This has always puzzled me. Could you, or someone who also believes this way, please explain what more than accepting Christ has to be done to "be ready" for the day He returns? Do we have to have earned a certain number of merit badges? Or, pack a suitcase? Or say a certain number of "Hail Mary" prayers or of the "Our Fathers?"

We have to turn away from sin and ignorance. Some people don't think ignorance should be in that statement but Ignorance is what but Jesus on the cross. The more you know the harder it is to be mislead!!!

Suppose ol' Noah, having been warned of the coming flood, had decided to say screw it God will save me and didn't build the boat. Would God have enabled Noah to dogpaddle those 40-plus days? Or would he have let Noah drown like the rest for his disobedience and lack of faith? We're facing days where, let's just pick one thing, a days food will cost a days wages, if you can find it, and must be bought with the mark of da beast. Perhaps God would have someone prepare for this by stockpiling food and water. That someone is not going to be so cooperative if they believe they're not going to need it. And how many people, unprepared, will cave to the mark in order to get food when they are starving?

God told Noah to build a boat. Maybe God might tell you to buy a bus. If you don't believe, if you're not obedient to it, will God still save you? Or will you be one of the Matthew 24:10s?

When will he come?? We must be able to interpret the weather, and the times!! Beheading, persecutions of the church, the violent men rebelling in fullfillment....it is getting rough out there for sure.
You will hear of wars and a great distress will be on nations. Every one has said it's bad before, and he hasn't come yet....interpret the times......
#1 you will hear of wars.....now that takes technology
#2 a great distress.....now that takes money

Enter into that idea with this, every facet of civilization is connected by something we call technology, and every nation is burdened by money printing and debt.

At NO TIME in history can we hear of things like we do now, and at no time in history has every country on Earth printed money just to keep the whole thing from going under.

When the debt bomb explodes, and they try to establish the new order, get ready, it's over before they do.

How do we know it's gonna be a money thing?? Well, I'm not sure, but I know what is written.

He will send out his Angels to weed out all who sin AND EVERYTHING THAT CAUSES SIN.....Money is a root to all kinds of evil, to kill that tree, take it out at the roots...and then see what kind of distress is on the nations....

I personally am glad he didn't come the day before I came to Him... the answer to your question is the bride is not ready yet.

Ok, so, basically, depend upon ourselves.

After reading a few posts I decided to chime in again with these thoughts.....Yes there have been evil and wicked generations from the first lost man Cain who killed Abel.....but lest we forge the bible does say the following which seems to point to the fact that it will GET WORSE...

1. Evil men and seducers will wax WORSE and WORSE
2. The love of many will wax COLD
3. Very PERILOUS will come

And lest we forget, no matter how you slice and dice the following is also said....

1. The beast/little horn will....
a. Make war against the saints and prevail against them
b. Wear out the saints of the most HIGH<---for 3.5 years or 1260 days or 42 months

And the great tribulation will devastate humanity to the point that if Jesus did not directly intervene for the sake of the ELECT<--SAVED there would be NO FLESH LEFT ALIVE......

No wonder Paul writes...then we which are ALIVE and REMAIN unto the BODY presence of CHRIST......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think it's just individuals more man kind as a hole. When true believers rise up together as one against the evils of our world God will come and help us defeat our enimies. I just believe that. Can't be sure.

Willie willie willie... c'mon, be smarter than that. Big Picture Please! Depend on God to lead you! But that assumes you're going to follow Him. Not everybody follows where God leads. Noah followed Gods warning and God's leading and was saved from the time of the world's trial. Those who in our day and age will not heed the warnings, or God's leading because they don't believe the warnings, are going to suffer from the world's trial just as Noah would have suffered from the flood had he not believed and followed God.

Did Noah depend on himself when he built the ark? NO! Noah depended on his faith and obedience to God. As did God!

There's far too many of you out there who believe confessing Christ puts them in this glorious 'don't worry be happy' waiting room where they may sit in safety while the world's judgments pass them by. These people are going to get a rude awakening, from which many of them will not survive!

Here's a little parable that may illustrate the issue further:

There was a man lived down in a swamp and one day they forecast a hurricane and evacuated the town. A bus pulls up in front of the man's house and they yell "get in there's a hurricane comin' and we're leaving town!" The man waves them on, saying go ahead God will save me. So the storm surge hits and he's up to his knees in water and a boat comes by, again "get in we're leaving!" And again the man says go ahead, God will save me. So now the hurricane's hitting town and the man's up on his roof to avoid the flood and a helicopter comes over and says "last chance, grab the hoist let's go!". But again the man waves them on. "God will save me". Then the storm hits, the man is blown from his roof and he drowns.

Standing before God the man asks, "why didn't you save me?"

To which God answers, "I sent you a bus, a boat, and a helicopter, what more was I supposed to do?"

FAITH is a VERB my friend. It requires action led by God! If you don't follow, God is not obligated to save you from the consequences of your disobedience and lack of faith!

Interesting. And, I see Jesus teaching just the opposite. I think when mankind learns not to hate his neighbor, Jesus will come. The bride will finally be ready.

Exactly. A lot of people think the 'rapture' is going to catch up large numbers of people. Actually, the number will reflect the VERY VERY FEW who will survive until then!

Where two or more are gathered, right?

God is long suffering and full of mercy, it will get much worse before he reappears because our Lord desires for none to perish, we have died with Christ and our life is now hidden with Christ. Be prepared to suffer with Christ for the sake of others, as Peter told us: they who have suffered in the flesh have ceased from sin.
God forgive me but I want to see the face of the wicked at his reappearing. Let God's will be accomplished in Jesus name. Amen.

We do not rise up in anger. We rise up with wisdom and understanding. In today's world you don't need a gun to defeat your enemies. You can do it in the USA with you vote.

Let's see....... Jesus came and told us to love our enemies. Then we are now believing He really said, "Don't really love them, simply 'act' like you do, and then when I come back, you can join me on horseback, riding them all down and slicing them into pieces with our swords."

OK, I think I got it now.

I'm really liking what you have to say Willie
