I am going to speak my mind alright! I am bothered and frustrated with things that people are writing about infidelity in other threads. They continually say "Once a cheater, always a cheater" ... or "he/she will never change", they think they know it all and are God. It's not all true. I WAS a cheater, and I admitted it. It took a lot for me to 'come out' and admit that shameful sin, but I did. I talked to my pastor about it. I spoke to other's about it. I wish that they would not fit everyone into that category, because one CAN CHANGE their evil ways and repent of their sins. Brother RoboOp, LoveLea and Pastor Jeshuvan here at CC prayed with me and for me, and told me that when you ask God for forgiveness, he will forgive you. I repented of my sins, and do not plan on going down that road any longer. Sure, temptation comes and goes, with Satan trying to coax me to go back to his lifestyle, but I will have no part of it. So please ...YES cheaters CAN change. I live for God now, and not for myself or others. I'm happy that I found the pastor that I did. He prayed for me as well.

I am aware of some this being said.

I believe that person was referring to a man who is in rebellion from God (whether saved or unsaved) and is in the moment cheating on his wife. He is also a habitual cheater having repeated offensives against his wife.

In your case, you are a new creature in Christ trying to walk accordingly to what pleases God. He was and is not.

I doubt it was meant as a personal attack on anyone and certainly not towards you. They're probably very unaware of your past.

It was merely an opinion. However, opinions are often like feet. Everyone has them except some really stink.

I am not trying to pass judgement on those that believe that, but I do think those that have experienced being cheated on have not totally forgiven their partner and have not turned it over to God. I do believe that it takes a long time for the trust to rebuild in those relationships as well. I know that the bible says that unfaithfulness is excusable for divorce, but for me personally I don't ever want to get divorced no matter what, as long as I am not getting hit repeatedly. Plus, you have to think that you have accepted Christ in your heart and admitted your sin and seeking guidance in the matter you are on a great start and I fully have faith that you will stay on this path with loving Jesus and living your entire life for him. You have even said that even your husband is willing to change and attend church with you. I believe the reason for this is that he is seeing a change in you and wants that change for himself because he loves you.

I miss living out in the country... Less chance of getting hit by tornados..
I could never live in the city. I like my peace and quiet and not being able to hear the neighbors.
