OK...chill please

No one is going to die on this hill...this is the suggestion thread...not the "Answer me now thread or I will use a sword to cut off your ear."
"Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world." I am very chill.

Well that's great

As believers, we all can say that Christ in us is greater than the spirit that is in the world!

That's very encouraging

Well I don't know the reference to your conclusions of judgement so I cannot support or not support it. But to set forth a movement based on an assumed conclusion is dangerous and wrong. I believe this thread has nothing to do with keeping the thread honest..it is in keeping the ones you disagree with from having influence. I will simply agree to disagree. If we want to talk about specifics that we can do....speculation is divergent, and not time I will waste.

No there is nothing wrong with different points of opinions, but those disagreements can be handled in a respectful manner.

A number of us have discussed the possibility of finding a way to keep threads on track and not have them overrun with diversions and those who constantly use every opportunity to sidetrack the thread in order to post their belief that you can achieve perfection and never sin again.

It is not an exaggeration to say that certain posters, and yes, one in particular, takes over many threads in the Bible Forum and makes it impossible to have any sort of discussion unless that discussion is all about their particular interpretations of the Bible. It is as though this person is making a career out of spamming threads while seeming to be on fire for spreading their beliefs.

It would be super nice to be able to have a discussion without being told we are going to hell or having our words twisted or misrepresented or being told we do not understand the Bible because we do not agree with their beliefs.

A suggestion we seem to agree on, is to be able to ban someone from a thread if they keep sidetracking and changing the subject or basically making sure no one can even discuss the subject matter of the op. The ban would be after being warned and would only constitute a thread ban...in other words they would no longer be able to do the usual thing of upsetting most folk and taking over. I think a mod might be best suited to do the actual warning and thread banning.

Many people here feel that something needs to be done about the constant and purposeful hijacking of threads by the group, and one person in particular, who continually use this forum as a platform for their church or whatever group they belong to.

Whatever they represent, it is certainly not Christianity as most understand God's grace and forgiveness. Please...can we get something done here...it would make for a much better forum in which to discuss.
Sidetracking threads is a part of being in an online forum. I've complained about threads being sidetracked many times and always hear 'oh well, that's how forums work'.
Also this creates more work for mods who have to spend more time policing threads and dealing with an increase in reportings that will likely be ignored because a mod may disagree that a thread is being sidetracked.

well you know, most forums are moderated to avoid the type of bashing that goes on in the Bible forums...I like this site, but I am not talking just about sidetracking now, am I

I don't see you in the forums I am talking about, unless you only read, so I'm not sure why you think things are ok

If you aren't just talking about sidetracking then you failed to make that clear in your OP. This iis not a fault of my own if there was a misunderstanding but rather a lack of clarity.
I've been a member of this site for four years and have 14,000+ posts. So I feel more qualified than your 5 months to know what is being talked about in regards to be this site functions.
You don't see me in those forums because, long before you joined the site, I had determined those areas of the site are unhealthy in many ways and therefore largely avoid them any longer.
Show me where I said things were ok. Because I don't remember saying anything of the sort. In fact I said that I, myself, have complained fruitlessly. It seems your reading comprehension is on par with your ability to make your points clearly and concisely.

Then there is that tricky little freedom of speech thing.... Unfortunately people have a right to their opinions.....of course we can take action for ourselves and remove ourselves from the offensive thread...never to return again.....

PS I have never known a thread to tell a lie....so they seem pretty honest to me....lol
Ah, a problem with your supposition. There is no "freedom of speech" on this site. Sure, we can say whatever we want, but Christianity trumps bad-mouthing God specifically to keep this site going. We ca say whatever we like, but we'll get banned for saying some things. (Not to mention, the owner isn't American.)

As for lying threads. Bummer. I wish we had digital cameras when I was young. I'd be able to post a photo of one of my brother's imaginary friends named "Thingy." Thingy was either a wade of string or a cotton ball fashioned something like the Tasmanian Devil cartoon when he was a cloud of flurry. My brother talked for Thingy, and, sure 'nuff, sometimes Thingy lied. lol

"...A suggestion we seem to agree on, is to be able to ban someone from a thread if they keep sidetracking and changing the subject or basically making sure no one can even discuss the subject matter of the op..."

"...Many people here feel that something needs to be done..."

How many ppl were writing with you that part?

Besides, I´m sorry you felt what you´ve mentioned, disgusting.

HONESTLY: I also have seen portions of derrailments BUT, I also have seen suggestions to moderate even signatures or pictures so, if the Inquisition came back, I know how I could be cheeky or picky.

