Trying to lead Simiel to Christ was certainly a good thing to do If that was how God was leading you.

Most of us stopped taking him seriously after he claimed to be God on another thread.

Even starting a thread to keep him occupied so he wouldn't disrupt other threads was worthhwhile

We tend to view trolls with such annoyance that we respond negatively to those who humor them.

One drawback to doing so is that occasionally someone in real pain seeking answers is treated as a troll prematurely.

I have no problem with your approach.

Christ even said that.
Mat 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Mat 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

People either accept the atonement of Christ for their own sins, or they do not.
That is what following Christ meant ACCORDING TO CHRIST.

he was on here for so long because he was looking for help, but did anyone truly try to find out what path he needed to find the way to Christ,

people tend to get into a mob mentality. just like bullying the nerd at school. i'll do it just because they are doing it. then after a while the original bullies are gone and the newer ones keep on the bullying the nerd, not even knowing how it started or why, just that it was the thing to do.

Peter denied Christ before men, 3 times in one night, yet he is still considered an apostle and still quoted from the bible.
Simiel denied Christ and is banned from a Christian chat room.

You see, it isn't even BIBLICAL to let a scorner come into a Christian place, and just let them cause contention, and mock, and ridicule endlessly, on and on and on. That is NOT biblical.

You can "feel" however you like.
But the Bible is very clear about these things.

I think what caught Tintin off guard was that he, like me, thought you were patronizing simiel. I think there may be a time and place for patronizing, but approving his talk of other planets and intergalactic civilizations may be pandering a little too much. That said however, bringing someone to Christ by any means necessary is commendable.

I'm glad you're here, my Sister, and appreciate what you bring to the Lord's Table.

I know Simiel is banned but I think it's important to learn from this situation. I put Simiel on ignore after I browsed his profile and comments. He posted that he denied there was a Creator and a Sovereign God. Most of his posts were a direct affront to the Lord Jesus Christ. He showed an absolute disinterest in hearing the gospel or seeking the Lord.

Those of you who say that we should be Christ-like to him, here's how Christ would have handled it:
Jesus: Give up everything you have and follow me.
Rich young ruler: says nothing, chooses not to follow the Lord
Jesus allows him to walk away, does not chase after the rich young ruler to try to change his mind

Why didn't Jesus keep dialoguing with the rich young ruler? Because the man was not ready to receive Jesus.

Never did the Lord chase after people who showed no interest in Him. People came to Christ for healing, for deliverance, for the Truth, for wisdom, for help, for direction....

There are people who come onto this site who are seeking Jesus Christ. To waste time chasing after someone who proclaims there is no Sovereign God and denies the Creator, who tells you he has the truth and that Christians are in bondage is an absolute offense to the gospel.

Stop chasing after people God is dealing with on His terms. To feel sorry for them and interfere with what God is doing in their lives puts you in control of that situation. Give them over to God, pray for them, and let them walk away.

What your missing is that if God gave grace to someone so close to his son for denying that which he knows to be true then surely those who don't know Christ at all would be given grace too in understanding that they know not

its better to never know Christ than to know him and turn away from him. If you take the words by the letter then Peter should exist no where on the grace list, but only if you understand the word spiritually as it is intended.

there are no special bi-laws to mat 10-33. Only what and how man needs to rationalize it for themselves.
