I have been given gift by the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and it is the Spirit of wisdom and understanding which was given to me by the Lord. I do not proclaim this gift as my own wisdom, but what it is, it is of the Lord. It is given me to edify the Body of Christ, but people have rejected it. And even saying I have received this gift from the Lord will cause me to be ridiculed and mocked. But I know that the Lord is with me, as was the Father with Jesus when he was mocked and ridiculed by those who understood not.

Needless to say, I have been given the gift of prophesy, this prophesy has shown me discernment for which Ill not believe or agree with what you say. For this above post shows pride. All your I and mes.

Amen to that..to me his brag and boast of being enlightened, of the Lord, anointed etc. are all proofs that he is not of God.....many will come boasting of their special anointing....they are not of Jesus....

Parallel verse to John 14:26

Rejoice in what? Power? No! Trials! Why? Because they build faith that produces endurance -- or as your version says, "patience." There is nothing about supernatural power being passed from God to man here, and what's more, you will never find such a thing outside of the major prophets of the Old Testament, at the time of Moses and Joshua, and then again with Elijah and Elisha, until you see it among the apostles. Signs, wonders, and miracles simply are not the consistent economy of God. They ae the exception, and we do not live in times of the exception.

What the original Apostles were given by the Holy Spirit we also are given those same things, as James says clearly that God by the Holy Spirit gives all believers the truth in His word. Not just the Apostles, so if that is what you believe then you believe as the Catholic church that only the Apostles can teach the word.

That is completely false as all believers are given the knowledge of God by the Holy Spirit when they pray to God for the understanding.

I have not the robbed the meaning of it one bit, it is those of you who claim the Holy Spirit will not guide you in all truth when you ask God. Nice try but the Holy Spirit does do what the bible says He does, rather you want to say He doesn't or not.

You cant know anything, given I am even accused of believing things through your side of things that I have never ever professed, which are lies, I just never answered to them when accused of the same, and watched how these things spread throughout the forums (where someone could be easiliy quoted if true. I watched the biggest perpetuators of those same lies and all the persons who would jump on board with them willing to believe a lie and run off to repeat the lie in agreement with those who bear false witness about others) and do so without ever quoting words from me on those very things. And just to see how a flock of vultures sets itself up to swoop down on someone as their prey and to see how bad it could get (as they flap their lips on every thread) while I say nothing but at some point in time to ask them (finally) to go fetch all these accusations (out of my own lips) and not out of someone elses.

I have watched this be done to other posters here, and since it seems to be LET those that are LET must have "other support" for their evil to continue on in the way they do.

Context, context, context ... Good grief!

No where in the context of that verse, the context stretching from v. 1 all the way through the chapter, does Paul claim to have done anything because Christ did it "in and through" him. This is a concept with roots in the charismatic movement, but it is biblically unsupportable. Paul says nothing was done by him or by anyone else, except the preaching of the Gospel, and what he warns of boasting about is the boasting the Corinthians did by claiming the work of other men for themselves.

With each effort you make, you prove more and more to those with discernment that you really are biblically illiterate, just as is ISIT. I wouldd think you would want to do something about that, other than continually proving how wrong you can be.

Ken, now I'm not even sure English is your first language, because there is nothing in what I said that would give any basis to your erroneous leap to a conclusion about what I said.

That is, "knowledge" and "remembrance" were relative to Christ's ministry, to which the apostles were the only witnesses who wrote down their experiences with Him, including Paul. I have to say that when I venture into the BDF, the verses which come to mind aren't those which speak of gentle, patient, non-striving servants of the Lord who are walking in the meekness of wisdom, but instead visions of ravening wolves immediately come to mind or the types of vultures which you just described. What is wrong with some people here? Seriously, I ask once again that everybody here check out the two different types of wisdom which James described in his epistle and honestly ask the Lord which category you fit into. Some people here seem to be so blinded by their hatred for others and their own pride that I wonder if there's any hope for them at all. At my end, I'm praying for everybody and that includes myself. They say that you don't get a second chance to make a first impression. If I wasn't already firmly rooted in the Lord when I came here, then I would have walked away, no, run away, fully believing that this was a site primarily inhabited by godless devils. For those on this forum who post civilly and respectfully, I commend you, but you seem to be in the minority here.
