please let this thread die. enough stroking of Jason's ego. He needs to hit rock bottom so he can see truth. Not be babied by people responding to his same arguments over and over.

Anyone with an open mind knows. Jesus came to SAVE THE WORD.

if one has stopped sinning, they no longer need saved.

Actually it's a good question that I'll turn in another direction. Far too many Christians are consumed by the flesh, both by obeying it in it's lusts and by trying to constantly clean and make holy something the scripture tells us we are to consider dead.

Heb.1:3
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

Hebrews 10:1-2 King James Version (KJV)
10 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

Well, I know many say believers will do the good things of God, but the real question is can they ALSO do evil and sin (in addition to doing good) thinking their sin is automatically covered (as they commit it) and their conscience is clear?

Jason, I'll answer your question if you will answer one for me, well actually two. I would honestly get to know you and understand where you are coming from.

1. Do you think you are without sin?
I do not sin every day and currently I am not abiding in any sins unto death (such as lying. Lust. hate, etc.).

2. Why do you assume ,by this post and some others I've read from you, that saved men and women want to see how much sin they can get away with?
For some, they do both good and evil at the same time pretending to uphold righteousness when in reality, they are not. I am not sure it is an issue for some. Sin. Some just are not overly concerned about it because they got their ticket to Heaven.

Why would Jesus die on The Cross merely to wash away guilt of sin? And I have no question as to my salvation...there is no "thinking" I am saved. "For there are none righteous...no, not ONE!" (You may interpret that "ONE" however you would like). God bless.
In other words, did Jesus come to merely wash away your guilt of sin whereby you could keep on sinning thinking you are saved?

Or did Jesus come to forgive sin (thru true repentance and Godly sorrow over sin) whereby He came to set us free from being a slave to sin?

But if one can sin and be saved then what does it really matter how we live? Loss of rewards that you never seen? Wouldn't the ultimate goal for a believer on a basic level say that they finally made it into Heaven and they are with Christ?

You obviously do not know the context of verse 23. Try reading verses 10-11. If what you say is true then that means that there is none that seek after God and there are none that do not have any understanding?

Surely you are not saying you have no understanding and that you do not seek after God, right?

Jesus is the author of our salvation. And perfect at it.

[h=1]Hebrews 2:10 (ESV)[/h]10 For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.

You have to keep reading. Jesus is the author of eternal salvation to all who OBEY Him (Hebrews 5:9).

Guilt is a consequence of sin. Who have we offended when we sin? What is the penalty for sin? What does atonement entail?

Jesus came to not only set us free from the bondage of sin, but to also to give us a clean conscience after being purged from sin, for how can His peace abide in you with a guilty conscience of sin? Also He gives us by His Spirit bearing witness to our spirit and conscience the ability to keep us from sin.

Jason, it seems to me that you obviously are the authority on The Bible (God's Word, not Jason's), so I am bowing out of this one. As I said before, God bless.

'Guilt' to me translates as "sins [particulars]." 'sin' to me translates as "Being."

When God's light first shines into my heart my one cry is for forgiveness for I realize I have committed 'sins' before Him; but when once I have received forgiveness of sins I make a new discovery, namely, the discovery of 'sin,' and I realize not only that I have committed 'sins' before God but that there is something wrong from within. I discover that I have the nature [or 'being'] of a sinner. There is a inward inclination to sin, a power within that draws to sin. When that power breaks out I commit 'sins.'

I may seek and receive forgiveness, but then I sin once more. So life goes on in a vicious circle of sinning and being forgiven and then sinning again. I appreciate the precious fact of God's forgiveness for what I have done, but I also need deliverance from what I am. Romans tells us of such a deliverance. From both the 'sins' and the 'sin' itself. In the cross and life of Christ Jesus. > ALONE! Nothing substituted, nothing added, nothing more emphasized by the whole of God's Character! This IS God's answer to the whole of my problem and problems.

God is a great Big God of deliverance not a small God of pity. He gives peace from hope, not hope of peace. Scripture reproofs scripture...to understand our relationship to God in lew of His grace is to understand the entirety of his answer found therein. God has not hidden it; He has repeated it over and over! Jesus is not the road to grace, grace is the road to Jesus, which is the road to deliverance, and God Himself, freeing us to do His will! May God bless us in seeing God wants to forgive our sins only to step us by in the deliverance He offers in His Son!

When we are truly delivered from sin we cross over from guilt to conviction, yet conviction is all together real and worthy of notice! The voice of guilt is condemnation, the voice of conviction is that of teaching, Rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. To say these no longer need be present is denying Gods decrees set before us. And denying the victory found in it.

For some, they do both good and evil at the same time pretending to uphold righteousness when in reality, they are not. I am not sure it is an issue for some. Sin. Some just are not overly concerned about it because they got their ticket to Heaven.
First, I don't think anyone can go even one day without sinning, at least by God's definition of sin. That's why we need a savior. If we could be sinless then Jesus died in vain for we could have attained righteousness without him just by not sinning.

Second, anyone who claims to be saved yet has no interest in a changed life, no interest at all in getting free from sin and no interest in being pleasing to God, is not truly saved. They may have repeated a prayer, but there was no surrender of their will to God's, no heart change. It's impossible for a spirit to be born again and still retain the same relationship to sin that was before the new birth.

Now they may still struggle with some sins but they want to be free from them. Paul said it like this, describing the struggle of a saved person against sin.
Romans 7:15-20 King James Version (KJV)[SUP]15 [/SUP]For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

Paul then goes on in Chapter 8 of Romans to tell us how to win this struggle by turning our focus on the Spirit and the things of the Spirit rather than having our focus on our sins and trying to perfect our dead flesh.

JESUS came to set the captives free from sin but guilt is something that is for those who are still under the schoolmaster.

CHRIST nailed the law that was against us to the cross.
You can't make the outside clean unless first the inside is clean and we needed Grace to do that which was provide in the new covenant
+++++++++
Romans 6:6
king James version(KJV)

6.)Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
+++
In other words we were not able to serve GOD because of the weakness of the flesh.

Although when we sin in the flesh there are consequences those who believe the WORD of GOD have everlasting life.
GOD is a Spirit and must be worshiped in spirit and TRUTH.
+++
Romans 8:1
king James version(KJV)

1.)
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit

Notice the Condtion for the blood to cleanse you. Walk in the light as He is in the Light. This is a parallel of what 1 John 2:3-4 says. For 1 John 2:3 essentially says that we can have an assurance of knowing Him if we find we are keeping His commandments; And 1 John 2:4 says, he that says he knows Him and does not keep His Commandments is a liar and the truth is not in Him. So walking in the light as He is in the Light is allowing Christ to help you to keep His Commandments. Being born again, and having God live within you will result in the LORD doing the "good work withiin you (See Ezekiel 36:26-27).

I can agree with that but that's exactly what born again men and women do! They aren't trying to keep sinning but now with impunity! A born again Spirit is a Spirit made one with Christ. That Spirit agrees with God and the person wants to be free from sin. This person has the blood of Jesus to continually cleanse them from sin.

The problem I've had with some of your posts is that you claim that they don't sin at all . You even said that you don't sin. That's just in error.

if one has stopped sinning, they no longer need saved.
So you believe a saint should keep on sinning so that Jesus can keep saving them over and over for their sins? The Scriptures say, Jesus lives forever to make intercession for us. However, I doubt that translates into his believers abiding in sin within Heaven, or the Eternal New Earth within the city of New Jerusalem.

See, it is Jesus who helps a person to stop sinning and it is Jesus who keeps them from evil and temptation if they abide in Jesus and His Word.
