Are you and the YECs posting on this thread as sure that those verses mean what you think they mean as you are that the bible tells us the world is 6,000 years old, there was a global flood around 4,400 years ago, and dinosaurs coexisted with humans?

ABSOLUTELY SURE, only your math is off. It may have taken six 1000 year DAYS, to complete Creation. So I would estimate it to be closer to 12,000 to 14,000 years from when GOD started Creation:

2 Peter 3:8 (HCSB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Dear friends, don’t let this one thing escape you:
With the Lord one day is like a thousand years,
and a thousand years like one day.

2 Peter 3:5-6 (HCSB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] They willfully ignore this: Long ago the heavens and the earth were brought about from water and through water by the word of God.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Through these waters the world of that time perished when it was flooded.

Job 40:15-19 (NKJV)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] "Look now at the behemoth, which I made along with you; He eats grass like an ox.
[SUP]16 [/SUP] See now, his strength is in his hips, And his power is in his stomach muscles.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] He moves his tail like a cedar; The sinews of his thighs are tightly knit.
[SUP]18 [/SUP] His bones are like beams of bronze, His ribs like bars of iron.
[SUP]19 [/SUP] He is the first of the ways of God {first is size};
Only He who made him can bring near His sword.

Job 41:1-8 (NKJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] "Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook, Or snare his tongue with a line which you lower?
[SUP]2 [/SUP] Can you put a reed through his nose, Or pierce his jaw with a hook?
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Will he make many supplications to you? Will he speak softly to you?
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Will he make a covenant with you? Will you take him as a servant forever?
[SUP]5 [/SUP] Will you play with him as with a bird, Or will you leash him for your maidens?
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Will your companions make a banquet of him? Will they apportion him among the merchants?
[SUP]7 [/SUP] Can you fill his skin with harpoons, Or his head with fishing spears?
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Lay your hand on him; Remember the battle-- Never do it again!

Job 30:29 (YLT)
[SUP]29 [/SUP] A brother I have been to dragons, And a companion to daughters of the ostrich.

NOW PLEASE STOP TRYING TO DERAIL THIS THREAT, and start your OWN thread on OEC vs YEC.

I can't figure out what your point is though. What do Christian leaders have to do with the constitution and the Christian God? The words "Jesus Christ", "Christianity", "bible", "creator", "divine", and "God" are never mentioned in the bible! Do you think this was an accident/oversight on their part?
Is this sarcasm, referring to someone else's post,
or are you actually claiming these words aren't in the blble?

Obviously my point went way over your head.

A sharp LGBT scripture lawyer taking the "con" position debating "Does the Bible condemn homosexuality?" would immediately destroy the credibility of a YEC taking the "pro" position.

To reiterate, your rant and rage in your first post is absurd.

The Supreme Court is not responsible for gay marriage and homosexuality.

To reiterate again, the nonsense spouted by YECs regarding the age of the earth, a global flood around 4400 years ago, and dinosaurs coexisting with humans is a major reason why many dismiss evidence from scripture regarding other issues.

It's called credibility.

YEC: "Dinosaurs and humans coexisted with humans and homosexuality is a sin."

Lesbian Christian who actually knows something about science and also the Bible: "Dude, what are you smoking?"

Is this thread about homosexuality and gay marriage?

What am I talking about?

Homosexuality and gay marriage, and why some don't believe such is sinful behavior.

What are you talking about?

Nothing.

Moving to a stage of open rebellion against the Lord is alarming. We're also seeing currents of siding with terrorists, who would carve up Israel, better still, annihilate the nation in a second holocaust, which they openly proclaim is the goal. We know the bottom line that God is not mocked, and "look out below" when His indignation is full! The enshrinement of homosexuality, beyond the reprobation, the depravity the Bible teaches is involved, reminds me of what Ruth Graham said, “If God doesn’t punish America, He’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.” A sobering comment, of our God who does not change.
God and Abraham had a conversation about Sodom and Gomorah and Abraham kept negotiating with God to spare them according to the number of believers that resided there.

