Everyday there is death, and violence against christians, by the destructives of Isis. Why isn't the USA sticking up for those who are being put to death. How could parities go on, and cute dresses be worn by those in authority, when the smell of death, and sackcloth, is daily uploaded, as a joke on video killings, and the US government does nothing? Maybe some one has a good answer, because mine is {who cares} attitude and a blind eye to the suffering.

I will say this as a Marine who served his country and was honorably discharged....the founding of the 13 colonies was based upon religious freedom from the persecution of the European Catholics and Anglicans.......the founding of our government was not...no matter how you slice and dice the following tells it all....

John said--->God is SPIRIT and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth

The Amendment we have under the constitution states...Worship God as you please (in essence)

Which one above is of God and which one is of Satan?

Which are you, a citizen of Heaven, or a citizen of a piece of land called America? God never said this ground we live on was Holy. Chances are within a short time the Koran will be read here where the Bible used to be. It happens.

We have to see past being "holy" Americans, and look for our true citizenship.

Big AMEN to the reply. Absolutely right. It says, "be ye holy, for without holiness, which is seperation from the world no man shall see the Lord, " John the baptist did the right thing, lived in a cave, and had no valuables but the Riches of an eternal life. Very true. I'm going to walk on clouds now, and forget the earth. :)

One thing I have noticed at least in the Churches I have attended over the years, very little passion or concern for our missionaries languishing in prisons and the persecution of Christians.

..Jkalyna, wait! Come back down to earth, we need ya in help getting the Gospel out and praying for those who do.:)

Your tone makes me curious as to how much of Your time is spent doing anything about it yourself. I mean, when you aren't sitting on a forum site for hours posting in the many threads you create.

In 1830, Alexis de Tocqueville, said of the USA: "America is great because America is good. Since the assassination of Robert Kennedy, this country has been slowly but progressively moving away from her goodness; and since the close of the 20th century has been rapidly declining in her greatness. This is not intended to urge anybody to disloyalty; it is just an observation of what appears to be fact.

Our president is a closet muslim ..it appears and he and the other liberals in control of our military are unable and completely unwilling to protect Christians ...In fact they are quiet busy attacking Christians here...why would they care if they are being killed in the middle east?

interesting, just months before JOHN F. Kennedy's assassination (1963), they took prayer and bible reading out of the classrooms.

Since you're dismissing God and dismissing anything you could be doing to stare at the US government, why bring this up in the Bible discussion forum? This IS the problem. Even the visible church sits back and waits for the government to do something, when in reality we should actively be seeking God's direction. So, why blame an ineffectual means when your participating in that means by just giving lip service?

Spurgeon didn't know it, but this evening's devotional is directed toward Americans.

"Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time is come. For Thy servants rake pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof."—Psalm 102:13, 14.
selfish man in trouble is exceedingly hard to comfort, because the springs of his comfort entirely within himself, and when he is sad all his springs are dry. But a large-hearted man full of Christian philanthropy, has other springs from which to supply himself with comfort beside those which lie within. He can go to his God first of all, and there find abundant help; and he can discover arguments for consolation in things relating to the world at large, to his country, and, above all, to the church. David in this Psalm was exceedingly sorrowful; he wrote, "I am like an owl of the desert, I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top." The only way in which he could comfort himself, was in the reflection that God would arise, and have mercy upon Zion: though he was sad, yet Zion should prosper; however low his own estate, yet Zion should arise. Christian man! learn to comfort thyself in God's gracious dealing towards the church. That which is so dear to thy Master, should it not be dear above all else to thee? What though thy way be dark, canst thou not gladden thine heart with the triumphs of His cross and the spread of His truth? Our own personal troubles are forgotten while we look, not only upon what God has done, and is doing for Zion, but on the glorious things Hewill yet do for His church. Try this receipt, O believer, whenever thou art sad of heart and in heaviness of spirit: forget thyself and thy little concerns, and seek the welfare and prosperity of Zion. When thou bendest thy knee in prayer to God, limit not thy petition to the narrow circle of thine own life, tried though it be, but send out thy longing prayers for the church's prosperity, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem," and thine own soul shall be refreshed.

The letter to the Romans tells us that "God's wrath is here now - at work in the world, opposing all manifestations of ungodliness".

There could be many explanations as how this is happening - but at least there is a supernatural power at work in our land that goes even beyond the choices of our government that IS opposing wickedness. And that power must be motivating and inspiring people in various ways.

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem,"

It always astounds me how Spurgeon foresaw the regathering of the Jews back in their land long before, even while the Land was a desolation. :)

I'm so upset that Netanyahu wasn't invited to the nuclear talks with Iran. Guess they just didn't the truth to come out. You have 60 days to write your representatives and let them know that there has to be un-announced inspections and what a dim witted thing they have done.

My husband contacted ours and I have written Netanyahu personally, hoping to be of encouragment.

By keeping Israel out of the discussions she now has the options and is under no binding agreement, to not go after the reactors militarily.Besides God has His hand on her obviously.

heya, well this time I agree with you. If you remember when he was being elected, his grandmother was on the news, doing witch craft to nominate him in. During this time, their have been more problems, personal, in the white house, chefs leaving, decors. leaving, people have passed out standing next to him, people have been killed, people have killed themselves. With all respect and not discriminating, truth could be spoken about any president of race, but this time around he was not put there by the Lord, I don't believe this. As being Muslim, I don't have a problem with that, as long as they are on the side of loving their neighbors, but there has been so much disaster from these terms, I pray this soon will be over, nice input. :)

well, you know it takes discernment, and knowing your place as a women, I could lay out some mean ugly words, and for what, this is called Christian Chat, and l like it. To answer a fool with his own folly, maybe that was meant for men, but I'll not waste the Lords time.

You know your right. We here in the USA have freedom, though things are depleting on a spiritual Godly level, those places where they secretly need to pray, and have a bible, I don't know how difficult that must be. Sometimes we get a little set back, not being in the wilderness, as some. WE still need to pray for Godly leadership. Israel has a right to pray in their schools, we don't, and yet we print money, in God we Trust, when their is no acknowledgement of it, somethings going to blow soon, as a weakened levi, because Faith has been broken, fear is rampant, and people are thinking of spending millions of dollars to block bridges so the jumpers wont take their own life, instead of directives of Faith, and to a Real God. Look out USA, I believe it will be shaken. And we need to stand firm, upon the Rock of Christ, and when the troubles flow in like a wave, we need to be in Faith, not fear.
