in the nt ,strange this was one of the first things changed, regarding meat eating, and the dawn of the gospel being told to gentiles.

all meat is cleaner today, that back then,
when i made black pudding(it call black pudding, in scotland) it was ox, bull blood, cook the blood, then add fat/suet and spice, put in skins,(the black out side coat, and the same skin sausage are put in.) then it cooked again. i was a butcher, meat cuter, that worked in a shop. that sold meat.

Act 10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

Act 10:16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
Act 10:17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,
It is clear that he didn't immediately say "Hallelujah, I can eat pork." He doubted what it meant. What did God reveal to him about the vision?
Act 10:28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
The answer is that the Gentiles are called to salvation and that Israelites and Gentiles are no longer separated by the notion that Gentiles are unclean.
This scripture is not about clean and unclean. The unclean animals were used as a graphic example to a Jew.
