A lot of poor people aspire to become rich. In the process of becoming rich and gaining wealth, are you more prone to do evil things? If yes, does it mean you should try to avoid to be a very rich man? what are your opinions?
We'd all like to have a lot of money, wouldn't we, but if money is more important than the Lord, then we've gone astray and lost our peace. If you are rich, it would seem to me that you should also be generous.

yes me too. I wish I am. But then why rich and popular people tends to do suicide and use drugs? Is it because they have so much money that they can afford drugs? they can afford prostitutes, they can afford to do party all night. and why rich people tends to oppress poor people just to get what they wanted, and they always get what they wanted because they are rich, they can even twist justice with their money.
money can't clean the conscious/the inside.

Gen.6:5And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Note: It does not say And God saw that the wickedness of rich men was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his rich heart was only evil continually.

It was all man. (And it was before PCism, so man is human being not merely the male gender.)

Do rich people riot and destroy businesses?

You seem to have a hatred for rich people and you're stereotyping them to rationalize it.

Good question.... Money changes people. I think it is important to be content (money wise) in whatever position you are in rich or poor. Jealousy is a curse that perhaps some poor people that make it rich carry with them?? maybe
What is this opinion based on?

they riot because they are explioted and starving. rich people spread poverty. look at Africa, one of the richest continents with the poorest people. but they were not always poor that didnt start until Europeans got there.

Jason, have you actually stopped sinning? Are you now walking perfectly as Jesus walked? Was it easy to get to that point?

I'm with you on one thing - sin does not have dominion over me - even when I fall short. Grace has dominion.
Here we go again.LOL

I dunno about sin - but people from lower socioeconomic situations commit more crime. Not the same thing I know.
Not really. The crimes simply differ. Hubby worked on a government base and someone got the brilliant idea to bring in parolee prisoners living in a halfway house. They were all rich or used-to-be rich men. They all had their stories and most used to live in areas of North Jersey known for upper-middle-class to lower-upper-class cities. The only reason some of the men were no longer rich is because the government takes away everything from the person when they are bused for being high-level drug traffickers. (They WERE middle-class men, not merely poor men who lived the good life for a while.) Others were busted for criminal activity related to their IT jobs. Great hackers or great phishers, but they had the education to go that way, so they weren't poor either. (They weren't allowed to use computers until released out into the world again, yet the bosses on the base were stupid enough to use those guys in the computer room. One got busted and sent back to prison for doing the same thing that got him in prison to begin with.) Many were ex-Wall Street guys who did inside trading.

Of all the men they brought in, only one guy didn't deserve prison time. He bought a big chunk of land and started building his house on there. Why is that illegal? Well, there was this large puddle on his land. Dry half the year and wetland the other half. Not enough to have fish live in it, but the EPA said he wasn't allowed to fill in that puddle because it was "protected wetlands." (IT WAS A LARGE PUDDLE!!!) 60 Minutes did a story on him, but he was still fighting his sentence to the point of almost finishing his time in prison.

Rich people go to prison. It's just not usually sensational stories, so we don't hear those stories often.

I'm very disturbed how many people here seem to give all sorts of philosophies about the rich or the poor that has noting to do with Christianity and very much what is being taught in the world.

I never could understand why people do evil things for money.
The most beautiful things in life are free to view anyhow..

James 1:17

'Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above...'

View attachment 127601
The bible does say that those that are freshly minded, mind the things of the flesh and Paul said he had preached spiritual things to them and they can offer carnal things to him.

What I am saying is we need money to help get the kingdom increased but money should be used righteously.

I've had more assets at other times in my life than I have now but it has not changed my relationship with the Lord, the evil is in the person not the money.

Do you serve wading boots with this pile of manure? Exactly how much indoctrination have you received from the media and education system? There's not a shred of truth in what you say. Africa's richest before Europeans showed up was their slave trading. They got richer when they found other continents who wanted the slaves at better prices.

the media and education system would support your view not mine. history is always written by the winners. the truth is in Africa itself not a book. how did they get so poverty-stricken? bad luck?stupidity? i dont buy that, they were made that way by western influence. just like India, Ireland and every little Caribbean country.
the slave market was not created by Africans. yes they sold them and just like today you have corrupt african officials selling out to big business thats always anglo-american.
read the history of the united fruit company and that will give you a good idea of how it really works

I was once hired by a poor man. Alas, he had no work for me, because he was so poor, he didn't advertise his business so had no customers. (I'm not kidding.)

So, I really, really appreciate rich people. I would never have had a job without them.

So, if you are so against rich people, don't work for one. And don't beg for food because you have no job.

i think it's a case to case basis. there are rich people who help the poor, while there are some who oppress the poor
