I ask this almost daily. It seems incredible the mayhem, murder, and perversion of men in this world. Men are incredibly evil..............and then I read something like this.
This woman, and those like her, are the reason for His delay. He is still gathering His flock. Even so, surely it won't be long.

They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”5 For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God,6 and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished." 2 Peter 3:4-6

Phil, try and look at history from God's perspective. There have been much worse things happening throughout time, and Jesus has not returned. Just because we think things are bad, doesn't mean God does.

Jesus will come when he is ready. And not before.

in Revelation, yahweh tells us that he will execute his vengeance on the whole world

AFTER everyone has been MURDERED who is going to be MURDERED for their faith.

(i.e. when the blood shed is complete; whether by the rcc, isis, islam, or other/ all)

that's not all,

there is other WORD also that coincides with when yahshua returns.

Angela, I think that to be impossible. What people are doing to others, to children, the debauchery and evil is surely unmatched.
Let's say, for the sake of argument, that people were just as evil then as they are now. Certainly bad things happened. Cannibalism happened then, and now, and people sacrificed their children, then, and now. I will not put up links to some of the depravity people are doing. NAMBLA, LGBT............the overt perversion is worse now than then. Has to be. Our progression with communication makes it more available.
Now, to conclude the argument, let's look at the population of earth.
The general consensus is that there were 2 to 3 hundred million people then. There is now over 7 billion. Just by sheer numbers our bent for evil over shadows the people then.

Care to give me scripture for that statement?

in Revelation it's right there in english ....
(and in context)

all of the persecuted ekklesia (the underground church) , the living abiding in jesus believers, know it
both
in GOD'S WORD and SPIRIT, and experience it in living HIS LIFE now, today, on earth....

I think just about every generation believes their's is the worst one yet. And probably every one thinks it is so bad that Jesus is bound to come back during this one. I would be hard-pressed to believe anyone from this generation would approach holocaust survivors and tell them that today's world is worse than their's was.

Regardless, when He returns makes no difference to me. Would I change the way I live if I knew?

I'm just thankful He's already come once! That's enough for me!

unless the 'anyone' was about to be beheaded by zealots? :(

On an individual basis, that would be true. But we're talking about the greater state of the world.

yeah, sorry, Matt. i totally agree with the whole,
everyone thinks the world is as bad as it can be in every generation.

i've just had fellow believers, actually living through suffering and persecution at this moment on my mind lately.
Lord God...please help. ♥

Why hasn't Christ come yet?

Rev 10v7: "but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets."

QED!

Civilization was much worse than we are today, and I say that knowing, at this very moment, some idiots in Africa have enslaved children to get mineral out of mines, and a group of idiots are trying to enforce their version of the Quran. I don't think it's a good idea to judge when he's coming by how evil men are.

I'm glad he waited for me, and am happy he's waiting for all the Father has chosen before Jesus returns. I feel more like Lot, but what if there are 50 good men, Lord?

Matt 24.14

[SUP]14 [/SUP]This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole [SUP][g][/SUP]world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the Day of the Revelation of the Son of Man, As it was in the Days of Lot, so shall it be in the Day when the Son of Man is Revealed..... days of Lot, Days of Noah... kind of Similar to today.. indeed...
The Father, knows the Correct time.. He's known it before Dirt and Time were created... the Master says to Watch, for you know not what Hour He comes, be ready, peradventure He find you sleeping... indeed!

I am going to say that I personally think a great phrophet did come recently and the entire world ignored it. If you have not read Neale Donald Walschs book Communion with God go get that book. This is phrophetic work. He might be the arch angel Michael, seriously. Well that's my opinion. peace to everyone.
