As for the devil and the false prophet being tormented forever in Revelation 20:10 : First, the English word "ever" (in forever) is the Greek word "aion", which means age. This is the same Greek word used for the English word "world" in Matthew 24:3 talking about the end of the world (i.e. age). Scripture says the beast in the false prophet will be in the Lake of Fire for 1,000 years. However, the beast and the false prophet are demons and not humans. They had inflicted pain and suffering on humanity for more than 1,000 years. Second, when it says forever in Revelation 20:10 it is a colorful expression of strong emotion for the totality of the devil's allotted time of punishment. It is a strong expression of emotion of totality. Sort of like how a man might say to his wife in love, "I am your husband forever." However, he knows he won't be her husband forever because he knows death will separate them as husband and wife in the future. But what evidence is there that Satan will perish in the Lake of Fire with everyone else?

Well, you may or may not know this, but Isaiah 14:12-20 and Ezekiel 28:11-19 are well known verses amongst Christians that talk about the devil. They are passages that describe both the devil and the evil rulers who were living during that time. Anyways, Ezekiel 28:18 says that the fire will devour the devil and he will be brought to ashes. Isaiah 14:19 says the devil's carcase will be trodden under foot. Meaning he will be nothing but a charred up corpse or a destroyed spiritual body.

Also, Scripture says the last enemy to be destroyed is death. This makes the assumption that there are other enemies before death that have been destroyed (Whether death is physical entity and or a power).

In any event, I hope that what I said here has comforted you. But please do not take my word for it. Search the Scriptures for yourself and pray over them and double check it for yourself. Let the Lord guide you into all truth by asking Him (Jeremiah 33:3).

You have a good point. The creating of a picture can both be to convey its significance and also so illustrate what it means.
The problem with such images is they tend to then imply they are static, or exist that way in time.

You want to emphasis the finality of these pictures, what I am pointing out is they are not inclusive of normal unbelievers, so therefore showing a difference.

The lesson for me is to always seek and question, to never assume and take the picture as powerful, but not the full answer. The picture helps me to understand victory, helps me to understand finality, and the need to draw a line under sin and death.

Do you believe the Westboro Baptist Church is correct as a part of having a hate message?
Not fully correct, since they tend to pick and choose certain sinners before others. However the godly hate message against impenitent sinners IS correct.

What Jason doesn't seem to realize is that he is twisting scripture just like wbc

The logic of the argument is not only what does Scripture say, but what does one's heart say (that would line up with God's Word)? Has God kept His enemeies around or did God destroy His enemies? We see a constant pattern of this in Scripture. For why would God who is good, keep evil hanging around for all time? Would not such evil be in direct opposition to His goodness and plan for all eternity?

Is this a rhetorical question?

No. I believe God hates the sin and loves the person. For we are not to hate people. We are commaned to love. That is why God does not hate people. God cares and loves everyone. For He died for us while we were yet sinners. Yes, God does not condone sin, and He does not like it when a person sins (And can even get angry at people for their sin), but He loves all people and desires all people to simply repent of their sins. For God so loved the world...

You are welcome any time to address the Scriptures I have brought up.
And you are as equally welcome to continue to be wrong about your interpretations of scripture as well as to continue in your homospiritual tendencies.

Well, I'm sure there's an observation that's going to result in a torrent of proper exegesis, from henceforth.

Now that we've established bears do you-know-what in the woods, should we perhaps move on to primates?

See, what people are failing to understand is that God is in support of fair justice.

"And that servant, who knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more."
(Luke 12:47-48).

For the servant who did not know his will shall be beaten with few stripes and the servant who knew his will and did not do it, shall be beaten with many stripes. Why do we think God changes His form of punishment in regards to the afterlife? So if Satan tormented souls for thousands years, he could very well be tormented for that amount of time (Unless God decides to have mercy on him whereby He destroys Him before that point).

We are so accustomed to sin that we can not even begin to understand how much God hates sin. Yes hell is a terrible place and ought to be avoided at any cost. I suspect that the greatest terror of hell will be the knowledge that the soul is separated from God forever. The utter despair and loneliness, the utter hopelessness is way more than mortal man can comprehend. Souls screaming in utter terror for eternity into the blackness with no hope of reprieve not ever. That would surely be bad enough but there is much more woe and misery for those cast into the everlasting fire.

God who demonstrated such great love at Calvary will reveal His terrible wrath upon sin. Few pastors will preach on hell because the subject is so difficult. It is distasteful and really hard to comprehend but it is necessary to warn of hell if you are going to promise heaven.

To be honest, I haven't read any of it for so long I'll have to take your word on that. Being The Sirk, I know I can!

It is all about Holiness: Holy, Holy, Holy. This is actually the most blessed fact of God. When a person has a proper perspective of this fact of God, the rest falls into place.

While I know you are trying to create your own word, it is still a backhanded insult that says I am a "homo" and it is not nice. I am in no way in support of such a lifestyle. For the Bible condemns it. Christians are supposed to speak full of grace seasoned with salt. You are not doing that. So I encourage you to speak more in love and not with such hatred and insult towards others that are false.

You make me laugh....at least your entertainment value is pretty good. I called you a "homospiritual"....not a "homo". There is a huge difference in the lexicon of the English language concerning the two terms.

ie: Homo being someone who like the same sex

Homospiritual: someone being of the mind that they are free from sin and it is how they earn their way to heaven...by being sinless....perfect in every way. They also are part of their own fellowship...either alone or with a few as equally homospiritual "friends"...who they probably don't agree with much either....because ultimately...they are reliant on self for salvation and are not part of a healthy functioning body of Christ followers.

Hows this for salty? I'll bet you'll just trample it under foot.

No. It is also a term used by Sodomites.

For Gail So Loved the World | The Homospiritual's Journey on Earth

So it is a word that was created as a backhanded insult to being like a Sodomite (Because they use that same word to identify themselves).
