is translated as "The Day of the Lord" in the New Living Translation (NLT), which is more accurate to our understanding that it is talking about the same period of time or age known as the "Day of the Lord" (i.e. the Day of the Lord begins with the 6th seal and ends when the world being purified by fire). Granted, "Day of Christ" could be used here as being unique because it kicks off the whole event known as the "Day of the Lord."

3. "Day of God" is used interchangablely with the "Day of the Lord" in 2 Peter 3. The use of the "Day of God" suggests that things are drawing to an End for this world and all it's evil works. For in the beginning: God... And in the end: God. For He is the Alpha and the Omega.

Side Note:

In Revelation 1:10, there is the mention of the "Lord's Day." Now, not to be confused with the "Day of the Lord", which is a period of time that takes place during the last half of the Tribulation; I believe the Lord's Day is Sunday. I believe this is appropriate in being called the Lord's Day because this is when Jesus had ascended to the Father to be our Mediator between God and man (Thereby completing His plan of Redemption for us). In other words, His mission was not accomplished until He ascended. While Christ's resurrection is very important part of our Redemption in Christ, the following ascension to the Father was just as equally important. This was the ascension to the Father when Jesus told Mary not to touch Him (Before He revealed Himself to His disciples). This is the Lord's Day.
The day of the Lord is also tied to the resurrection/change as found in the latter verses of Chapter 4 and chapter 5 of 1st Thessalonians...Paul gives the verses that deal with the resurrection/change and starts chapter 5 with the word...BUT of the times and seasons....concerning the day of the LORD....the word BUT ties the two thoughts together and in essence ties the day of the Lord with the timing of the resurrection/change.....

I personally believe ALL THREE days commence at the 7th trump....

1. As Lord he seizes control of all Kingdoms as LORD
2. As Christ he rewards the saints, prophets and those that fear
3. As God he pours out his wrath on the unbelieving world gathered under the beast and his kingdom

YES they were part of the Assyrian Empire, not the other way around. The Border was between UR and Babylon:

That still places an issue though because in Jeremiah 50 where you got your scripture from about the nations from the north, then says later those places are the land of Chaldeans which is why I brought them up.

Unfortunately that is thinking in worldly terms, as we have to go to the Jews to know what is being talked about here.
And I don't know one Jew converted or not converted to Christianity that teaches on the OT that the kingdom to the north just means northern hemisphere. They state that it is the kingdom north of Israel, which could be either Turkey or Russia. Turkey has the second largest military in the U.N. after the U.S., and has threatened the U.S. and Israel here recently if they attack Iran...........
AND Turkey most certainly is PRO-U.S.A. I was stationed there for a Year in the Air Force, and their Soldiers guarded the perimeter of base. They thought just about as much of John F. Kennedy as they did Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, their famous ruler who lived from 1881-1938. Here is why:
John F. KENNEDY, President of the United States of America
Washington D.C., November 10, 1963 on the 25th Commemoration of Ataturk's death

"He was a soldier-statesman, one of the greatest leaders of our era. He ensured that Turkey got its rightful place among the most advanced nations of the world. He has given to Turks the sense of self-confidence and endurance to the Turks, that forms the foundation stone of a nation's greatness. I take great pride in being one of Atatürk's loyal friends."

When I was there, in
1969, they were even selling downtown, afghans with both Ataturk's and Kennedy's picture on them.

If that is what you believe about Turkey then you have not been hearing what they have been saying about the U.S. and Israel the past couple years.

Ezekiel 12:19-20 (HCSB)

19 Then say to the people of the land:

This is what the Lord GOD says about the residents of Jerusalem [in] the land of Israel:

They will eat their bread with anxiety and drink their water in dread, for their land will be stripped
of everything in it because of the violence of all who live there.

.
[kj] 19And say unto the people of the land,

[Thus saith the Lord God of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, [and]of the land of Israel; ]

They shall eat their bread with carefulness, and drink their water with astonishment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.

(HCSB) changes the way this verse should read, different outcomes not same, the meanning changes

and or in

just though I could point this out.

Compare Revelation 6:12-13 with Joel 2:31. You will take note that both passages line up in the fact that they both say...

1. Sun was turned to black (or darkness)
2. Moon was turned to blood.

Revelation 6:12-13 deals with the Sixth Seal.
Joel 2:31 deals with the "Day of the Lord."

Joel 2:31 makes a point of how the how these signs will take place before the "Day of the Lord."

In other words, the 6th Seal is around the time of the "Day of the Lord."

Okay, we will ask him which is correct when we get there. OH, I FORGOT, then we will know as we are known. May not have to ask.

Have you ever heard of Nuclear Winter?

