Something very strange happen to me

Early yesterday morning, around 4am, I was awakened by a sound. I sat directly up and immediately felt the presence of something I perceived as evil. Without hesitation I said "Go away, God protects me!" and I did not sense it anymore. It was the first time in my life I had ever felt something like that. I feel extremely fearful and now I don't know what to do. I am in the midst of a very stressful time in my life and I am extremely confused!! I don't need this to be happening. I don't want to be paranoid. Any advice in how to deal with this? I may call my priest in the morning.

Greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world (1 John 4:4)
You can have what you say according to Mark 11:23 and you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you coz you have been given the power of a king, priest and of a god. So when you are disturbed command whatever has disturbed you to leave, and it will definately leave. Do not be afraid for you are more than a conqueror through Christ! God bless

Don't be fearful, Lonelyandlost. It left when you told it to, it is nothing compared to God. The fact that it fled from you means God gave you the victory. Evil is everywhere in this world, but be of good cheer. Jesus has overcome the world. Pray to Jesus, and ask Him to give you the power over all power of the enemy. Ask Him to not let you be afraid of evil spirits. If The Holy Spirit lives in your heart, you don't need a priest to have the victory! I'm praying for you sister!

Shemenia mentioned this verse, but I thought it deserved to be repeated:
"n all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." (Romans 8:37)

I don't think you're being paranoid. Evil does exist. I've had one or two similar episodes and I prayed for it to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. It worked :)

you say you don't know what to do, yet you did it :) Face all attacks from the devil with the promises of God :) (just remember sometimes he will try to distort them). God has already defeated the devil, he might scare and lure us, but God holds the ultimate power.

You know, these things do happen. I've had some strange things happen in my life, scarier than that even. And i have an active imagination, so i can spook easily, haha. What i've learned over years and years of dealing with this is that you just have to trust God. When i get spooked and don't want to walk into that dark room, i pause, remind myself God is in control no matter what happens, and that rarely does anything ever happen anyways, and just walk into that room like its nothing. The key is not to let the fear get to you.
And one last tip, don't create superstitious ideas about how to battle this. When i was younger i started thinking that i just needed to carry my bible with me, and that would protect me.. or wear my cross necklace. But that thinking is not biblical. Crosses, the bible, etc are not magical items that ward off evil spirits if you wave them around. The only way a bible will protect you in that situation is to quote whats inside it, not to wield it like an amulet. Just a little something to remember.

Satan likes to attack us when we are at our weakest. When you felt that presences, you did what should be natural for every child of God, and that is to declare that God protects you.

Now my question for you is, do you believe that God will protect you from the presence of evil? I'm sure you do, but sometimes, it becomes harder to believe it, especially when things become crazy in our lives. And that's when we have to stretch our faith a little more. When we don't really see God, we still have to trust Him. Even in the times when you are afraid, cry out to Him. God is stronger then anything in and of this World. God will give you His Spirit of Peace.

I have had moments like that too. I would say worship music in your home and you can leave it on at nights turn down a bit. Praise God throughout your home, Plead the blood of Jesus, Put scriptures in your home like Psalms 91.Also read Ps 91. May God keep you and comfort you. Read up scriptures on fear too. Do not fear for I am with thee etc. etc.

RE: "something strange" I don't believe I could add anything of more value than your prior responses, as I am sure you are all more Bible-versed than I (read the new testament about 10 yrs. ago-pitiful. However you did the appropriate thing as it obviously fled, as it should when it knows our faith and who protects us. Your story reminded me of something that happened (allegedly) to my ex guy. Said he was suddenly wide awake,dripping wet with a greenish color around him and God spoke to him stating I was no good for him and bad things would happen to him if he stayed with me. Then he was completely dry & everything in the room changed back to normal. I immediately said "that wasn't God" which was the same way my very spiritual friend responded when I told him the story. There's more, don't want to hog. Any ideas? We are having a horrible relationship or something. Honey52

Personally that doesn't sound like God to me. It gives me a creepy feeling, which is a feeling that would not come from God.

Bless your house and play christian music or preaching all night at a low volume to cleanse the atmosphere.

Do not fear. God is with you. This is what you live for, to be good living in love and be opposed to evil in the name of the Lord. You are a soldier under the Almighty God. You experienced your first direct attack on you. You have no reason to fear. It's exciting to be under the enlistment of the Almighty General our Lord of all heavenly hosts. How is your prayer life? This is a good excuse to build up your spiritual armor and weapon of the sword of the spirit! (Eph 6:10-17)

It's good you came to us. Don't be paranoid. That's the seed of insanity. But don't doubt that evil spirits exist and make attacks like these. I know first hand. You'll be fine. Don't run. Just get stronger. God is with you. Stand your ground, just like you did. You have all that you need. Learn to wield your sword. In other words, spend time with God, to draw near to Him.

I have scripture written on the frame of my home, and I chose wall art that has verses in them.
So that when people come into my home they know where I stand...
Since I have done this...I feel a presence of peace in my home.

And yes...I too have had to take authority over things in the night...
Remember to pray and ask for protection before you go to sleep!!!







Father thank you for this day, I give all our cares of this day to you. Place your warring angels to charge over our home as we sleep,


grant that this night we may sleep in peace. And that in the morning our awakening may also be filled with in peace and joy.

May our daytime be cloaked in your peace and your Joyful spirit.

Guard our hearts and minds, inspire us to think and act only out of love.

Keep us far from all evil; may our paths be free from all weaponsthe enemy has formed against us, from the time we go out until we return home.

don't worry. it is quite normal what happened to you. in fact it happens to quite a lot of people. you merely sense a true evil spirit. and you did the correct thing by chasing it away. the devil attack anywhere it thinks it has an opening. if it happens again simply do what you did. you don't have to be afraid. if you keep your faith it will be your shield.

The same happened to me last night. Two very real dark presences were at my bed trying to drag me out of it & this is where it becomes very blurry, not sure if I was dreaming or if it was real. I kept repeating over & over : leave me alone In Jesus name, but it was so difficult to pronounce my words so that it/they could hear me clearly. I was panic stricken in my lucid dream (?), tried to come out of the experience & when I finally did I felt drugged. Heard noises in the house, felt nothing in my room but was too scared & tired to check the rest of the house. Tried to keep my eyes open but could not & woke later the morning. We had a small earthquake earlier the evening & am currently going through a confusing divorce. What I felt immediately on waking was the surety that my marriage was not good for me. Asked God in the week to make me see what I needed to see, maybe this was a warning, I cannot be sure. But it freaked me out, that I'm sure of. Thank God I correctly chose Him to help me.
