remember when our ancestors booted England's long dead King George?

so, nope! :)
I was actually wondering if it was Memorial Day weekend! Obviously you don't celebrate the birth of long dead English queens! It makes me wonder why we do in Canada, but no one wants to lose a statutory day off, so no one complains. Plus no obigation to do anything but plant the garden.

Funny how in Vancouver, Kelowna and Edmonton this is the weekend to plant frost free vegetables and flowers, when Vancouver is zone 7 or 8, Kelowna zone 5 or 6 and Edmonton about zone 2 or 3. I learned my lesson about that, and never planted anything that needed frost free till about the second week of June back in Alberta.

I've got a Jesse, too, Mom! But he doesn't seem to mind being called Uncle Jesse. I guess we didn't watch a lot of TV in those days. They were always outside playing hockey, basketball or golf or.......

Yes! So cute at that age tintin! I remember my daughter was four when she started to understand what I taught more about Jesus. So one day she was nearly five. I said honey say something to Jesus and Mommy will write it down. Oh man! She rambled so fast...I nearly fell over at what she said. It was so cute. I never will forget, she said..." Jesus Jesus I wuv You wif da cross on my heart! And tank you cuz you love allll da little childrens
and we are your roses and You are da thorns that po tect us!". I'm telling you I laughed I cried! That just came from a four year olds mind but it was so cute. I will die remembering that! :)
I'm a bit of a shocker. I love children, they're just drawn to me. Most of them, any way. I don't have children of my own, nor do my brothers, so I have to call my friend's children the cutest I've ever seen. And they are! I love them so much!

I wish my friends knew Jesus. Holy Spirit's working on their hearts. He's in control. He'll give us the words to say. We'll just keep showing Jesus in our lives and not shy away from talking about our faith (in a natural, not preachy manner). :)

I was actually wondering if it was Memorial Day weekend!
kis may enjoy this trivia, if he doesn't already know it...

Memorial Day began as Decoration Day after the Civil War (where almost no one was civil :p).

it used to be 30 May, but in the late 60s it got shuffled to the last Monday of May.

and my mom was furious with me for being born on 29 May...apparently i ruined a picnic? :)

I'm sure you are an excellent witness of Christ to your friends and their children. May God use you to draw them nigh unto Him.

Sierra - Sierra

Lord, here I am again
In search of a quiet place to rest
I'm walking in a wilderness
That always puts me to the test
My hope is in the truth
I have no strength apart from You
So when I need to hear Your voice
I have a choice

These steps of life I'll climb
To reach a home to call it mine
On holy ground right by Your side
Is where I need to be
A higher place
Sierra
A higher place
Sierra
A higher place

The miles, they stretch ahead
They twist and turn and never end
Shaking my confidence
'Til I run to Your arms again
That's when, You lift me up
In sweet communion's holy cup
I see the valleys down below
I won't let go