OR the dust thrown into the upper atmosphere from a huge asteroid strike?

Don't get me wrong, GOD moves armies even if they think it was their own idea;
and HE holds all things in the universe together, and HE can send them where HE wants.

Have you ever thought about what happens when HE let's go?

Colossians 1:17 (HCSB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] He is before all things, and by Him all things hold together.

I agree Jason, the "Day of the Lord" is His Second Coming, while the "Day of HIS WRATH" comes prior to that.

Incirlik Air Base" - 2014 operations against the Islamic State
On 13 October 2014, it was rumored that the Turkish Government approved the use of Incirlik Air base to support operations against the Islamic State. However, this was later denied.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incirlik_Air_Base

I suspect that reversal was only Political, because some dummy leaked the information to the US News Media. They only denied our use of our Base there for combat sorties to protect the Kurds. This was because if you study the history of that border fued, Turkey has been running an on again, off again war against the Kurds for DECADES, even when I was there. HOWEVER it is still OUR Air Base, and has been since the spring of 1951. ALSO, there has always been Islamic radicals protesting, however their government still considers the US an ally. When I was there, a large anti-American leftest student demonstration was broken up by Turkish Military in riot gear. We even had one terrorist sniper try to set up to take some of us out, but 1S1K later, one of our Turkish Army guards had successfully protected us.

THEY also helped us in KOREA, and were highly decorated.

ALSO:

Those kind of LEFTIST militant demonstrations have happened near several other US Military Bases overseas. And no thanks to Fonda Jane, it happened here too. EVEN on OKINAWA when I was there. The only Difference that I noticed was on Okinawa it was the Local Businessman's Association that fell out in riot gear and broke up the Anti-American demonstration. So just because there are Anti-American Demonstrations in a Country that is our Ally, it does not mean their Government is no longer our ALLY.

Does the BIBLE describe a coming Nuclear War?

I believe is does, but we get glimpses of it from several places in Prophecy. When we look at the whole picture, all of a sudden, we begin to see a massive war that has not happened yet, and it's end result can only be explained as a full scale Nuclear War. This is a war that HAS TO HAPPEN prior to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. My understanding of Biblical Prophecy is that while we are this side of the event, we can only make educated guesses at how it will all play out; HOWEVER, once the event has happed, it will absolutely fit the Prophecies perfectly. From the verses that I will show you, it is looking like this current War with ISIS, could lead to that unfulfilled War in Prophecy, that goes NUCLEAR.

The attack point of this War ultimately will aim at Israel, and Enemies still come from Syria, Iran, and Iraq, and Jordan gets caught in the middle, and thus they too suffer the devastation. If nukes are fired at Israel from any of those countries that I just mentioned, Israel with their Patriot missile batteries, will do their very best to knock them down before they cross their borders. That would cause many of them to fall in southern and western Jordan.

Isaiah 40:31 (HCSB)
[SUP]31 [/SUP] but those who trust in the LORD will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint.

MECHANIZED INFANTRY

Isaiah 13:17-20 (HCSB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] Look! I am stirring up the Medes{Iran} against them, who cannot be bought off with silver and who have no desire for gold.
[SUP]18 [/SUP] ⌊Their⌋ bows will cut young men to pieces. They will have no compassion on little ones; they will not look with pity on children.
[SUP]19 [/SUP] And Babylon {Iraq}, the jewel of the kingdoms, the glory of the pride of the Chaldeans, will be like Sodom and Gomorrah when God overthrew them.
[SUP]20 [/SUP] It will never be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation; a nomad will not pitch his tent there, and shepherds will not let ⌊their flocks⌋ rest there.

Isaiah 34:6-10 (HCSB)

[SUP]6 [/SUP] The LORD’s sword is covered with blood. It drips with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah, a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
{Edom is Southern Jordan}
[SUP]7 [/SUP] The wild oxen will be struck down with them, and young bulls with the mighty bulls. Their land will be soaked with blood, and their soil will be saturated with fat.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a time of paying back ⌊Edom⌋ for its hostility against Zion.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] ⌊Edom’s⌋ streams will be turned into pitch, her soil into sulfur; her land will become burning pitch.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] It will never go out—day or night. Its smoke will go up forever. It will be desolate, from generation to generation; no one will pass through it forever and ever.

Isaiah 17:1-3 (NKJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] The burden against Damascus. "Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city,And it will be a ruinous heap.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] The cities of Aroer are forsaken; They will be for flocks Which lie down, and no one will make them afraid.
{The area of Aroer would be the area northeast of Jerusalem in Jordan, where the main city would be Phildelphia (Amman), Jordan.}
[SUP]3 [/SUP] The fortress also will cease from Ephraim, The kingdom from Damascus, And the remnant of Syria; They will be as the glory of the children of Israel," Says the LORD of hosts.

