Pretty much everything can be opted out of when you are installing windows 10. Everyone should always read what they are installing and not just clicking next, next, next. This is true for any applications you install as well because legit well known companies are always trying to change your search engine, add toolbars, and other garbage to your PC.

Also, if you think windows 10 is bad and you own an Android device....take some time to look at some of the permission these apps you install require. Ask yourself questions such as -- why does my flashlight app need access to the internet, personal contacts, sd card, and all these other permissions to just turn on the flash for my camera? It is because some Chinese guy/company is letting you use the app so they can sell your personal information.

You can solder??!

View attachment 130419

(I can solder too, but only LEDs on RC helicopters)

Yes but not SMD soldering. I don't have that much patience for those :( SMD components sensitive to heat and I don't have a regulated soldering iron station. :(

Cool! LEDs on Heli. Is it outdoor or indoor type? I'm pretty bad at controlling them, keep crashing them. :(

Have you read the EULA when installing Windows? Even if people took the time, there's a lot of jargon in there that would go over our heads.

Hey, all...just wanted to post some stuff that's been coming out about Windows 10. If you've already upgraded (or are planning to) you might want to take a look at the privacy aspects.

It appears as though Windows 10 defaults to making your entire computer, and everything you type and do, completely open and shared throughout Microsoft and whoever else they want to share it with.

Again, by default, everything on your computer is fair game...your contacts, pictures, private files, everything...and everything you type.

Yes. I already had that figured.
So not taking the new Windows 10 upgrade.
Going to stick with my Windows 7 :)

This thread reminds me... Ubuntu has recently been collecting user information as well.

Seems like all the signs are pointing to Linux Mint. :D :D :D

Yeah, the more I look into the uglier it gets and considering downgrading, but Apple and Google have been invading our privacy for years. Even Ubuntu when it released that unity garbage by default transmitted local searches to remote servers completely unencrypted.

Here is a good link on how to fix issues in windows 10 though

THe fact that you even TRIED to fly an rc heli boosts you about 5 notches on my coolness meter! :D

I used to only fly the 3-channel indoor ones, but now I have a proper 4-channel CCPM (3D capable) helicopter that I fly, but I still can't do aerobatics with it. The learning curve from 3-channel to 4-channel was very steep. Had to practice a lot on a computer sim.

Whoever is monitoring my computer will die a very slow death of boredom and disappointment. Or they will turn to Christ Jesus. Either way, God's will be done. :D
Here is the same :D

I might downgrade this weekend and surprisingly Microsoft makes it just a couple clicks to do this for the first month (i did it for one computer that had compatibility issues). The operating system itself is really nice and fixes terrible windows 8 for the most part. The fact that metro apps run in a window instead of full screen is great. This makes windows development across desktop, phone, and tablet so easy.

But, the policies around the operating system is terrible really. But, I do know that Microsoft is planning to get away from big releases like 7, 8, 10 etc. Instead small releases like Apple, so being forced to update in the future is likely. Also, Windows 7 is already out of mainstream support and only has extended support. This means new features such as direct x 12 will never hit the platform...boo.

Thanks zeroturbulence, that's a smart move using a simulator! Should of done that, instead I used those ball trainer..

I had a Falcon 3D:

Balancing the blade was a pain. :(

I think I should stick to indoor first. The condition is more stable and predictable. Just need to fight ground effect.

Miss playing with it :( Good times.
