I repaired computers for many years. The most common problem that I repaired was the end results of viruses. When I showed the owner what was done, and the information that the owner had made available to hackers, and how to prevent it from happening again, they would say okay, pay me and leave. Needless to say, I had a lot of repeat business.
I retired ten years ago. The world is much more connected today and there is a hacker around every corner.

I like the phone solicitors who call to inform me they received a message that my computer was receiving error messages. And if I type in such-and-such they can help me fix it.
I just tell them, I don't own a computer. (not a lie, I own 2)
Conversation over.
And then someone else calls back the following week with the same song and dance.