Does ISRAEL remain unscathed in this possibly soon to be Nuclear War. NO, but out of the devastation comes the good news of Jews turning to Christ, and that leads to the Second Coming of our LORD.

Ezekiel 12:19-20 (HCSB)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] Then say to the people of the land: This is what the Lord GOD says about the residents of Jerusalem in the land of Israel: They will eat their bread with anxiety and drink their water in dread, for their land will be stripped of everything in it because of the violence of all who live there.
[SUP]20 [/SUP] The inhabited cities will be destroyed, and the land will become a desolation. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”

Zechariah 14:11 (HCSB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] People will live there, and never again will there be a curse of complete destruction. So Jerusalem will dwell in security.

Zephaniah 3:11-17 (HCSB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] On that day {The day of the Second Coming.} you will not be put to shame because of everything you have done in rebelling against Me. For then I will remove your proud, arrogant people from among you, and you will never again be haughty on My holy mountain.
[SUP]12 [/SUP] I will leave a meek and humble people among you, and they will take refuge in the name of Yahweh.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] The remnant of Israel will no longer do wrong or tell lies; a deceitful tongue will not be found in their mouths. But they will pasture and lie down, with nothing to make ⌊them⌋ afraid.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Sing for joy, Daughter Zion; shout loudly, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all ⌊your⌋ heart, Daughter Jerusalem!
[SUP]15 [/SUP] The LORD has removed your punishment; He has turned back your enemy. The King of Israel, Yahweh, is among you; you need no longer fear harm.
[SUP]16 [/SUP] On that day it will be said to Jerusalem: “Do not fear; Zion, do not let your hands grow weak.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] Yahweh your God is among you, a warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will bring ⌊you⌋ quietness with His love. He will delight in you with shouts of joy.”

And some of you thought GOD was finished with ISRAEL. I did not get into Tribulation Events, because we have enough to focus on just seeing there is potentially a pre-Second Coming War that probably will go NUCLEAR, very quickly; but sandwiched in between the above War and the Second Coming will be the Seven Year Peace Treaty with Israel and her enemies. That Peace Treaty will be orchestrated by the Anti-Christ, and his seven year Reign will also be known as the Great Tribulation. But let's save all that for another thread dealing specifically with that issue.

So in conclusion, Do I believe the above War is describing Nuclear strikes? Yes I do.

Do I believe the Current War with ISIS is the beginning of that War? I think that is highly probable.

Bionically I don't see nuke happening. Could I be wrong, of course not, but maybe.
Quote from Netanyahu’s address to Congress:
The U.N.'s nuclear watchdog agency, the IAEA, said again yesterday that Iran still refuses to come clean about its military nuclear program. Iran was also caught -- caught twice, not once, twice -- operating secret nuclear facilities in Natanz and Qom, facilities that inspectors didn't even know existed.

Right now, Iran could be hiding nuclear facilities that we don't know about, the U.S. and Israel. As the former head of inspections for the IAEA said in 2013, he said, "If there's no undeclared installation today in Iran, it will be the first time in 20 years that it doesn't have one." Iran has proven time and again that it cannot be trusted. And that's why the first major concession is a source of great concern. It leaves Iran with a vast nuclear infrastructure and relies on inspectors to prevent a breakout. That concession creates a real danger that Iran could get to the bomb by violating the deal.

What most non-Islamic Countries do not realize, is that the teaching and beliefs of Radical Islam, is that
"One who deceives his enemy into lowering his guard so that Soldiers of Islam can defeat them, that man is a hero for Allah." Breaking a peace treaty is a way for them to honor and glorify Allah. They do not think like the westernized world.

That is why Iran cannot be trusted to honor and keep ANY negotiated treaty.

It is HIGHLY Biblical, and I discussed it in GREAT DETAIL on the following thread that I started July 9th, 2014:

http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/95283-calling-out-bride-go-wedding-lamb.html

He will APPEAR in the sky to call out HIS BRIDE ( the sum total of all true Believers from the O.T. and N.T.). It is not a COMING, it is only an APPEARING. It is only the Second Coming when HIS foot touches the GROUND; and we will be caught up with HIM in the AIR.

NO, I do not want to debate it with you, for I already am convinced that you are but one of the following group:

2 Peter 3:3-4 (HCSB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] First, be aware of this: Scoffers will come in the last days to scoff, living according to their own desires,
[SUP]4 [/SUP] saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? Ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they have been since the beginning of creation.”

Isa 33:14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting x burnings?

Have always thought you could insert nuclear at the x.

And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully,
and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
