My way of saying I am not interestes in discussing anything with EG because of our last rounds and given I am being lectures about quoting the word in its context, I bring up the post on the sex addict thing

It wasnt meant to counter anything it was meant to blow off the conversation, but I knew because there are sides here which respond horrendously that the soap box would be taken

yep. as you see here. She can not back what she says, so insted of backing what she says, she makes a straw man argument.

You see. she is perfect and never makes any error in judgment, so we should ALL listen to her.

A sex addict hangs with prostitutes, ask any legalistic person what they would believe, and they will tell you the same. you do not hang out with prostitues unless your having sex with them also (I know this, because I grew up in their faulty and judgmental world.)

She still claims I called jesus a sex addict. which I never did.

desires. do me a favor. If your not going to respond in kind. then stop responding, your continued attempts to tear me down to support your own belief is tiring, especially when it is you who claimed you were sick of attacks. stop being a hypocrite will you not?

I didn't miss nor was I surprised at your attempt at twisting EG's words in an attempt to deceive.

Thats ok.

You missed a child born of God can not sin. And whoever sins has never seen or known God.

I will take the word of God over your straw man argument any day. You may not like me. That does not matter, it is no sweat off my back, Jesus was not here to make people like him either.

A vine doesn't bear fruit when it is being pruned.
John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

John 15:2
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit (((( he taketh away))):
and every
branch that beareth fruit, (((( he purgeth it )))) that it may bring forth ((( more )))) fruit.

Like chastening

Heb 12:11Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous,((( but grievous))): nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them((( which are exercised ))) thereby.

I mean, folks here have got to stop and think for a moment. If we were only talking about one chapter in the Bible here, then I could say some of you might be right. But the sheer number of verses that you have to do gymnastic twists upon God's Word to push a false belief that you can sin and still be saved is just wrong. For there are just too many verses that refute OSAS.

Here are 200 of them.

200 REASONS

Did david bare fruit when he was in the throes of his judgment for his transgressions. Did God cut him off and throw him in the fire? You can cherry pick the bible all day long to bolster your bias but youre hopefully only deceiving yourself.

"Once Saved Always Saved" (OSAS) is the term that once you accept and believe on Jesus, you can never be unsaved (i.e. Hence the name: "Once Saved Always Saved).

Here are a couple of other names for OSAS:

Eternal Security (Baptist Term)
Unconditional Eternal Security
Free Grace
Free Grace Movement
Preserverance of the Saints (Calvinism Version) (a.k.a: POTS)

Hyper Calvinists believe nobody has free will.

Although most will not admit it,
Classic OSAS proponents essentially are saying free will in regards to salvation does not exist after you are saved.

My categorization of OSAS based on people's different beliefs regarding it:

OSAS Classic
This is the false view that you can abide in unrepentant sin and or live however you like and still be saved. Belief in Jesus is all you need to get thru the gates of Heaven.

Mid Range OSAS
This is the false view that a believer cannot live a habitual lifestyle of sin. However, abiding in one or two unrepentant sins before you die will not necessarily send you to the Lake of Fire.

OSAS Lite
This is the false view that you have to be penitent and live a holy life in order for OSAS to be true. If you do not repent and you do not live holy, then you were never born again to begin with.

Another false doctrine that is tied to OSAS and is popular at TOL (Theology Online)::

Mid Acts Dispensationalism (MAD)
This is the false teaching that there are two or more gospels under the New Testament. This false doctrine was created no doubt for people to deny the holy teachings of Jesus Christ. Which is popular among Classic OSAS proponents. For Paul's words on holiness are easier to twist than Jesus' words.

Anyways, the Biblical view on Soteriology (i.e. The Bible Study of Salvation) is called: "Conditionalism."

And then there are those who are twice dead, meaning they were dead in their sins and trespasses, and then born again (made alive) but then would later fall away. Notice, they had fruit for a time, but that fruit had withered to the point of being without fruit.

Jude 1:12
These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

Side Note:

Now, there are some I have ran into who deny that they believe in OSAS, but yet they still believe in a "sin and still be saved" doctrine like OSAS, though; Which is very strange.

maybe you should start with the premise that God can't contradict Himself.
God does not I only see others trying to make his contractict by pitting the verses

Yes and faith is also a fruit of the Spirit so they had fruit and it withereth as shows some believing and falling away.

I have no contention with the scripture either

I dont seek to convince anyone.

What did I say?

Did I slightly mis step and return a tad of the abuse that went unrebuked by favoritism which is evil in Gods eyes?

Desired,

My post was to the Forum in general suggesting that Hot rhetoric doesn't accomplish anything useful.

IT WAS NOT DIRECTED AT YOU! However, you chose to argue with my post.

I was not looking to argue about it. I was trying to be helpful.

I am quite fond of you and I'm not about to start picking on you!