Point is, there are millions of believers in the US and although it may look like Sodom and Gomorah, there is no comparison

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. Leviticus 18:22-23
Let's stick to Leviticus, or at least the OT, for starters.

The Hebrews back in the days of the OT didn't know anything about those verses in the NT.

So you have in Leviticus 18:22 the verse about a man lying with another man.

Then in Leviticus 18:23, you have the verse about a woman lying with a beast.

Where is the verse about a woman lying with another woman?

Wouldn't you think a good place for it would be between those other two verses?

So what do you think the sin of Sodom and Gomorah was?

Seems to me to be a considerable amount of disagreement over that issue.

NO, it is a QUESTION of whether you KNOW HIM intimately and personally, and whether or NOT you BELIEVE HIS WORD, which is everything between Gen. 1:1 and Rev. 22:21. WE BELIEVE GOD, while you believe Human Beings.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
[SUP]10 [/SUP] nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

Do not worry about those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Instead we need to bring the Gospel of Salvation to all those listed in these verses so they too can turn away from their sins and follow Jesus Christ.

Romans 13:1-7 (NKJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] For he is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience' sake.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God's ministers attending continually to this very thing.
[SUP]7 [/SUP] Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

IMO, it was two sins. The abomination of homosexuality and total unbelief in God

Big whoop... The only thing I don't like about the whole gay marriage stuff is the need the other side feels to force feed everyone to accept that it's ok. It's not... but neither are a bunch of other stuff and no one gets in a hissy fit over that. What people do with their own lives is up to them. Even if gay marriage wasn't legal, would that really stop people from having gay sex? No. They're gonna do what they're gonna do. If they wanna get married, who am I to stop them?

People have been having affairs, etc and no one bats an eye but gay people get married and the whole world is ending.

And the US government is hardly a role model the Christian faith anyway. The government has been garbage for a while now. The US has been around only a few hundred years. I really don't think the US was ever more in God's favor than any other nation. The US has gotten lazy and complacent anyway... Country could use a good shake up but I don't really think this was the nail in the coffin to do it.

Look how bad Rome got before it fell apart... US still has a way to catch up to Rome. We don't have pedophilia acceptable, multiple wives, incest etc or graphic sexual poetry on our tombstones.

what was the real reason

49
Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread,
and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters,

neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me:
therefore I took them away as I saw good.

We have gone WAY beyond the deal where we can say "leave them along, sinners will sin" we now have a ruling by the supreme court that in effect makes this sin "moral" by force of law..that a sexual perversion has just been given a protected legal status. It will be taught as a good and moral thing to our children in public schools it will be exalted in our society even more because it will have the force of law to demand that it is enforced.

As I said before when the government begins to promote adultery and these other sins as a civil right...you will see folks get upset as well.

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this,
To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction,
and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Attention Prodigal (Moderator):

I request that you remove the ban on my user name JackH immediately.
I would agree with Prodigal. JackH is 98, and Ithamar is 35. JackH has a American flag and Ithamar is from Saint Kitts and Nevis. This portrays deception.

[HR][/HR]For me I think a great deal happened.

GOD may have just washed his hands of protecting the USA.

We CEASED to be One Nation Under GOD.

I lost my pride in what the USA has become.

It will be hard to have the same deep sense of Patriotism that I once had.

The USA has become the leader of the world in the Great Falling Away.

The USA has become a nation that snubs her nose at GOD.

SOON pro-gay marriage people will be filing Law Suites against Churches that refuse to Marry them or refuse to permit them Membership.

My Flag now flies ONLY FOR THE VETERANS AND OUR SERVICE MEN, and no longer for the USA.

For the fist time in my life, I would like to live in another Country.

Isaiah 5:20-21 (ASV)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
[SUP]21 [/SUP] Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 (NKJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you,
[SUP]2 [/SUP] not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
It seems to me the USA just keeps getting more and more morally corrupt. Has it always been this way, or are we steadily getting worse?
