Ya know what I did this morning? I watched a show on television about an animal sanctuary right here in Texas. "Buffalo Roam" it was called, located in Seguin they said. About 1/2 drive from me. They showed a friendly tiger & dog who were like family to one another, a camel, two black bears, all kinds of awesome animals that they rescued and kept on this huge ranch. It was so beautiful!
So I asked my son if he ever heard of it and he goes, "Let's drive out there. I would love to hug that tiger." I wasn't too keen about getting that close to the tiger, but I said what the heck and we left to go find the place. We drove all over & finally found the gated sanctuary.
So we drive up and there was a sign by the huge gate that instructed visitors to call a certain phone number, which my son did. A lady answered and told him the sanctuary had been closed down almost 10 yrs ago and the animals were gone. The woman who ran the ranch lost her husband, sold the place and moved away. So no more animal sanctuary.
My son was disappointed that he didn't get to embrace a tiger. I was upset because the show made you think the place was presently active. Oh well.... perhaps I would have hugged the tiger, too. That would have been cool, I guess.
