I'm not going to defend godson, but I think the common theme is men want submissive kind women, but they opt for trinkets and a bad attitude.

I think men opt for the women they really want. Then a couple of divorces later they decide that the women are to blame and only a "submissive" woman will do....preferably one from a foreign country.

I think it's more like...if we cannot love any better than the world does...then we're no better than the world...that may be what stops people from cheating.
