This morning I was driving on a single lane road, staying about four car lengths behind the vehicle in front of me. The guy behind me was a wise guy with a big pick up truck and didn't like that I was remaining so far behind the vehicle in front of me. So he swung onto the right shoulder, passed me and cut me off with an attitude.

Seconds later traffic stopped and he was stuck like everyone else, but he made sure he was just inches behind the vehicle that was now in front of him. The vehicle was a garbage truck. That's why I stayed back a few car lengths. So ultimately, he cut me off only to be stuck in traffic like everyone else, but he had the pleasure of smelling garbage up close and personal. Lol.

Ah man, I really dislike alot of drivers.

I've seen your scenario many times. People who just have to get somewhere 15 seconds quicker, but ultimately they always fall pray to the next car in front.

I've lost 4 friends in my life due to cars. Either they were responsible or someone else was, the common demonitor was an idiot behind the wheel. And its experiences like you mentioned above can cause that sort of things to happen.

I hope that justice was served and a carton of warm sour milk fell out of that garbage truck and splashed all over his wind screen lol.

I just really hate leaving the forrest and going to town these days.
I don't know if they have lowered the standard for a drivers license or most people don't have one.
A lots of ignorance out there.

yes, so many people think that they are the only cars out there. no one else around. the self-centeredness of our culture here in the u.s. grows daily, but that is another thread!!!

I'm sorry for your loss, Allan. I used to drive an ambulance and saw many accidents, mostly caused by stupidity or like gb9 said, self-centeredness.

If I wasn't Christian I would have gotten into an altercation with this guy because he deserves beat down. But I will leave it up to God as to whether this man receives blessings or growing pains of humility. In all honesty, I hope its a little of both.

I feel vaguely justified in my arrogant amusement whenever someone maneuvers like this, or weaves in and our of traffic, yet we pull up to the same stoplight. Lol.

My best road rage story:
I worked in North Philly and lived in South Philly. Too dangerous to take public transportation to work. (I worked on the edge of the worse ghetto in the city called "The Badlands" by others who lived in ghettos.) So, I drove. (It got so bad, I actually ended up using my phone to let them know I was there, so they could open the bay doors and I could park my car inside, after it got stoned so often by the neighborhood kids, my bosses felt obligated to give me a new window.)

That means I had to drive up and down the center of town on a fairly well-known street called Broad Street. It's a four lane street -- two lanes each direction. But there are certain spots where people simply double park, and I drove it so often, I knew which lane to be in all along the way.

One night, I'm in the proper lane -- the right lane -- next to where cars park. The only place cars aren't parked is the end of the block, because those are bus stops. Some maniac... wait. Let me set a little city-driving concept into your heads before I go on. I believe George Carlin was right. Any driver that slows you down is an idiot. Any driver that tries to, or does, pass you is a maniac.

Okay, back to story. So, some maniac was trying to pass me by going into the bus stop area, and hoped to get by me by crossing back into my lane before passing the cross street, since there were always cars parked on the other side of the intersection.

I won twice. He tried. He failed. I gave him the driving-righteousness face to show him what-for.
 <---------driving-righteousness face.

The third time was the charm. He won. But he gave me an unexpected gesture. He was in a convertible, and he burst into the human version -- sitting down form -- of the Snoopy happy dance.

Seriously! How can you not admire someone who was that happy to win? So, it just killed my driving-righteousness mood, but it also killed off my road rage. lol

the Lord surely does have a sense of humour as He is constantly showing and reminding us
through 'babylonic traffic' how to control our emotions and drive as He would....:)

Meh. It's people who live in forest that don't know how to drive. City folk are special. No matter how we drive, no matter what rules we simply skip worrying about, we are always special and therefore deserve to be wherever we are and whatever we do -- driving wise, of course. :D

common sayings of melita while driving:

- are you flippin' kidding me?!
- are you serious? ARE YOU SERIOUS!
- *slow-poke driver* you know.. you CAN go [insert number here] mph here.
- *vehicle speeds around me* well SOMEBODY is in a hurry.
- *end up at the same light* all that rushing and we're at the same light.
- why, Jesus? whyyyyyyyyyy??
- is today national "don't use your turning signal" day?
- *someone tailgating* get off of my butt!!!!

:\ lol

I always enjoy when people who are making a turn come to a complete stop. Apparently they don't know you can go forward and turn at the same time.

I don't get Road Rage, Utah.

I never understood why anyone would get so mad over things like this?
If someone cuts me off I just follow them home and park in front of their house for 6 or 7 hours.

Yeah......who wins in this situation?
Me!....and I handled it all like a grown up.

If I'm being tailgated and there's a semi truck nearby, I like to slow down to match it's speed and stay right next to it. Just to make the tailgater feel happy :)