I have no right to moderate ppl´s minds.
She has seven so far, and that's just those of us who wandered over here to see this thread. I don't wander her often.

And no one is asking you to moderate at all. (I personally think it's a good thing if they never want me to moderate, so that's not a put down. lol)

Use the report button on said poster and help the mods see how that person is trolling/spamming thread with propoganda and not actually responding...report three or four examples and the mods will warn or bann if it is shown that the person is hurting others by their actions.

If they hurt no one just put them on ignore and pray for them. Dont respond to their prods but in Christian love fellowship with those who wish to discuss the topic in the thread.
Actually, they really are hurting people, but not always on the threads they disrupt. I've seen people who are checking out God buying into this pile of malarkey, just because they don't know any better. Salvation with a huge pile of malarkey takes a long time to get rid of the malarkey. Too much malarkey, and the person never gets to the point of salvation. Someone talked them right out of giving themselves to the Lord.

That´s a decent way to bypass things like that but, I got the impression she felt some ppl being disgusting at "preaching" the ways they probably are and Amber, herself, likes controversies...

So are you suggesting we greet only our own people-- while slandering a person, whom we all know to whom you are referencing along the way?....In order to quote: "Keep the threads honest?"

Is this not dividing? Does the Word of God not secure your position in regards to this persons position? Or any persons apposing position? I am sorry but this is not a calling God would have us be attached to. Matthew 5: 43-48 says, ".....And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?" KJV

"It is easy to greet your friends--even outsider's do that. But you are called to something higher. "Be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect." VOICE.

Where is that take-over button? I have yet to see it. Is it the red one?

So let's just skip 1 Cor. 5:13 God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”? VOICE

Apparently, it is a calling God would have us attach to.

who is this person? State his name and what false doctrine?!! Remember too..."Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world!"
Why bother? You're already doing your judging. You just pick whichever judgement you want at the moment.

Yet this doctrine has not been proven wrong yet, let's not jump to conclusions. And we don't have to feed the behavior simply answer it. Scripturally.
Yes it has been. Just because you don't know that doesn't mean it hasn't been.

From what I understand, that buttom almost goes up in flames in these threads...I may have used it one time...I am pretty conservative on the use of the report button

I understand the sentiment Ariel, but nothing changes, reports or no report so I am just suggesting, and I am not the only one, a different approach that I have seen work elsewhere
How do you know if almost everyone else is like you -- rarely reporting? This is an assumption I see often. "I don't report because everyone else does." "I don't ignore because no one else does." "I don't boycott because who listens?" And yet, here you are hoping this is the time others do listen... and many of us see the same problem.

What if everyone who thinks reports do nothing report anyway? I used to deal with tenants from 900 apartments. Squeaky wheels do get greased.

Im sorry....I was not actually saying you called me a whimp......
Im saying if someone comes for a fight ....doesnt mean we have to give it to them...
I will fight for truth....for sure....but I refuse to argue over it.....its pointless...
God tells us to love one another......He never said.......only when they agree with us.....
each of us are responisble for our own salvation.....I refused to let some bully change
my joyful outlook......and because of their ignorance......I dont feel I should stoop to
those levels and take myself out of character.....I wont let anyone take my focus
Off peace.......tempting or not.......peace my sister....fight the good fight.....jo
Good attitude to have for yourself.

Same bully doing the same thing to others, does this advice still work? If everyone sits back and ignores when a bully does this to many, then all we get is the bully destroys and then run the whole, while we just mind our own business.

How is everyone else's splinter in their eyes? It seems for someone who keeps claiming everyone else is ignoring the log in their own eye, you've done nothing but demand others accommodate your log. Should I start a thread to talk about you now so everyone can judge you? I know that's ridiculous, but that's exactly what you're demanding here for someone else.

that's not the reason I don't report if I don't report

I do report when I think it really necessary, but it is not a button I jump on...I prefer to have a fistacuffs in my backyard, but I live too far for people to fly out, otherwise, I think I could settle it all real quick like

You don't have all the facts there costly; I'm not a person who sits on it...I started this thread cause several people thought it was a good idea and a couple apparently had already suggested it...not here I don't think, but in a thread

So, it seems I am actually the only one who was trying to do something concrete...I thought people were serious, but I may have misjudged

Anyway, anyhow, you can see for yourself the keen and eager interest this thread engendered....everything from there is no problem to I am the problem....I don't think I am, but anyway

I'm going to report you now by the way...have some pizza while you wait
