I would if I could haha, might wanna get that flight number right, you could end up in Botswana!

Strewth! Too right, we have a lot to answer for for our sayings! Haha we have more dodgy sayings than a koala stuck in the ol Gumtree by the billabong down in Walla walla.

Ah, Walla Walla. I have relatives there. It's a small town with little more than 600 people.

SODOM & AMERICA

TAKE HEED AMERICA

Isa. 1:7 Your country is desolate...

Random prophesies that really should be interpreted in context.

Now HERE's a 'prophesy' that DOES apply:

For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

(Phil. 3: 18-20 / ESV)

HINDERMOST of the nations
LADY of the Kingdoms
SHE mounts her DEFENCES to the UTMOST HEAVENS

And then pay attenetion how she is destroyed from THENCE from the NORTH and how SHE loses all of her young men of war in ONE HOUR and what the strike does to the earth and where it is heard and what it does to HER cities!

The Lady of Kingdoms
[h=2]THE LADY OF KINGDOMS[/h][h=4]Isaiah 47:1-15[/h]Here is an instance of a nation being personified as a woman. “The virgin daughter of Babylon,” “Daughter of the Chaldeans,” “The Lady of Kingdoms,” “A Lady for ever,” all describe Babylon itself, unconquered for so long but about to be dethroned and made to sit in the dust as a menial slave. Stripped of its boasted possessions, Babylon would be as a widow bereft of husband and children, experiencing the full bitterness of widowhood. When Isaiah depicted Babylon as “a lady for ever,” he caricatured Babylon with all its pride and snobbishness and self-importance. But pride of possession became Babylon’s shame and ruin. Mackintosh Mackay, dealing with the denunciation of Isaiah, says that there are three types of woman’s pride Babylon manifested—Pride of Rank, Pride of Wealth, Pride of Intellect—and gives us these three Bible illustrations of them—

Michal—the wife of David, who loved pride of rank.
Salome—the mother of Zebedee’s children, who represents pride of wealth.
Miriam—the sister of Moses, who typifies pride of intellect.
Babylon was mistress of the world (Isaiah 13:19), “a lady of the kingdoms,” puffed up with pride of rank, wealth and intellect, but her utter humiliation was depicted and was experienced when her king was slain and she sat as a widow and childless because its inhabitants were to be carried away as captives (Isaiah 23:4; 54:1-5). Judgment overtook the lady of the kingdoms suddenly, “in a moment.” This was realized when in a single night Babylon was taken, unexpectedly, by Cyrus, the heathen king, whom God called His servant.

Actually it was Darius the MEDE who took Babylon for Cyrus!

Cyrus took the city and put Darius in charge !!!

The Greek historian Herodotus, who wrote about Babylon about 100 years later, described how Cyrus’ army captured the city. Part of the army went north of Babylon and dug a trench from the Euphrates River to a nearby marsh. When the army connected the trench to the Euphrates River, much of the water in the river flowed toward the marsh, while only a little water continued to flow toward Babylon. While the Babylonians were confidently celebrating a feast, the strong river and moat protecting the city became very shallow, and the Medes and Persians were able to enter the city (Herodotus 1.191). They captured the city without a battle, and Darius the Mede was put in charge (Daniel 5:31).

Darius the MEDE TOOK the kingdom being about threescore and two years old! Does not say he was put in charge, but rather that he TOOK the KINGDOM.......

My guess is that the Rapture is very near; Christians will be removed, and a thermonuclear rain of destruction will destroy America so that it plays no importance during the Tribulation, never being mentioned in prophecy. Look up, brethren; maranatha, Lord Jesus.. . . .

Yes, America is also mentioned in the Bible and i understand she will not be conquered but endures for ever. Concerning a nuclear war thing or whatever, i won`t doubt you, there may be one. But for the Anglo-American power, i can assure you that it will never be taken or dominated forever. (for these are the words of the Almighty God).

27TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
28PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

my guess would be God gave the kingdom to him,

that rules in the kingdoms of men , they rise or fall by his word.

Ah, the old "DOOM AND GLOOM" topic. All civilizations fall. I just finished a WORLD HISTORY class and it only intensified and proved that kingdom after kingdom is the natural order of the universe. ALL countries are created, exist for a while and then lose their identity, purpose and power. Name one single existing country on the planet that has not faced this. Oh, I get it..America is showing signs of being on the brink...GOTCHA!

Well friend D,

If it says Babylon, believe it. Jeremiah has this extensive prophecy about Babylon. Really it is a stretch to read in American where Uncle Sam simply is not mentioned. A word study? Are you alleging that some Hebrew words refer to the USA? Hindermost calls to my mind the prophecy about Egypt's decline, from being such a powerful empirical nation to like what it is today. Kingdoms? The USA has a mixed constitution; for all the exec orders it doesn't make it to kingdom -- kingdoms are not run by Oligarchs like the SCOTUS. Upmost heavens sounds like hyperbole. And the USA hardly reaches any utmost heavens. Moreover, Barack Obama is no lady; at least I don't think he is. I have read strange speculations on his spouse, unworthy of repeating her, like his spouse'sring finger being longer than his spouse's middle finger.

We really must have sober interpretation lest we bring the Bible into disrepute as meaning whatever we may dream up.
