Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.
And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;
and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;
and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Rom 5:1-5)

as i understand it, they're the leather boxes the Jews wore on their 'frontlets'.
they contained little strips of parchment on which were written certain portions of God's Law.
(i'm not sure they properly grasped what God was telling them to do there...)
but in some ancient near eastern cultures, mourning people would weep their tears onto a cloth and keep it in memory of the person or situation.
'put my tears in Your bottle' reminds me of that.

3 .) Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4 .) One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
5 .) For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
6 .) And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
